Thats the second VA for Reno I'm aware of passing away. The other one is the German voice actor for Both Reno( in Advent Children only) and Axel(from Kingdom Hearts) who Passed away in a skiing Accident, some time before the Remake was even announced.

@@GraeCrypt as far as i know this happend in other ff games as well. The german translation has been pretty literal to the japanese script. I have heard, that the english translation focused more on getting the feeling right instead of trying to translate word by word At least thats what i have heard But i have to say that i really apreciate the english script! I am german but i love playing with english audio. (Although it was kinda confusing sometimes, reading something and listening to something completely different lol)

Yea, when I played the game I used the English dub with German texts, it's so weird in German, more censored and sometimes it feels like they're saying quite the opposite, as it is in the English dub. In English the call Cloud a Mercenary in German he is the "Alleskönner" (All-rounder) 😅

I’m really amazed at the quality of the English dub. Most English dubs for JRPGs are painful at best, but they REALLY put the work (and the money!) in. I mean, I guess they would have had to be crazy not to, given how important this game is to the western/north american market specifically.

Clouds german voice first annoyed me because in ac he had such a great va but after some time i really started to like the new one because he is able to make Cloud sound cool but also very sweet an vulnerable in some scenes. But we also got aeris and tifas original va! Only rufus sounds like spongebob...

As someone who usually perfers JPN dubs. I have to say this time around i'm playing FF7R in English dub, sounds better and more fitting and BARRET. This guy alone makes English dub better haha

i disagree. I think English is the weakest here. But i blame this vid because it didnt pick best scenes. French i think is best sounding. Watch more vids of FF7 remake french, i think french is a tad bit better than japanese in this case. But i consider english the weakest in this game.. I have no idea where to place german.. but i was planning on playing this game in french once i saw how good it was by finding some vids of it. German is just meh to me, not liking it awhole lot. Reason is Cloud sounds so incredibly monotone, its just so bad. In french Cloud is serious leader but can emote. So i like it alot.

@@kejiri3593 I agree. I like Barretts voice, but Cloud, Sephiroth and Red XIII all had general American accents which were quite monotone and did not sound good/match for the characters for me. This could be because I am a native English speaker from outside US who grew up with the original game imagining different voices for all the characters. I will be playing on Japanese or French with English subs

@@cigh7445 I was sceptical of Cloud at first. But if you go to the part in the demo where Cloud says "Different reactors, different layouts. Never seen anything like this before... but i'll manage" and you compare the overall milkface he has in the PS1 meny avatar (original PS1 not PC or PS4 remaster etc) they are different trust me :P. But after hearing more takes i can picture Cloud could sound like that in English. Aeris i was sceptical for long til new takes came where it came across as quiet but can also be a ruckus, how i pictured her in PS1. Tifa is still only one i am not feeling. But the overall voice direction i think was well done in French version. So its why i overall prefer it! But sounds awesome though : D

I for one like the dub. I can see they put effort in finding the correct va for each role. I normally don't like to watch anything in dub but ff7 remake is an exceptionm beside I prefer cloud English va more than the Japanese dub. I also like tifa dub more.

I personally love Japanese dub the most since the AC movie and the best thing SE did is bring back the entire (almost?) same cast to do the remake. Everything sounds familiar and have a feeling like " I knew these people a long time ago" which makes the gaming experience more immersive. English dub casts are good in their own right but they don't process the emotion equally good as the Japanese...its also a pity that they changed the casts too.

@Jérémie vraiment ? Pour moi Brianna White est parfaite en Aerith. Avez-vous déjà rencontrer dans la vrai vie quelqu'un qui parle naturellement comme la Aerith de la version française ? Pour moi il n'y a que les Vocaloid comme Hatsune Miku qui parle à ces niveaux là. J'aime bien Hatsune Miku. mais cela va avec son look animé. Tandis qu'Aerith a l'air plus humaine, donc je m'attend à des voix plus réalistes. Mais bon, c'est super si tu aimes la VF, j'imagine que cela va avec les préférences en France et que c'est parfait pour vous. Je décroche surtout à cause de l'argot utilisé (je ne comprend tout simplement pas les expressions) et le ton de voix qui est trop enfantin pour Tifa et Aerith. Bref, il faut éviter l'Argot dans les VF parce que ce n'est pas réaliste, à moins que le jeux se déroule en France...

Je suis sûr que le coût de la VF est beaucoup plus bas que la VA. Il y a une grande différence de qualité. être plus proche de la version japonaise crée des problèmes culturels : Cloud qui se sent menacer par Aerith, cela ne marche pas. Bref, la VA est bien meilleure à cause du casting et de l'adaptation.

Et tu à le droit d'avoir ton opinion mais dans la VA ya plein de trucs qui ont été dénaturé et c'est décrié partout sur twitter. À un tel point que les gens retraduisent. Si Cloud se sent intimidé par Aerith ça veut dire que c'est la même chose dans la version jap donc c'est correcte ainsi. D'ailleurs en anglais ils on changé plein de trucs à Sephiroth qui ne font pas de sens en anglais, par exemple dans une scène il dira I am your everything alors qu'en fr ce sera Je suis ton seul et unique maitre, ce qui fait beaucoup plus de sens si on connait le passé de Sephiroth et ce qui est arrivé à Cloud dans son passé. Dans une autre scène il dire Hold on to that hatred et en français ce sera C'est très bien, tâche de ne pas m'oublier, ce qui fait écho à Advent children. Les anglais sont déçu car leur doublage a dénaturé le texte d'origine alors que nous rien a été ou presque dénaturé. La seul chose que je reproche c'est que Tifa et Aerith on des voix enfantines mais ça s'oublie asser vite.

