The magnetic timeline follower was the only new option I really liked, or use. The tracker I didn’t really notice much and the Export feature wasn’t worth noting. But thanks.

Great video, and made me jump up, grab my laptop and complete the update. OHHHH and I can't tell you how much I ❤❤❤ the scrolling timeline (I did have to activate it myself). I hadn't specifically realized how much that would improve my editing speed, but I am way ahead on the game for one of my clients already because I was having so much FUN editing some of the upcoming videos for him. HA! I did not have any issues with plugins. Thanks for the tip on compressing the old version first.

Thanks for getting straight to the point. Many other 10.7 videos that are over 30 minutes. Don't have time for that. I gotta get back to editing! I like the colors feature honestly. So I can colorize my clips on the timeline to keep editing notes for clients to go back to at a later date to fix.

Scrolling timeline! YES! Finally! I like it, but it needs to be smoother... it seems a bit jittery to me. Hopefully they can make it scroll as smooth as butter in a future update. On the "Collapse to Connected Storyline" feature... how does this differ from creating a Compound Clip?

This is different. Compound clip is just one clip. The collapse fo Connected Storyline keeps all clips separated.

I think the segmented exportation would be mostly helpful for Motion where rendering a lot of composite layers/graphics can take a notoriously long time This video was so helpful thank you so much!

Motion has been stuck at Version 5 for over 10 years now. It's a great program but it needs to be upgraded more.

You can assign the colors for the audio and video roles. Also, can they please simplify the fade in/out for videos! They did it for audio, why not for video. Like for example, in Da Vinci Resolve you can just go to the beginning or end of a clip, and just drag the fade in/ out feature.

Great Video. Can you show a timer to let you know how long it takes to export a video like Adobe Premiere does? For example, when exporting from the timeline, it'll tell you it will take five minutes to export a file. Can you do this in any previous versions of FCP like 10.6?

Thank you. YOU are a life saver! Two questions 1. I'm doing multicam editing. I've got the main two angles set up in Multi viewer but Camera 3 is not showing up in timeline editor. How do I get it to appear. 2. I shot with three cameras: 1&2 are fine. The 3rd is an iPhone 14Pro that I shot intermittently for cutaways from the speakers and the Q&A. However each shot created as a different angle, a dozen additional angles. Is there a way to combine them? I've already been editing, so of course I don't want to recreate the multicam from scratch. MANY THANKS!

The whole zip file concept is very interesting as having plugins that no longer work is always my biggest fear. But once you open a file in an updated FCP and find out the plugins are an issue, how can you re-open them again with the older FCP version?

Segmented export only works if you have a Max or an Ultra variant of the Apple Silicon chips.

Correct - requires macOS Sonoma (or later) and a Mac with Apple M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2 Max, M2 Ultra, or M3 Max.

They removed the original large room and cathedral effects, now when I try to reverb audio it just isn't the same as it used to be. It goes for too long and doesn't just fade out the audio if that makes sense. I updated it without make a seperate file to go back to. Do you kno of a better way to reverb/echo out audio?
