You could find a pirated copy of FFVII translated into European Spanish, but that translation was full of grammatical errors that made the story incomprehensible Square-Enix has tried to enter the Latin America market, they even dubbed Final Fantasy XVI into Neutral Spanish with a cast of popular VAs, but there's not a lot of interest for the series here

But these days things are much different Sony continues to make very stupid decisions that has resulted in big consequences with the Ps5 being muuuch less popluar compared to the ps4. Meanwhile Nintendo's got their priorties straight and their relationship's with third party developers is so much better than it ever has been. Multiplatform is the smart move for them right now, especially when pretty much every final fantasy game can be played on Switch now.

Most benchmark games to see if their PC can run a game, then drop it as soon as they get bored. I know it won:t happen, but put ff16 on the switch and it will sell. PS1 and PS2 sales tactics don't work in the modern day. Back then we had a bigger proportion of disposable income, consoles were more dominant in the market as Steam etc. wasn't as established. steam sales definitely weren't a thing and they are also competing with video streaming and older games more. With the jumps from PS1>PS2>PS3 you were seeing huge jumps in graphics and performance. Going from PS3>PS4>PS5 it is much less noticible so people are playing older games on the older consoles longer. I liked the FFVII remake and am waiting for the PC release for rebirth. FF15 looked meh but FF16 looks a lot more promising but my game backlock is so full I'm in no rush to pick it up straight away.

But are we sure that the Switch 2 will able to run Final Fantasy VII Rebirth at a decent resolution and framerate, I mean, the game seems to have trouble running on the base PS5 and now they're trying to argue that the game is a reason why people show buy a PS5 Pro. We also don't know if the exclusivity deal between Square-Enix and Sony is still at play, a port of FFVII Rebirth could arrive 5 years after the release of the Switch 2, just like how NieR: Automata was ported to the original Switch 6 years after it originally came out on PS4 and Xbox One, and most people say S-E did because the NieR: Automata anime adaptation was coming soon, just like how SEGA finally decided to relase a Yakuza game on the Switch due to the fact that a Yakuza live-action show will premiere on Prime Video or Guilty Gear: Strive is also coming to the Switch because there's a Guilty Gear anime on the works

I don't think folk understand how crippling the PS5 exclusivity deal actually was. The PS5 doesn't even has half of the user-base of the PS4, which is the reason of why Sony themselves don't really support their own current-gen console with _true_ exclusive games, because if they did they would be limiting themselves to a much smaller market that the previous on they had, that's why they port their “exclusives” to PC and even in some cases still deploy to the PS4: to make up for the audience they lost. Meanwhile Square decided to make their two most anticipated titles exclusive to a console whose owner doesn't even fully supports and unironically tough they would have the same profit margins as they did with multiplafrom titles like XV or XIII. That was the long and short of their poor commercial performance. FFXVI and Rebirth not being turn based games wasn't a major factor, not when ever since FFXI the series hasn't put a game in that style (or even the classic ATB one) and has make bank regardless, hell the most successful game in not only the series but Square's track record (financially speaking) is FFXIV which uses real-time gameplay. Lastly my hot-take is that the _classic_ row-turn/ATB combat doesn't cut it anymore, not when games like Divinity, Baldur's Gate or Wrath of the Righteous exist. If they do want to make a turn based FF they should _inspire_ themselves by cRPGs or bring back the Tactics sub-series back (preferably that last one).

But with all the other titles out there it's getting harder and harder to stand out. SE was always my biggest favorite but in the last years and months they failed to deliver. XVI was pretty good but the sudden change from "we're saving the world and everyone on it" to "we are treated like slaves and lost so many innocents on the way" kinda drove me mad 😅 I really love the game but my saviour complex has a hard time playing it xD FF7 was a desaster, I didn't enjoy it at all. Even Nintendo games received translations in Neutral Spanish and Portuguese since 2007. Square-Enix should have tried to raise some awareness for the Final Fantasy series in other regions ages ago
