Not really true. Linus Tech Tips used to have videos where he got some average intern vs the tech gurus to see if they can spot the visual quality improvements. Close to all the average interns could not spot anything. The gurus will point at some edge fringing at some obscure part of the screen and say there there that's why the uber expensive GPU is worth it.

The "recommended medium" gpu spec is slightly above what the base ps5 is running at (6700 non-xt 16gb).

That depends on where you are in the middle class and where you live. Middle class in the US is 50k-170k. So if you’re at 100K+ in a slower economy state, it isn’t that expensive 🤷‍♂️

RTX 5070 will not have the same performance speed as 4090 5070 got the same performance as the 4090 with 4x frame generation where the 4090 had 2x so the 5070 would be around 60% slower then the 4090 with raw performance and around 20-30% faster then the 4070 without frame generation

I think 4070 super/7800xt/7800gre should be fine on 2k if 7900xt is recc'd for 4k.

I managed to pretty easily get 4K 120FPS for Remake on my 3090. I know the 3090 isn’t as powerful as the 4080 but hoping I can still get decent frame rates at 4K with my 3090 for Rebirth. I’m assuming it’ll manage at least 60 and will probably sit somewhere between 80-90, although it will depend on how SE does with the port.

How are the requirements for this game higher than Remake, if they used the PS5 version to port to PC and they used the same engine as Remake?

more geometry. Remake was Linear closed hallways. This is open world plus the geometry is through the roof. Remake was a PS4 game. Rebirth is PS5. So naturally it will be harder to run.

I'm actually playing Rebirth on my PS5 Pro right now and very disappointed plus annoyed of how much pop in is in the game. I think I might have to get the Pc version to get a better experience.

wonder if that's a settings issue, if the draw distance slider is at notch 3 on a 4-notch slider, it won't be much better at 4.

I played it on Pro after putting it down on base PS5. The pop-in is so bad on Pro, but at least the resolution is better. I ended up putting it down again on Pro, but will pick it up again on PC to play on my 4080S. Glad to see the lighting model is redone on PC and looking forward to 4k 120fps with an actual far draw distance for LOD this time around. Oh, and mods.

I’m actually playing it on PC now and it looks amazing feels amazing. The only setback I have is it doesn’t support ultra white which is very disappointing. Hopefully they add that to rebirth but in the trailer, I didn’t see anything that says it supports ultra wide, which I don’t understand why they don’t add that knowing that there’s a lot of people out there that use ultra wide for adventure games

lol 5080 for ultra settings. My base ps5 played it on quality setting just fine. I couldn’t wait the pc port and won’t be replaying on my 3090ti

I also couldn't wait, but played it on ps5 every day changing between quality/performance, I just really couldn't get used to the 30FPS of quality, but also the blurry mess of the performance mode was so bad lol, it really affected my experience of this otherwise awesome game. Can't wait to give it a replay now having best of both worlds. I really hope they release the third game on PC day 1, so we don't have to go through this shit again.
