I believe it is because they were bought out by the REV group, and alignment meant closure of some plants.

They were bought out by a large fire equipment company. They did that to some other companies they bought as well.

The parent company (REV) acquired KME from the Kovatch family several years ago; they consolidated and centralized manufacturing to the Ferrara facility (now also a REV company) in Holden, Louisiana.

Shame Jr got greedy and sold the company. All those people out of work !!!!!! I bet Sonny is rolling in his grave !
