@@chateaupig826 idk. When I found my late husband, I didn't even have the presence of mind to call 911. My father was knocking on my door and I answered the door, I said Dave isn't waking up, he said call 911. I did, I continued to go my husband body while the coroner was there. I tuned everything and everybody out. The police had me sit outside on a chair. He had a heart attack and passed away in June 2000. I still think of him daily. Our kids were young but they didn't find him, but it was explained he went home to Jesus.

It was a flimsy case. The audio witness seemed to be reaching. Sure, it was 70dbs from one room to the next in his/model house, but that can't definitively be said about her home. Too many variables, like insulation, thickness, room layout, etc. I'm assuming the defense also explained the possibility of her nightgown being face up with the "critical areas" they found GSR.

In another episode of Forensic Files, it was a man who fell for a stripper who was using him for money, and he was in debt, and killed two innocent ladies to rob them; this episode is about a married woman who fell for the wrong man who was using her to buy him things. And, Katie’s lover had other women in his life. smh. My my, when are human beings going to learn??? 🙄 Now, in these two stories I mentioned. the perpetrators are in prison for life. Why do people even get married or start a family if they are just going to walk out on their partner and the children? Leave one parent to raise the children alone. Dont pay child support. So sad. Happened to my granddad and started a generational curse cause people cant stay together anymore. Marriage is hard. Divorce mostly hurts the children.

Even a so-called professional silencer does not muffle the sound of a gun enough so that others wouldn't hear the shots. A silencer does not completely silence a weapon it reduces the decibel level some but it does not completely eliminate the noise.

After seeing basically every episode of this show multiple times, I've noticed that they often save the most obvious evidence for the last thing they mention. 13:22 60% of 118dB is 115.8dB. Someone is an idiot. You DOUBLE every 3dB. To quote what I found on a quick Google search: "70 dB is in the middle of this decibel range. It is equivalent to the sound level of a regular washing machine. It is also equivalent to the noise level in an office environment or inside a car driving at 60 mph." That is a noise through which someone could sleep. This case has reasonable doubt. Who can't say that the killer, wearing the night gown, could have been a male that put it on when he killed the husband? Or how about having a pillow as a silencer and took it with them? This is a very weak case at best. Poor detective work. The cops got eager too quickly and charged her. If I was her lawyer, she would have been found innocent. If you want to argue I have two words for you: REASONABLE DOUBT.

So they found gunshot residue on her nightdress and on the bedding and claimed it as proof that she was wearing the nightgown when she shot him because of the location of the residue in the nightdress. Katie claimed that she had left her nightdress on the bed when she left the room. If it was still there when he was shot that could explain the residue. What apparently was not tested for was the distribution of the residue on the bedding. If she was able to indicate where on the bed her night dress was and no gunshot residue was found on the bedding there it means that the nightdress covered the bedding and she was telling the truth. Thats the trouble with forensic evidence. Once it "proves" your theory you tend not to push it further to see if it actually disproves it.

Interesting..in the barrel, the raised portion of the rifling is the land, and portion between the raised portion is the groove. Therefore, on the slug, the raised portion is actually the groove and the lower portion is the land. The slug is a negative image of the barrel.

I hope Katie remembers in prison everyday what she did to her husband because of her affair with a married man who was also a cheater, being married and having affairs with many women. Katie’s punishment will be being in prison…..not because she killed her husband, but for not being together with the “love of her life!” 😂. That will be her worst punishment always. What a fool she was, absolutely a fool. Now, her lover is free continuing having affairs with many other women, and she is in prison. Was it worthy, Katie??? Why not get a divorce like normal people do?? May Joe Doyle Rest in Peace always. 🙏💐

I don't think there's enough evidence to convict the wife. The most solid is the higher amount of gunshot dust in the chest area, and that could've also settled on the gown by it being dropped on the floor. Not fully convinced shes guilty

This one has always bugged me. “Gunshot should have woke her up” Everyone sleeps differently and that varies nightly too.. I’ve been woken up by just a change in air pressure once.. but.. also slept thru a major storm & literal flash flood while in a lean to.. nevermind living next to a major road, you just get used to noise.. especially if you live with a snorer 🙄.. and boy do I 🤪 lol If he didn’t test the sound in the ACTUAL house, acoustics and insulation are completely different too.. Nah.. this one as a “proof” doesn’t sit with me..

I think she was involved but this was a shitty investigation anyway. No GSR on her hands, she called her BF 3ce yet he was somehow excluded from the crime, there was no mention of a probable motive like life insurance policies, divorce proceedings etc, just that she was head over heels for another guy, I guess some would kill for that reason but not solid enough for me if I was a juror in that trial. They also never found the weapon that was used. I mean there are so many holes in this one that I'm shocked they got a conviction.

The gunshot sound testing wasn't scientific at all. Why did the guy test it at his own house? Use the actual crime scene. A closet full of clothes could muffle a lot. Even if he had a closet in the same spot it wouldn't matter because what's in the closet could make all the difference. The a/c at the crime scene could be really loud etc. Too many variables. Even if they tested it at the actual crime scene there would likely be factors they didn't account for. What about how heavy of a sleeper she is, especially after drinking. Just because you would wake up, someone else might not. I have a patio door that makes a loud noise that reminds me of a gunshot (maybe wind or air pressure?). It wakes me up in a cold sweat but my husband doesn't even stir.
