Final Fantasy 9 - Brotherly Love, Zidane and Kuja

The battles are over and the party has a chance to escape but Zidane decides to stay at the Lifa Tree to help his brother and arch nemesis Kuja who is dying in the tree. Thanks for watching and enjoy,

One of the best final scenes all ff combined, Zidane accepting his bond with Kuja and therefore his origins and Kuja acknowledging the necessity of someone close to him before dying, just damn great.

Kuja was always my favourite character in Final Fantasy 9 and I always understood him. He did bad things, but he was Not evil; his creator, Garland, was the evil one. -Kairyn

I saw this scene a second time and felt emotions when kuja dies.i felt zidane did the right thing trying to save kuja.

I don't think Kuja died, otherwise Zidane would have rejoined his friends a lot sooner than he did. From the sounds of it, he was gone at least a few months since Vivi died during that time and Garnet was pretty much trying to resign herself to the fact that Zidane was probably dead. I think Kuja survived and Zidane stayed with him until Kuja was recovered and then Kuja goes into hiding. I also don't think Garland really put that short of a lifespan on Kuja.

If Garland didn't then all the tragedy about Kuja wouldn't make sense, also it's a great moment that he finally accepts someone close to him before passing out imo Still wondering about that big impact effect inside the Ifa just after the branches got them, was it Kuja's last work or Zidane's powers showing up?

Sure Zidane’s a pervert but he’s also kind and caring. It was nice of him to try and save Kuja despite Kuja’s actions. They’re the best protagonist antagonist paring like someone said. ^_^

One of the best scenes in the entire game.....Zidane performed straight-up *PARKOUR* here, running across the roots and all so easily to get to Kuja....which just showcases how badass he is, he truly is the *"Worthy Genome".*

I find it very hard to believe that Kuja would have died after he attained trance.Garland said he only gave his soul enough charge for so long but then he gained it on his own. I think that maybe he'd have lived on except well He went nuts

Didn’t he absorb other souls, including Queen Brahne’s, in order to attain trance? I wonder if those extra souls increased his lifespan at all. Either way, it is kind of awesome that this game leaves the player to assume whether Kuja lived or died.

I have a feeling that 4 and 9 are more similar than one would think. The entire dilemma of war and the consequences of it, travels to other planets, main character being connected with aliens and etc. But at the same time they're still very different and I love both of them for this 🥰
