You might find the video “Why you can’t look away from Blackpink” interesting from a filmmaker and editor’s perspective. It goes in depth as to how the filmmakers and editors assign a certain color palette to each member as well as certain camera angles, movements, lens effects, lighting, etc and how it carries through most of their music videos. It’s fascinating, and something I’d love to do if I were ever a filmmaker for any musical group. Whether you react to it or just watch it on your own time, I recommend it!

15+ Hidden Messages Inside BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” Music Video freebee 👇 Jisoo’s mural since (pink hair falls down) In this scene, we see two Jisoos. One is an unchanging, infallible image. The other is a living, breathing, real person. Fans take admiring photos of her image, but as soon as she makes a mistake, the “fans” turn their phone on her like guns.This symbolizing how photos and social media can be used to build someone up as easily as they can tear someone down. It also shows how one little mistake can damage an idol’s image and turn admirers against them.

When it comes to Blackpink's music videos and songs in general they are not very meaning-based or storyline-based, their charm lies in the amazing visuals and high production content which looks really eye-catching. Most of their songs are also accompanied by catchy beats and memorable hooks and are easy to jam to. I also struggled to decipher meaning in their videos because I am so used to doing that with BTS but Blackpink's videos are like a luxurious breath of fresh air to me and it's just beautiful because it also includes great styling, makeup and as you said very elaborate sets which look out of the ordinary.

The very first scene is actually a sort of ziggurat temple or altar that's on top of water and the scene where you said, is this in HELL, the theories on that set actually revolves around an old set on their debut song, their first MV Boombayah, where its sort of a classroom vibe and they were sort of delinquents dancing in the classroom, and now they are no longer just students. They have become so big and just like in the ending lyrics of DDU DU DDU DU (hot, hot, hot like fire) so in a sense they sort of lit their old set on fire. But that's just one of the theories. try reacting to KILL THIS LOVE, and HOW YOU LIKE THAT plsss. it's so good to have a first time reaction video on BLACKPINK that tries to see the meaning behind the sets

I liked your reaction as a filmmaker to these m/v's as k-pop m/v's are hands down the best in the game right now. blackpink has a lot of symbolism in there videos which is what i love as you can watch it over and over and find something new each time. This song is about female empowerment and not wanting to be labeled. ddu-du-ddu-du is the sound of gunshots hence why they use finger guns in their choreography basically their saying dont mess with us or we'll take you out. The music video touches on a lot of aspects but mainly they are trying to portray don't take them at face value. Each girl talks/shows how society seems them and then how they see themselves like in Rose's(girl with the red hair) scene where you seem her real self looking about her "image" on the pedestal because that's how she's seen by society as this princess/goddess who can do no wrong. The scene were Jennie is on the tank with shopping bags is actually pretty deep. In the beginning you see her carrying shopping bags(Jennie is the It girl of Korea and is one of its top fashion icons) but then she throws them on the floor and runs them over with a blinged out tank meaning society sees her as this frivolous girly girl you only cares about shopping but there is more to her than that. My favorite scene though has to be Jisoo's scene(girl with the umbrella) she is walking amongst her fans/paparazzi but because she looks different from societies image of her they have on the wall they dont notice her and continue to take pictures of her pic on the wall until she trips and falls and then they turn their cameras into guns and point them at her showing how fame/fans can turn on you when you make a mistake i suggest taking a look at this video its breaks down a lot of symbolism found the in the m/v and it's really informative kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWqVYXqIiJp1fq8

Musically, I totally respect that it does not appeal to you. However, I think audiences everywhere are tired and bored with single genre music manufactured by record companies through the rehashing of old hits. Note how fresh Billie Eilish sounds in comparison to other "pop" music due to her blending of multiple music genres in her songs that don't fit comfortably under the "pop" category. For me, that is what trully makes BP so great to listen to (and Billie), it is their fascinating blending of multiple genres in their songs, not just to do it, but to produce a far richer and better song that sounds like nothing else. Their music makes me happier, and more empowered for some reason. That is not always the case with Billie's music, and never the case with most other Western music. BP's biggest American fans on KZbin include numerous rappers who love BPs hard beats and pop music fans that are bored with American pop scene and are entranced with the MVs. So, strangely enough, BP is now mainstream globally (Bloomberg recently classified them as the number 1 musical act, that includes Bieber, Beyonce, etc). And I again respect your right to say "Not for Me", but your are in the outskirts of the current musical scene. Regarding the song's message, I think what you are missing is context. They are talking all sorts of smack to their haters (I don't care what you think, what you say doesn't faze me, we are pretty and savage (i.e., we are not going to just fall apart because you hate us), etc.). Before this release each of the members had been attacked for various reasons, most notably Lisa for not being Korean, with overt racist attacks such as calling her a dark skinned Thai monkey undeserving of kpop stardom and in public events. As you noted, Jisoo fell after we see all the men admiring her image picture. Then they turn into masked assassins at her first stumble. But she stands up proud and strong in the face of their camera guns pointed at her, looking to assassinate the real Jisoo after her public stumble. Over the years there have been numerous idol suicides driven by social media harassment and hatred in the kpop community. Idol stardom is not for the weak, you need to be a talented, pretty and savage to survive.

bp is literally "manufactrured by record companies"... like every bp song is the same formula. Which is not a bad thing, it just is. Is catchy, its powerful, not that meaningful as the lyrics express. Again, no a bad thing its their own brand
@TraderJoe8883 жыл бұрын
@@lizethqp2258 I appreciate what you are saying. There is definitely a "formula" but I would argue that is more structure of the songs then the sound and beats of the songs, which I believe do vary very much from song to song. Take their 4 billion view songs, they sound different and unique to me.

You know after watching the Mv you should watch their behind the scenes as well while making this Mv.

I hope you react to Red velvet, Loona, Twice, Mamamoo and ITZY as they're the girl groups with different concept and cinematic MVs which you might enjoy

Jennie represents power, Lisa represents money, Rosé represents beauty and Jisoo represents fame DDU-DU DDU-DU is a song meant to empower women, and they are saying they are strong and don't need anyone to fill themselves They already have power, money, fame and beauty

Just found this channel recently and lowkey a bit surprised by the dislikes ratio... I'm tryna find the real reasons and for a short impression the only dissapointed POVs were possibly when he stated that he's not into this kind of song nor he doesn't really do a proper deeper breakdown into this D4 MV, but that's okay cuz everyone has their own personal taste and some of them reactors with their own specific expertise always have such an authentic interpretation during the recording time, so yeah nothing's bad about it.. but then again i'm trying to looking forward to the comment section while reading almost all of the written ones, therefore i'm also scrolling down the majority of his current posts and try to watch atleast 30 videos while comparing who's the artists that been on this channel for a while, how much the likes/dislikes ratio in every reaction comparing to this one and also try to differentiate the honest overall interest toward the MV itself especially before this D4 reaction. And yeah... i'm not really surprised anymore about why BP MV got that kind of weird likes/dislikes ratio, i won't say much about it but for whoever you guys who's been long enough in Kpop scene and coincidentally read this thread you'll easily know what i mean since the very beginning...

Agreed, the video was good and the sets were nice but I can't pinpoint the connection of some of the sets/scenes to the song.
