I hate the way the gaming industry is going about HDR implementation! They need to get their sh*t together and standardize one HDR format or another, so we can just start a game and have it automatically be correctly set up for the best picture. It’s ridiculous that some games use the PS5’s internal HDR settings and others just abandon them altogether, some games look better with DTM, others with HGIG. It doesn’t have to be and more importantly shouldn’t be this annoying to be able to play your games with the best HDR picture settings. Anyways, sorry about the rant, it’s just frustrating to have to look up information about the best HDR/Picture settings every time I start a new game. Your videos are a big help though, so many thanks for doing them.

Hi Amok.

I disagree. I was using dynamic tone mapping and while I started to feel like the brights were a bit bright and the darks were a bit dark and HGIG fixed that balance issue, the issue that arises with HGIG is that now the PS5's image is too dark and colors no longer pop like HDR should. For me, with proper HDR calibration, it's either HGIG with properly balanced albeit dim lighting and pretty low intensity color, or exceptionally vivid color but lighting extremes are slightly too extreme. It's Sophie's choice up in here... BTW, I'm talking LG CX & PS5 on Director's Cut PS5 version of the game. And just to clarify-my TV native menus aren't at all dim in the white areas, just my PS5 picture on the screen, so idk.

That’s the thing with HGIG my opinion it darkens the picture to much then if you go over 60 brightness it blows the picture. All Cx owners are going to be upset in 2021 when OLEDs will be brighter. Even tho C9 is actually brighter then the CX. I’d rather have a brighter tv than complete blacks. 👍🏼

it is better to configure the HDR of your PS5 with the HGIG format of the LG CX and leave it constantly activated. The DTM is illusory, it is the TV which forces the HDR (making it too bright), while for the HGIG it is the game which provides the HDR, making the contrasts more beautiful and of better quality.

For PS4 Pro 1.Adjust your PS4 HDR settings well 2.enable RGB from your PS4 3.enable 2160p RGB on your PS4 Pro 4.Turn off the ingeme HDR 5.ingame contrast "default" (not dramatic) 6.manually turn on your TV HDR 7.turn on Adobe RGB color (on Sony tvs I don't know the rest and that's very important it making my colors better) 8. increase your ingame brightness (starting from 50) 9. increase your TV brightness 10. increase the gamma of your TV 11. increase the contrast from your tv 12. degrees the color from your tv (from 50) That's the base. Now keep adjust until perfection. Mind that the eyes vision getting darker after half an hour play so don't wonder why it was ok before but the picture colors don't pop up with the time. That way on my Sony at least for me it's not too black and too bright nor the picture quality look strage. Also mind that the objects of the game are MADE to reflect sun/moon light like insane. You can't change that. Accept it. Don't darken the game to reduce crazy reflection. The most you can do is to balance it perfectly. The first three steps are maybe unnecessary but I did it anyway. enjoy

@dereka4153 жыл бұрын
Are you get a blueish tint color around fire and clouds? I've had this problem and have to turn down the contrast to 60. LG is claiming it's the PS5 and the way it handles Hdmi Ultra HD Deep Color. I believe it's due to the HDR and the way my LG 48 inch CX oled handles it.
@daxthedza3 жыл бұрын
@@dereka415 getting blue tint around fire and clouds, yes. But I’m not sure if it’s because of the source. The bands are showing up more in gradient transitions in cut scenes. So like a fire’s glow or the moon’s glow. I updated the CX to the latest 3.21.09 fw, and I saw some flickering and raised blacks in a few scenes in Wonder Woman 84 (PS5 HBO Max). I’m using a zeskit 10ft Ultra High Speed HDMI (2.1) directly to the TV

I called LG again and they have me doing the pixel refresher for 10 days at 2 times a day. If the problem still consists then I have to send pictures showing the issues I'm experiencing. After that we will take it from there. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong before my 1 year warranty is up. Originally, LG said it was the PS5 but I've noticed this same issue when I watch Netflix thru the TV app. I believe they will have to send someone to my house and take a look at the TV since I always have to turn down the contrast to 50 for the blue tint to go away. I would LG and let them know your problems.
