I played the remake. My opinion is yo u play the game for the while package. I mean by that is you don’t get it for smth specific like combat mechanic or exploration, or story, but you get it for all of these things, weather it’s combat, cutscenes character development, story, silly moments, flashy gameplay, epic moments, really good music, mechanics that get interduced once and are never used again, unique encounters weathers it’s a mission or a character, it’s all those things, cause one of them is just not good enough to make you play the game. All these combined makes the game a blast, but keep in mind that it will make replaybility after beating the game boring if you care about that. Of course, of of this is my experience and opinion after playing the game

I platinumed (100%) both remake and intermission DLC Currently trying to platinum rebirth 200 hours in , Its just freaking epic. If theres a sale that includes remake integrade bundle, u should take it. The game is amazing, one of the best combat systems ever. You can play it like classic final fantasy, or you can parry everything like sekhiro, choice is yours

This is perfect. Already have this game on PS5 collector edition but this one game trilogy in my opinion is worth eternalizing its glamour, action, characters and their individual developments, and theme of the story on your hard drives.

Can you use other peoples saves on Steam? I played this twice on Ps5 did all the side quests and VR missions. I want to play again on hardmode but I dont want to do EVERYTHING again

Usually no. Platform to platform saves are almost never possible unless you are emulating another console, because then your machine is TRYING to be like the other. So, if you were to "emulate" a PS5, that would be the only thing I think of. Just my guess, to answer your question, though.

there is no mention of ultrawide support and Remake on PC didn't have it either so my guess no it won't have it. but I'm sure Modders will add it in. Ultra-wide support is a very niche market and since this is a console port i doubt, they would invest the extra money on a niche feature

Pssr on ps5 pro fixed it. So betting dlss / dlaa will do the same. The base ps5 code used a bilinear AA upscale that looked bad. Don't know why they didn't use fsr 2 on the base ps5. Would have looked somewhat better than whatever the fuck it shipped with.

the PS5 has a GPU equivalent to a RX 6700 well cutback and the PS5 Pro has a GPU close to a RX6800 so at 1440p your CPU will still be a limiting factor. so if you have a weaker CPU then itll struggle to maintain a 60fps if youre trying to max out the NPC count

I would have loved to played this game with VRR support on my PS5. I played 4k30 with no issues but somewhere between 1440-1800 with 40-45 frames, sigh. I really enjoyed playing Hogwarts legacy with VRR. Maybe one day (most likely not, but one can dream).

the game is running UE4 so even if it has poor resource management you can still customize the settings using a custom ini file which is what many people did on Remake for PC to get better performance.

Why is the frame rate capped at 120fps? 120fps is great but wouldn't it be better to have the frame rate completely uncapped so that future high end hardware can get more out of this game?

my guess since this is a console Port and not made from the ground up certain physics animations are still tied to the PS5 architecture and that game had FPS limit of 60. so going higher then that might break the game on some FPS so 120 is most likely the highest they can go without breaking the game and having to redo the whole code form scratch which could have taken alot longer then what they were given by Square Enix

there is a lot of filler in rebirth and lore changes compared to og ff7 , i recommend you focus on the main story and chapter select if you want to try out the extras they are nice to explore but they shouldnt be the "game" if you know what i mean .

That's the difference between a remake and a remaster. A remake reimagines the game and is remade from the ground up. Storyboarding, everything. Where-as a remaster is just updating the graphics and maybe adding some quality of life improvements.

It can be a 1:1 recreation that changes nothing at all but as long as its rebuilt from the ground up its a remake. Yakuza Kiwami, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Dead Space ps5 are damn near identical to the original games, but they are not remasters. They're remakes. A remaster is taking the existing product and sprucing it up. Like the recent Tomb Raider, Lolipop Chainsaw or Metroid Prime releases. Under the hood its the same old game. If the new FF7 was the exact same story and kept the PS1 versions gameplay, just with all the new graphics, voice work, music etc, it would still be a remake.
