Hi campass... The Japanese karate styles typically do not have the same kicking emphasis as TKD. This may well be a case of cross-training playing out. Nevertheless, it is important to keep in mind that the kicks used are legal technique by competition kumite rules and part of karate's traditional curriculum. 🥰🥰CHEERS
