It was great to revisit this classic on the ps5 and see midgar come alive. It looks great, but I prefer the original.

It is indeed. I just wish it wasn't padded out so much, and that the dialog wasn't so cringe most of the time. I'm only talking about the Remake, I haven't played the original. But I always admire the unique and creative worlds and stories of the FF series. They are always interesting, and always have interesting characters. I haven't played many FF games, but I did enjoy the ones I've played, despite the flaws. And I can't deny that this game's HDR does look good. The contast pops off the screen.

The OG FF7 is on my top 3 greatest games of all time. And FF7 Remake was an amazing game that felt as much as the OG. Of course with some changes, but it never bothered me, I'm glad they made it like this! ❤❤❤

Can you tell us why HDRGamer says that HDR Luminance at 10 is around 1450 nits and you are saying that it's only around 950 nits?

@@Fendera1 It looks like HDR Gamer is correct. I'm using HDR luminance at 7 in my QN90C 50 (1100 nits)

Yes. FF7 remake is a must-play. I've played all the FF series except the online version. My only gripe with the FF7 remake is they should've added a turn base battle system option for us, nostalgia folks.

Hello man! A little bit off-topic but I wanna share this with you.... I was watching your calibration settings for Ps5 console. You show how if we set "Black Level" in "automatic" the CX will choose the correct level (limited or complete). In that video you explain how we can check wich black level the console is sending (if "auto" and "complete" show the same picture it means the console is sending a complete signal). Well, PS5's HDR can deliver a "Complete Black Level" but XBSX's HDR can't. I tried EVERYTHING but there is no way HDR on Xbox can go at complete black level. Only SDR goes at a "Complete Black Level" on the Xbox. Did you know this? I noticed that bc Deathloop's HDR looks better on my PS5 than my SX.

The elevated grey levels might be because of vrr or 60hz. Lg oleds only look proper at 120hz output… right?

I’m finding it washed out in the part with the kids/flower house and I’m wondering if brightness 10 is wrong. So, I had accidentally downloaded the ps4 version on ps plus and was playing that and it looked amazing to me. I realized the mistake and downloaded the ps5 version to get hdr but I feel like it looks worse/washed out with these settings (lg c2) Also, I’ve seen a chart out there for this game recommending luminance level 4 for 800 nits… where is that coming from I wonder, if recommended here is 7-8?

I have the C2 42inch on my desk. the game looks great. However, the screen seems to want to auto dim in this game during battle. It doesn't do it in Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, and Astros Playroom. Only this game? I did the free PS5 upgrade from my PS4 disk. It dims when there's a really bright image on the screen (examples: VR fight w/ bahamut or use ascension limit break) and only during combat (not cinematics). Has anyone else experienced this with FF7R?

Sorry off topic but just wondering if you have the latest CX/GX firmware update to test? I think the apps are running faster, NO i know they are. I also think that HDR and DV looks brighter than before. Could just be the shows i am watching have a better camera or are better at creating HDR/DV content but it has been on some films where i had to turn the brightness down as the screen felt washed out otherwise.

I noticed the brightness increase too! In a lot of scenes it looks really good (more "pop"), but some scenes are lacking details in the bright spots and look a bit washed out like you mentioned...

Game has a graphics mode and runs likes shit. PC on the other had with max setting 2080tiGPU 7800kCPU 64GBRAM runs so much better at 140fps+ even during combat. PS5 really isnt all that good, i really dont see the point in this tutorial, Messing with HDR colourations makes absolutely no difference to the game performance other than performance mode itself. PC all the way, so much cheaper and worth the wait considering PSN charge 69.99 on launchs and it stays that way for 2 years lol.
