Bandai did not care much for anime, but they knew it sold, so they hired the best people they could find to make a tie-in anime to go along with the games, simply to sell more games, on top of that, they made a stellar game, which is now rare as hell to find in the wild, and there are zero ports or remakes for that quadrillogy.

When you add Advent Children’s badass cinematography and the campy hilarious comedy of the OG we have this perfect experience. I love how they keep the scene where everyone introduces themselves with their own made-up title. Another nice detail is how Cloud throws his sword and has to catch it later so he holds it backhand, because that was how Cloud holds his sword in the motorcycle chase mini game in the OG. So the remake kinda “explain” that oddity of the original but then later on has Cloud holds the sword normally, creating subtle differences to tell us that it’s a different story. I love when gorgeous CGI is packed with tiny details.

Tifa: Deeply connected to the incident that started Sephiroth's madness Cloud: See above but also a victim of Project Sephiroth Aerith: Last surviving Ancient Cait Sith: High-ranking member of enemy faction Vincent: See above In the remake, _everyone_ is destined to whatever. That's the entire point of the remake. The Lifestream manifests those whisper things to try to force events back to approximately those of the original game (and Sephiroth manifests a variant to try to make things go his way instead.)

Looks like a V4. The original FFVII bike was pretty much just a Yamaha V-Max (which has a V4 engine) so it looks like they kept that element of the design. As for rotary engines, I think they're characterised more by their light weight, smoothness and power than their torque.

As much as I appreciate the game, this was the only part I had some disappointment in. The iconic song wasn’t as good (or loud enough for me to hear), the chase was a little too long, they could’ve taken out the miniboss, and shortened the health of the main boss. It was just way too long and tedious. Though I love all the new scenes and humor.

About the music not being loud enough, I had to lower the in game music because Throughout the game, the music overplayed the dialogue and the only thing I didn't like about the chase was the boss fight being on the motorcycle

Devil_Slayer Productions tho it makes more sense that the fight should be on the motorcycle, my problem is the lack of more abilities to use on the cycle, like shit cloud should be able to do some Roche moves not just the original swing left or right heck you should be able to use equipped Materia as well not just range mako slash and aoe slash and those skills takes too much time to cooldown

The bike segment does take wayyy too long. This cutsene was also way too anime btw.. like DMC can do it and play it off with style. This just felt like a generic anime scene. "Cloud-kun!" Que triumphant music.

I didn’t die at all. Just learn to not get hit lol, learn attack patterns, dodge and block accordingly

Say what you will about Final Fantasy VII Remake and whatnot, I am SO GLAD they remade this entire sequence and they did it so much justice. Also, the track, Midgar Expressway, kicks SO HARD!!!!

Had to turn the in game music down because the music in the game drowns out the dialogue all the time throughout the game and before you say "Well turn on subtitles" I don't like subtitles when playing the game 😝 lol

If you have that *certain* materia equipped to one of them and NOT Cloud. They will throw a heal everytime you or someone in the party is low on hp.
