I agree that Barret should punch Cloud more often too🥴😂. Anyway, apparently in Japanese Aerith says “it’s gonna be okay”. Fact check me, but people seem confused as to why they took it out of the English version.

This is probably one of the most interesting chapters yet for me. The Gongaga region was the most beautiful and interesting of all. As a Zack fan, this was a bittersweet chapter so full of dramatic irony. There are a few points you bring up which bring questions for part 3. 1 - Why can Cissnei see the whispers? 2 - How do the world mechanics work as you mention? 3 - What does Aerith know of Zack being in another world? Does she know? Also I was wondering, why not use some of the Before Crisis Turks such as Katana who is actually from Gongaga... he kind of has some of Zack's looks and could possibly be a cousin??? I thought maybe they should have made Gongaga a little bigger since it's the biggest village in the region. Sotetsu quest was really cool as you got your first Guest party member with HP... I enjoyed this quest, but in the future for guest party members, they should give you stats for them like letting them show up in the menu screen. Maybe give them a level that's generic for the area, like level 30 and allow the players to potentially level him up a little and give him a couple of generic moves. Like a power thrust, quick double jab, and just a couple normal combo attacks since they are only guest party members. It's like having an unofficial 4th party member which is kind of interesting and adds a different dynamic to the battle. They could have had Rhonda, Zangan, Johnny, and perhaps other interesting NPCs as guest party members which would be cool as temporary helpers for certain quests. I hope in part 3 we get to play as Cissnei. I still think they should have Roche's past tie into Nibelheim being that shinra guard who was swept down the stream giving him a real connection to Cloud.

I took the lifestream moment as Tifa is killed and drowned. Then Weapon resurrects her from the lifestream. I viewed this as how powerful the weapons are, that they are part of the lifestream and it fit with how the rest of the games goes with the “multi-verse” and the characters who show up in it Also how Tifa is able to see both versions of Aeriths death scene at the end

Been looking forward to this chapter. There's so much to talk about. I've noticed how much less the fan base looks to Scarlet. I'm happy you noticed the Whisper detail with her, because I did not! I'd like to see just how evil they make this character. Here is how evil they could make her if they wanted to. Before Scarlet dies after her final fight with the party in during Midgar Raid, she tells Tifa that her Junon gas chamber or Stagnant Mako Chamber rendered Tifa unable to ever have any children. Such an action would make Scarlet one of the most personally hated villains in the series. It would amplify Shinra evil, and it would shock and infuriate many fans to the point of tears. It would also imply a beautiful gesture from Barret to Tifa, adding new context to 'On the Way to a Smile' and AC with the subtextual message that he gave Marlene to Tifa because of this. If your enemy is Sephiroth, he'll take away your mother. If your enemy is Hojo, he'll take away your lover. If your enemy is Scarlet she'll take away your children! If you want theft and loss, then there it is. Let's get some traumatizing displays of evil in part 3!

Oh Gawd, I hope "Omni" Aerith doesn't steal Tifa's moment in the Lifestream! And I hope Zack's parents get closure as well not to mention Cissnei. We need to find our her real name!

@@FVD yeah, I don't even know why she would mention her "real name." Does that have some kind of significance? If she goes by Cissnei and that is the name that everybody knows, what does it matter if she used to go by something else?

Sephiroth knows if he severs Cloud/Tifa connection his plans will succeed. Tifa is the foundation for the Cloud. The creators definitely changed the relationship between them. Well, the original, they ended up closer later than this early. You see the loss once the Geostigma occurs in Advent Children.

The “mouthed” dialogue by Aerith is ONLY an issue in the English version. If you play the chapter in any other language, they outright tell you what she says. It is irrelevant; she says something like “I’m relieved” which has no real consequence.

The cloud downfall and the cloud come back might be a lot for the last game, but I do look forward to seeing what they give us and where they go with the story. I guess the best thing about the changed story is they are trying to make it seem that there's no way you can guess the ending, but make it feel like you should know with what they have currently given us.

So my own little theory regarding Cissnei is that she is the reason a "dream" world where Zack lives exists. She says she still feels he is gonna appear at somepoint and waits for him. Now, who was supposed to save Zack at the end of Crisis Core? Cissnei. Who says she feels like she took a part of his life away and has guilt? Cissnei. What happens in the scene where Zack lives? a bullet gets moved and he is saved = Her dream/wish of being there to actually save him. Zack thinks it's Aerith who saved him but the twist will be it was the Girl who has yet to tell him her real name. At the end of remake Aerith gets hit by Cissneis dream/wish of Zack surviving escaping the Harbinger of Fate which is why she looks shocked in a brief shot we get of her reaction. Remember, Aerith has moved on from Zack and just accepted something happened but Cissnei knows the truth that Shinra troops were gonna kill him and she was even tasked to save him but somehow failed (bugs me that we still don't know what happened there) There is also the line from Aerith that she says to Cissnei that sticks out to me when Cissnei says "there's nothing we can do to stop what's coming." and Aerith says "I bet you could, if anyone" Like, huh? What would make you say that Aerith? like you know more about her than you are letting on? hmmm So yeah, in short I think Cissnei is the reason there's a world where Zack lives and "omni Aerith" senses it and guides him like we see in Rebirth. Honestly I more hyped to finally get closure on what happened with Cissnei failing to save Zack and those two meeting again and finding out her real name than I am for Aerith and Zack meeting again. Aerith makes it clear multible times in Remake/Rebirth that She has moved on so dwelling on that side of things just seems so boring storywise but I suppose that starts dabbling in Shipper nonsense wars so I won't ramble on that.

