A true icon of golf and arguably one of the greatest sportsmen in recent history, Tiger Woods has an incredible legacy at the Open Championship.
By July 2005, the American had already won nine major titles including the 2000 Open Championship.
Tiger made it 10 at St Andrews in The 134th Open, with an incredible final-round performance, finishing with a five-stroke lead over Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie.

To me, Woods is still the greatest of all time. Technically Jack has won more majors. But.... No one in Golf history was iconic and such a titan and insanely popular and near unbeatable as Prime Tiger woods, Woods from like 99-2007 is GOAT

Why not including 2008? 7 starts, 5 wins. To me, his putting peaked in 2008.

Tiger is the goat 1) he changed the whole meaning of golf and made it popular 2) he makes must make putts when needed 3) he dominated the game like no other ……..4) he is overall a better player than previous legends

Tiger is much better than Jack. His skill was far beyond anyone else in their peak. Tiger was injured so much. Emotionally and physically. He could have won 30 majors. And before Tiger, Jack said he had 20, not 18 due to the two USGA amateurs. It’s 20 to 18.

@@americansantacruz6080 If you count Amateurs, it's 20-18 or if you also count Tiger's 3 consecutuve junior amatuer it's 21-20. They stopped counting Amateurs because woods was winning too many.

He’s the best from our generation no questions asked. I didn’t get to see Jack play in his prime but I can imagine how amazing match play between the two would’ve been pretty even. Tigers ability to consistently will a shot close to the pin or into the hole was uncanny. The chip in at Augusta, putt on 18 round four Torrey Pines, putt on 17 players championship, pga championship in playoff against Bob May, Steven Ames 9 and 8 match play or his hole in one at waste management open his rookie year and I could go on and on. This man was must watch tv.

Ball striking expedition. When you're taking divots with your 3 wood, you're playing with phenomenal confidence, control and abandon. The good old days with Mizuno blades and balata golf balls.

It would be nice to see a scoreboard once in a while. On the Masters channel they show the leaderboard just as it was on tv.

Great edit, thank you for putting this up. This makes great golf so consumable, I think the scoring graphics would be nice on there, but it's great, and really nice to watch every shot in a rhythm. I can really get a feeling for how he plays each hole

Hi Jonathan. Agree. A very nice format and it was a blast to watch it. Scoring inserts from time to time would have made it even better.

Tiger has inspired me more than any other golfer (perhaps due to my age) but it’s worth remembering how many times Jack was runner up in majors!! We are so lucky to have been alive to see the two greatest players (in my opinion) of the modern era

Tiger IS the best of all time. They had to invent categories based on his play. Like the % of wins compared to starts. Didn't he have, at one point, a 40% win average for starts? Winning almost half of the events he started? Or consecutive majors? I don't recall that being something we tracked before Tiger. Some of today's "best" golfers have 7 wins. Not 7 majors, 7 wins.....maybe one major.

However, I think the most natural swing I ever witnessed was Fred Couples. Just perfect.

Love the laconic, trenchant commentary - laced with vocabulary American commentators simply do not possess, much less wield. Hard to follow though without graphics: what are the scores, what hole is being negotiated.
