I’m so glad you’re finishing this series. They may not be getting a large view count, but they are some of the most helpful composition resources on the internet.

Where's is the sheet you promised us you would provide in the description ? It's so amazing, i want to analyse it deeply.

For the second movement, are you gonna do a slow movement or a scherzo? Either could really fit, but a scherzo could help bring up the pace from a slower introductory movement. Also: can one of these movements be in variation form? I know it's less common in Romantic music, but Brahms and other composers have used them in symphonies.

Amazing! These videos are helping me a lot. Just use better sounds next time, Musescore 4's sound hub is pretty good. To the real question: I have a problem with long passages of music, my movements always end up being very short, even using repeats, about 6 min max. What can I do?

I find myself in a similar situation, but I recommend listening to masters. You notice that with our attention span "development" nowadays, we often gravitate towards shorter melodies and music. Don't be afraid, and even be brave to write out longer motifs, many repetitions of motif, like Tutti stuff, and basically explore beyond what modern ear is accustomed to.

@@fatitankeris6327 Thanks, but I think my issue is with structure, especially because I didn't have any formal training of musical theory. Now that I'm finishing my graduation, I'm trying to fill the gaps.

Hello, not Mr. Graziano, but hopefully I can be of a little assistance. I find it easier to write longer pieces if you choose a form that works well for writing longer music. For example, if I wanted to write a symphonies Scherzo and Trio, maybe I’d use and ABA form, but each section uses an ABA structure inside of it. A great form to learn is sonata form. It’s designed to be used for long first movements of sonatas, multi-movement chamber pieces, and symphonies. If you can learn how to write in sonata form, you can take the principals from that and learn how to apply it to any form.

@laurenlofton9039 makes good points! The sonata form is ideal for longer movements. If you have not, check out the first video of this series, which explains the structure of the movement -- or the first video on my classical symphony series, where I go into even more detail about the sonata form.

@@grazgorilla Thanks Mike, i have seen all of your videos, and my movements are in sonata form, but they still end up being very short, my developments are very weak, and i just can't afford paying a harmony/music theory class, i don't know what i'm supposed to do.
