For a native speaker and someone who watches shows in German on a regular base I have to admit that the German Dub ist surprisingly good. German Dub isn't always the best but FF7 Remake definitly nailed it.

Rupert Jung in Japanese it is meant to be “lend me your power” Romaji: chikara o kashite kudasai (something like that). Original voices are Japanese after all. German translation is way better... And that is just sad since English community is a lot bigger... FAIL

Especially if you watch the scene after sector 7 collapsed... in the English version you can literally feel how lost Barret is.. this scene gave me goosebumps... the German version does not feel right but if the translation is closer to the original version, I've to play it again :-D

I know what you mean. His German voice from AC suited him best. I don't mind his current voice however. Thinking that the movie was released more than ten years ago it would be difficult to reach out to the old voice actors. I am glad that at least Aerith and Tifa seem to have the same voice as in the movie.

For those of you who are curious:Sephiroth‘s German voice actor isn’t Simon Jäger who was his original voice in the German movie and kingdom hearts which is unfortunate because that voice was so fitting.Same goes for cloud who was voiced by Björn Schalla.

You will never imagine how lucky I feel to understand all 3 languages. I am smiling of the bottom of my heart. And I have to say it is incredible, what all these voice actors have accomplished to bring these characters to life in each language. Ich muss schon sagen, normalerweise spiele und schaue ich Medien immer in ihrer originalen Sprache, aber die deutsche Übersetzung von FF7 ist verdammt gut. ゲームをプレイしている中、心の底から泣いたり笑ったりしました。私が感じたような喜びを、皆さんにも感じていただけたら幸いです。そして、このような素晴らしい作品を私たちに与えてくれたクリエイターに心から感謝しています。

Ich muss sagen die deutsche Synchro hat mich echt überrascht. Ich war anfangs auch enttäuscht das Simon Jäger nicht Sephiroth spricht, aber sein Ersatz ist auch nicht übel. Mit der Zeit hab ich mich an alle gewöhnt und freue mich auf part 2.

Habe den Film in allen drei Sprachen gesehen und muss sagen, dass die deutsche Sprachausgabe sehr gut gelungen war. Besser als die englische, aber nicht als die japanische. Die hat einfach mehr Emotionen in den Stimmen. 😊

okay, so barret sounds good in 2, english and german. cloud sounds weird in german, doesnt quite match as well as sephitroth. tifa sounds best in japanese as i think in the rest of the cast will probably be.

Voice actors did a good job here. But the translators obviously just wrote what they liked, didn't matter if the meaning was different.

I don't understand the difference in dialogue. The voice acting sounds nice for all but the difference in dialogue favors the Japanese. In the end, since I have been playing this series when I was 11 years old, it is kind of nice to able to play it in Japanese.

It's really dumb, to live in Japan, buy the Japanese version.... and there isn't a way to make it English.... its 2020, even Nintendo games lets you switch language based on the system settings.

I‘m German and usually watch films in English/OV. I started playing in English with a console’s language in German, so my voices were English but all texts, subtitles etc. were German. It was aweful, nothing matched and it was hard to follow because you were reading the one thing but hearing a complete different thing. After the two first fights I switched the console‘s language to English as well. Way better! So after playing the whole game in English, the German dub sounds really bad. Aerith and Sephiroth are ok, but Cloud? Oh boy... And these huge differences... I loved that Cloud shouts „Bam!“ while using Thunder - and to be honest: in German? „Gewitter!“? Seriously? 🙈

I tried playing this in Japanese and, I actually really hated Barrett’s voice - it just doesn’t fit him at all. Tifa’s was ok, but it got a little too cutesy sounding for me after listening to it for a while. Their English voices fit the best for me, just my personal taste.

Der deutsche cloud ist die Stimme von Yami-Yugi, und 1000 anderer Anime. Also nicht gerade ein Anfänger 😅 aber ich bin da trotzdem bei dir. Hätten sie die Stimme aus ac genommen, wäre ich bei Deutsch geblieben gewesen, aber so spiele ich es lieber auf englisch.

Now with these comparisons...Cloud's German voice sounds even more terrible than it already does...Why didn't they keep the old guy for him? And Sephiroth, too? I think only Tifa stayed the same here :/ Like I mean compared to Advent Children. I think I'll have to play it in Engl just to avoid Cloud's terrible voice...(everyone else sound great though and it's out of the question that Engl and Jap are perfect)

Die Deutsche Synchro wird nicht schlecht.. aber die Übersetzung ist einfach wieder n Kathastrophe... Er sagt "Auf mein Zeichen" und übersetzt wird es "Moment".. Why? xD.. "i feel trapped.." - Ich weiß nicht weiter..." Ouhff so anstrengend. Das ist der Hauptgrund es auf Japanisch zu spielen mit Englischen Untertiteln. ;DD auch wenn ich die Deutschen Stimmen sehr sehr liebe. Aber so hat Man n Grund es tausend Ma´l auf jeder Sprache zu zocken *--*

japanisch ist das einzig original. wer sagt dir, dass die englische übersetzung richtig ist? japanisch mit englischen subs kann dir genauso viele übersetzungsfehler geben wie mit deutschen subs da du japanisch nicht verstehst (so wie die meisten)

@Vulgar Tale du hast vollkommen recht. habe mir auch noch nen paar videos angeguckt, und es stimmt: die deutsche Übersetzung hält sich ziemlich stark ans original, wohingegen die englische übersetzung gerne mal macht was sie will. ich gebe aber zu, dass ich mich früher bei FFX und XIII aufgeregt habe, wenn die deutschen untertitel nicht zur englischen vertonung gepasst haben. mittlerweile weiß ich aber, dass es einfach daran lag, dass die untertitel nicht die vertonung übersetzt haben, sondern das japanische. sprich wenn sich vertonung und untertitel unterschieden haben, lag das daran, dass sie bei der synchro Sachen ausm original verändert haben. wenn der ursprüngliche kommentarverfasser es nicht glauben will, sag mir Bescheid die links zu den videos find ich noch in meinem verlauf

Ich verstehe ein wenig japanisch und kann bestätigen, dass die deutsche Übersetzung genau der japanischen entspricht. Die englische Version lässt sich hier mehr Spielraum. Ich denke diese Anpassungen sind im USAmerikanischen Raum auch notwendig um sie zugänglicher zu machen. Amerikaner kommunizieren meist lebhafter. Die englische Übersetzung passt sich dem an.

@@spyro440 ich hoffe du meinst die englischen übersetzer. wie hier mehrfach gesagt wurde, ist es nämlich die englische Übersetzung die "falsch" ist. die deutsche hält sich streng ans japanische, im Gegensatz zur englischen. deswegen unterscheiden sich deutsch und englisch

I would never buy the German version even though I'm german myself. Prefer the english and the Japanese one. Jessie just sounds so off in german, the voice doesn't fit her. Tifa sounds best there.