This is such a reach.....So Cisne is the portugeuse/spanish word for *Swan* Now there's this passage from "The Song of the Hyperborean Swan" "Tis said that Hyperboreans of Pallene can cover all their bodies with light plumes by plunging nine times in Minerva's [Athena's] marsh [i.e. a lake of bitumen]." "[N.B. The bitumen marsh is presumably the mythical swamp of the Eridanos into which Phaethon was cast after being struck from the chariot of the sun by a thunderbolt of Zeus. The Hyperborean swans were said to rise from its waters. In Ovid's story the Hyperborean folk themselves become swans after bathing in the waters.]" Lord I feel like Charlie Day with ALL the red string..but who knows. SE does love pulling stuff out of Mythology.

@@MrLightlike78 while Minerva being involved storywise would be awesome, ever since Crisis Core she has been a little plot enigma of mine, I can’t see them introducing her in a main story capacity. I feel suddenly introducing a literal god would be too much of an addition, unless it’s tied to Knights of The Round which I’m certain will be a main story plot point in part 3. It’s also not clear if she really even exists or if she was just a vision created by the lifestream for Genesis. I know the CC ultimania mentions her but it could also easily be retconned to be just a vision Genesis had via the lifestream. The concept art of Minerva in the Crisis Core ultimania (think it was the ultimania, either way it’s floating about somewhere on the net) does show her in more casual clothing though so maybe at one point in development they did have a idea to include her in the story with actual lines but who knows on that front. My personal theory (here I go again lol) is that Minerva will either be her own summon OR, the more hype option imo, she will be the final strike in Knights of The Round. Instead of it ending with the sword strike it ends with her Judgement Arrow. The knights and Minerva being the original party who first defeated Jenova. That would make me fangasm I’m not even gonna lie. Basically the knights all served Minerva and she was the Aerith of that party and the Knights are basically her worlds time period version of Cloud, Barret, Tifa and the rest.

@@Sector6UK Also, random food for thought that dawned on me the other day is when all the party take turns attacking Jenova at the end of Rebirth it kinda visually resembles Knights of the Round, it even ends in a charge up move like Knights of the Round with Barret, Tifa and Cloud. Not something I've seen anyone mention. Probably have but I haven't seen them at least lol

I think Cissnei represents the amalgamated protagonists from Before Crisis. That'd explain her knowledge of Cait Sith, and it'd streamline the official canon, since there were 3 or 4 character options to choose from that definitely don't all exist. That said, I don't know precisely how much of that story is canon, but it introduced Azul "the Cerulean" from Dirge, though they at least claimed, in story, that the fall of the Sector 6 plate wasn't Weapon-related, so who knows. She would know Elfe pretty intimately, if they go that route. Thanks for the videos. Looking forward to your thoughts on Cid.

*groans into my Sephiroth pillow sadly* Sephiroth basically is using Cloud as a pawn /puppet to do his bidding and also messing around with Cloud while doing it. What could that man be planning? 🤔🤔The road in Rebirth Part 3 is easily going to get much, much darker before we see any light at the end of the tunnel. We still need to have Cloud go through his dark side arc and then build himself back up to be the hero everyone needs him to be.

So I almost mentioned this in the video, I wasn't sure if when the weapon "shouts" at the whispers it eats some of them. And then when Sephiroth attacks he frees them? I'm not sure, maybe it's the energy he pumps into his attack on weapon and it just manifests as whispers, could be a few things tbh!

The more I learn about Cissnei, the more I dislike her. Okay, yes, it's nice that she looks after Zack's parents, but she doesn't even have the decency to let them know what happened to him, leaving them in torturous limbo. As soon as she sees Cloud, she immediately starts withholding the truth from him. He obviously doesn't remember her, but in typical Cissnei fashion, keeping her secrets is more important than anything. Part of why Cloud is so messed up is that nobody tells him the truth. Tifa and Aerith do this too, but Cissnei knows what happened and doesn't care to tell him. Also, if Cissnei knew about what happened to Zack, that is something that Aerith would like to know, but again, her secrets are more important than anyone else's state of mind. Also, thanks for your explanation that the green flashes of static are Jenova manipulations. Having only played Remake and Rebirth, I found it was never clear that that's what it is. The game makes more sense with that knowledge, although I struggle with what Jenova's motivations are at any given moment.

They probably wont...but I'd like them to play with that a little bit in part 3 as Cissnei and Tifa both share this trait and a conversation between them about this would be kind of great for both characters development. Either way, hard agree...at the very least Ciss needs to tell the Fair's your boi is dead.

@@peppergirlrocks yes, I get that from a story perspective. They have the character withhold information because they don't want the audience to know. But from a character perspective, it makes Cissnei a terrible person.
