I've always really liked how the names of the weapons and armor change as you add news features to them. You never know what you're going to get. And usually the names for weapons and armor with 4 really good abilities are badass. I customized a piece of armor for Wakka with Confuseproof, Beserkproof, Stoneproof, and Poisonproof and it gained the name "Keeper." Which is quite appropriate I think.

Thank you so much for this episode! My biggest blunder on my first playthrough was trying to make ultimate armours before I finishing monster capturing. I followed your advise this time around and it was much easier to get the items (and fight the Arena monsters!) after spending the time to capture everything. The setup for the Dark Aeon and Penance armours was great advice, and I used your recommendations when I fought them. Thank you so much for your assistance, and you did a great job with this video!

To see if Yojimbo is gonna use Zanmato, look at his head: if he nods his head, then that's the sign that he's gonna use it. If he moves his hand, Daigoro is gonna attack

Actually, with some fiends (at least the ones I've tested), if you give them half the amount of Gil in a bribe, they will usually give you half the amount in items. So for example, when you gave out 360,000 gil for sixty Chocobo Wings, you could instead give it 180,000 gil for about thirty CWs instead, and the additional 1 gil every failed bribe still works at well. I'll usually give up about 180,005 gil for around 29 Chocobo Wings or so.

So I discovered something the other day about Zanmato. I was researching Yojimbo and I came across a Q&A forum that was discussing Zanmato. A how-to discussion. When I saw someone comment that all you have to do is pay Yojimbo $7777. Followed by a number of ppl replying with thanks and giving the guy props. I've never heard of this so I ran a small experiment. I started up my game and summoned Yojimbo in 4 different battles. Each battle i payed Yojimbo $7777. He executed Zanmato in 3 of those 4 battles. And on the 4th battle I was experimenting if you need full OD with Yojimbo...you do. Keep in mind i just started using Yojimbo. I have practically no compatibility training at all. I'm not sure if this is a bug/glitch or if it's some sort of Easter egg...but it works. Just don't expect it to work right after you load a save. The game is programmed to perform Wakizashi right after a loaded save.

About farming Cactuars: I got plenty in the area with thunders. You need to activate 3 pillars/stones in order to get increased random encounter with them and get encounters with 1, 2 or 3 at once. On first round - just steal. When done run or kill them with a grenade (I was a low level and Cactuars have high evade). For low levels you get dissent amount of AP/GIl too

Btw, if anyone is watching this in 2022. If you watch Yojimbos hand and head. You'll know if he will do zanmato or not. He nods his head without moving his hand before he does it. If he waves his hand its a no go. If his hand doesn't move and he doesn't nod his head he also doesn't. Something I noticed.

Farming Ribbon and break HP limit armour is in the last set of stuff to do each time I play the game. So I don’t need to worry about using Zanmato to farm. Up until then I’ll just use proofs armour if and when needed. I farm gil by customizing equipment. Go to Kilika, buy tetra armour for 2250 gil. Kill Kottos for Healing springs, customize with SOS Regen for big profit. Once I have enough Gil I can start stat maxing. At this point my team isn’t weak anyway, since I’ve caught 10 of every monster and Omega Ruins done.

I farmed Dark Yojimbo way later. But I think the ultimate armor is: Break HP Limit + Ribbon + Auto Haste + Auto Phoenix. Auto-Protect is nice but I prefer Break HP Limit.

U don't even need ribbon dude. Maybe only on Rikku. At least I did it this way. Tiddus and Wakka --> Auto-Protect + Auto-Haste + Auto-Phoenix + Auto-Potion Rikku same thing but Ribbon instead of Auto-Phoenix. And celestial weapons of course. This was my team and I got platinum trophy on PS3.

pretty sure I never in all my time playing FFX did I pay Yojimbo more than 1001 gil at once, and he used Zanmato pretty consistently, people way too caught up thinking that they need to pay the guy tens of thousands of gold... You really don't

The only thing i disagree on in this video is that monster arena is the fastest method of dark matters. Its rng. The second method you said (Dark Yojimbo is the fastest). I still think this is faster taking into account the hp spheres I farmed from ironclad. BHPL on everyone makes DY faster tho. Its 45 seconds per kill and you can just spam x without looking at the screen

No one can argue that in FFIX, that is has the best abilities customizations. You get a total of 99 stones when maxed out and you can have everything a ribbon has plus all this other stuff at the same time. FFX is in my top 3 games of all time period but FFIX is not only GOAT but abilities customizations is #1 also!

I'm very torn about my personal ultimate set. I want the armor both for battle and vanity purposes, so I do want Ribbon and Break HP Limit. Just because it looks sick. And of course Auto-Haste is a necessity. But what should I do with the last slot? My first idea was Auto-Potion, and then carry only X-Potions. But aren't there dark aeon attacks that exceed the second damage cap? If my defense is high enough, can I survive attacks for Auto-Potion to do its job? Reason I thought Auto-Potion is cos of the Celestials' damage calculation relative to HP. Is my logic flawed? Should I go with something else, and why?

auto regen will heal far more than any potion and you won't waste turns / time using the potions. the ultimate armor if you break hp is auto regen, auto haste, ribbon, break hp limit

For the record, Auto-Potion with X-Potions is actually considerably more effective healing than Auto-Regen. With maxed out HP Auto-Regen will recover up to 4410 HP between the turns of a 170+ Agility enemy using Rank 3 moves, which is of course way below having Auto-Potion triggered by their turn for a 9999 HP recovery, and completely incomparable in a fight with a faster enemy (like Dark Shiva) or multiple enemies, both of which will trigger Auto-Potion at a higher frequency. It's just that Auto-Regen still provides "good enough" recovery without all that potion usage animation time attached to it, plus it's not gated on only healing you when you're below 50% HP like Auto-Potion is. In reality the better answer is to use neither of them, as Quick Pockets Megalixirs recover 30000 HP to the whole party in the same time it takes to do 1 single Quick Hit, and Rikku's overdrive can also recover the entire party to full HP/MP in one turn. You're ultimately still better off using Auto-Protect, or possibly Auto-Shell in specific situations.

Why do I not need Auto-Phoenix? is it because Auto_Regen+BHPL make it nearly impossible to be one shot? assuming that you have a crazy amount of HP? Also, given that I really want to go this route, after having BHPL on the three characters, What's a safe HP level if it's not at 99999 to start fighting all the megabosses?

Yojimbo 1 shots for 5k gil 90% of the time I pay him that or even less, it just depends on how many times you use him, him not dying and you never dismissing him, those things already increase his chances of using the 1 shot ability drastically

Yes, if you are going to have 99,999 HP Auto regen can out-heal a lot of attacks from powerful enemies.

@@Dansg08 according to the research i've made, getting Auto Regen or Auto Protect all depends on the damage you're receiving. This is the info I found: "Say, between enemy turns you will always heal 1000 HP 1500 damage, net 500 Hp loss with Auto Regen, net 750 hp loss with auto protect. Regen is still better. 2000 damage, net 1000 HP loss with Auto Regen, however, it is also a loss of 1000 HP with Auto Protect, so they are balanced here. 2500 damage, 1500 net HP loss with regen, 1250 HP loss with Auto Protect, so Auto Protect is the better option here"

No you need defense +20 and auto potion over auto pheonix and ribbon. It is a bad time if you start getting the death delay against penance, and have to waste time healing.

Yes, like I said the things it doesn't work for is Death, Curse and the "Break" statuses like Power Break etc. It's most useful for moves like Mega Graviton used by the Dark Magus Sisters and Dark Anima.