J'ai pensé la même chose. Pourtant, mise à part Barret et Aerith, tous les personnages sont doublés par les même comédiens que dans le film Final Fantasy VII Advent Children et Kingdom Hearts 1 et 2. Et autant je trouvais qu'ils se débrouillaient très bien dans les 2 premiers Kindom Hearts et Advent Children, autant là, leurs performances ne sont pas top. Donc, je pense aussi que les doublages des bandes annonces ont été fait un peu à la vas vite. Et j'espère que cela sera corrigé dans le jeu final. Pour ce qui est de la version américaine, elle ne m'a pas tellement convaincu (Sauf pour Barret), mais là cela n'est que mon pur ressentit personnel. Par contre, je trouve la version japonaise impeccable. Il n'y a rien de plus à rajouter. Sinon, j'ai lu le commentaire d'une personne dans un topique du forum FF7.fr comme quoi la voix de Tifa Lockhart faisait "voix d'ado" dans la vf. Ce dont je ne suis absolument pas d'accord, et au contraire je la trouve très bien comme cela (C'est la voix de Jessica Barrier, je crois). Déjà, Tifa est assez jeune (Elle a 20 ans quand même), et je trouve que cela renforce le côté bienveillant et maternel de Tifa.

@@erzafarron : C'est clair, la plupart des protagonistes de Final Fantasy VII ont le début de la vingtaine : 21 ans pour Cloud Strife, 20 ans pour Tifa Lockheart, 22 ans pour Aerith Gainsborough. Typiquement, je trouve que Tifa a une voix trop grave dans la version américaine, mais j'imagine qu'en contre partie, cela doit lui donner un côté badass dans les combats. Par contre, dans la version japonaise (Voix de Ayumi Ito), sa voix est juste niquel chrome. Et pour ce qui est des comédiens, à la base, ils ne viennent effectivement pas de nul part. Seulement, dans les bandes annonces de Final Fantasy VII Remake, ils sont clairement en dessous de leurs capacités réelles. En bref, cela ne va pas. Et sinon, je suis déçus que ce ne soit pas Michel Vigné qui double Barret Wallace (Doublé ici par Frédéric Souterelle, qui est quand même la voix française de Chopper dans Overwatch ou encore Kratos depuis God of War Ascension), ni Marie-Eugénie Maréchal qui double Aerith (Ici doublée par Barbara Tissier apparemment, voix française régulière de Cameron Diaz et Fiona dans Shrek). Surtout que la voix d'Aerith dans ces bandes annonces est juste catastrophique. Cela ne colle absolument pas avec le personnage !

Le doublage français de la vidéo est vraiment de mauvaise qualité. Je ne comprends pas qu'ils prennent le risque de publié un doublage si médiocre. Tous le reste du jeu est très poli et léché. Ce doublage jure avec le reste. C'est vraiment trop con. Je veux le doublage en anglais, je ne veux pas entendre des abération comme "aÉrisse" ou de l'argot parisien. Pourquoi pas "klOUde" tant qu'on y est. prononcer Aerith ce n'est pas compliqué. AE devient É. comme Égypte du Latin Aegyptus, on ne dit pas AÉgypte. Puis si vous voulez jouer dans anglicisation, au moins prononcé "Érisse" Mais je préfére Aerith avec un "th" a la fin, c'est plus exotic. Puis "th" ne se prononce pas comme un "s" ni comme un "z". C'est T avec un H aspiré.

@@erzafarron je pense que Square-Enix a fait une énorme gaffe. les voix en français ne convient à aucun des personnages. S'ils ont des l'expérience c'est dans le doublage rapide de basse qualité car les studios ne pensent pas que les doublages de jeux vidéo soient aussi important que celuj des films étranger. 2/3 sur les doublages de jeux vidéos sont moins bons que leur version Britannique ou Américaine. J'ai l'impression de revivre l'époque de Resident Evil 1, cela sonne aussi faux à mes oreilles que le fameux "Jill sandwich". Je voudrais un bon doublage en français qui évite l'argot parisien avec des voix normales....

But i blame this vid for not picking better scenes like example "elevator part where Barret goes all out on Cloud" in french it sounds like his lungs is about to burst like he expect Cloud to take him seriously. Much more powerful. I think English is the weakest, mainly because of how monotone Cloud sounds like in English is my main problem. In french he has emotions, serious leader but can emote. I recommend watching more French vids of FF7 remake. Gonna play it with this audio, with subs if possible. In my view really impressed with voice selection in french!. German i dont like it awhole lot. But i was planning on French either way since i saw it accidentally and saw how good it was. Japanese.. its good but i prefer French over it.

Im aktuellen Game Awards Trailer haben sie Clouds Voice-Direction deutlich verbessert. Ich werde es zwar erstmal in japanisch spielen, aber inzwischen kann ich mir auch 'nen Playthrough in Deutsch irgendwann ganz gut vorstellen.

It's so funny how French people don't like the French one and German people don't like the German one and non-American English speakers don't like the English one. In Europe we will all be swapping languages for the game 😛

@@cigh7445 its a well known phenomenon. That is because the lip sync and the choice of words aren't completely natural to the respective language. The english version got a custom lip sync so for the americans it sounds great and natural, but all other languages have to use either tje japanese or the english lip movements, that is why there are sometimes awkward pauses mid sentence, because the english dub has finished the sentence and is waiting a second to start the next one.
