Absolute Lassie fan here. I started with the old black and white and on through the color shows. On occasion, my family had a collie when I was growing up. I have every Lassie movie on either VHS or disc, plus an original poster for one of the other movies. In 2017, Lassie (yes, the authentic Lassie) poked my cheek with his nose. I have a photo of me sitting next to Lassie with my arm around him. I have had collies almost exclusively since 2001. I have had the great joy of sharing my life with the best collies I have ever met. Bragging? You bet, and not humble about it.

I was 7 or 8 over 50 years ago when I started watching on my grandma's B&W TV. Some were probably B&W reruns. I loved the series. But I also hated it because in every single episode ,it seemed , Lassie got hurt or something and I cried my heart out. I wont watch it anymore. Im still a softie. I dont want to cry anymore. This is part of what gave me such a strong love for dogs. I have been blessed with many. Broke my heart when I was told the old Lassie died. And that they used other dogs, even males. I cried for the real Lassie dying. Then the acting dog character being hurt. My neighbor even had a collie named Taffy.

@@RepentfollowJesus me too and I am 66 now. I have a pet lab/ German shepherd, have to hide him every time the landlord comes around but if he puts my dog out, I’m going straight with him, we took him off of the street and raised him from a puppy.

This was the 2nd movie of Lassie that i watched this day..i really love the story❤..an amazing dog..it made me laughed so terribly when their uncle Stuart kept on sneezing coz he was allergic to dogs but at the end he can't do nothing.He knew how his niece & nephew loves so much their dogs.❤❤
