3:45 He stops practicing 3 weeks before a match? Wouldn't he get weak/rusty with that long of a break? Is that normal to cut off practice so far away from a match?
@perlaw105 күн бұрын
i've talked with him and his training system still goes on until the the last week that he has. He's still doing singles and triples at home up until the week before the match

As a rule of thumb before a competition I take 2 weeks off of tabletime and 1 week off gym lifts. Generally in the 4-7 days before I do some rubber band work, maybe some massage.
@hawaiidispenser5 күн бұрын
I guess he knows best, but personally I think 3 weeks is too long. I'm at my strongest about 1.5 weeks post workout (complete rest), but once I hit 2 weeks I start to slowly lose strength. Arm wrestling may be very different than weight lifting, recovery wise, though.
@Djfjfjrhhrjrhrhfj5 күн бұрын
@@hawaiidispenser Yeah i think he stops certain types of pulling 3 weeks in advance, but still does training and lighter pulls up to a week before the match. I feel like you would want to do training up until about a week before your match, and then lighter workouts to maintain form up until the day of your match basically. Either way its interesting, and Im sure there is no perfect answer.
@IamNothingNoWhere4 күн бұрын
Depends how you practice. If you always go hard in training then you want to take it easy before a match in order to recover fully. You want your tendons and nervous system at 100%. Some would say that's the wrong way to practice though.

Per law moves like devon , its like a mini version of devon
@perlaw105 күн бұрын
all ottawa high hookers kinda move similar i think
@boneybone81235 күн бұрын
I don't think so. Perlaw moves like perlaw. I'm watching his videos all the time and to me he seems genuine and original. Maybe he seem to look similar to Devon to you because you are trying to see Devon in the details and match small bits then come to conclusion. It's the side effect of being a fan of somebody. Like seeing your teams colors everywhere. It can hinder your objective perception if you don't harness it. The similarity you see is they all do same practices and use similar technique because they're like a classroom, getting similar education.

thanks boney for the insightful comment. I do believe i have my own style while there's definitely simiarities among the pullers at the club because we spend so much time together each week during the two practices

When is Auden pulling Landen Anderson (19 yrs-old) or Easton McCormick (18 yrs-old)? Those are the matches the arm-wrestling community wants to see!
@perlaw105 күн бұрын
im sure we all do. however, i do like and support devon's approach for auden's development

@@perlaw10 making a buck off the sport is totally respectable. But when he's ready to be considered one of the best teens in NA, he'll need to face them. In the meanwhile, we'll enjoy the show.

Auden needs at least another year, also schoolboy is two weight classes above him
@calvinjonesyoutube5 күн бұрын
Not sure you should get involved with Auden at that level of intensity. Theres to much strength difference, your risking injury if something gets out of position. Enjoyed the update regardless.
@perlaw105 күн бұрын
my usual training session with him doesn't look like this. He really takes cares of me and my progress on the table is great when training with him. This one in particular was for a semi ready go situtation as to put his mind into competititon mode
@thepiecesfit115 күн бұрын
With enough experience, one can take those hits with minimal risk. There’s trust both ways.

That's Slim.. He's about 5'1 probably one of the shortest guy at the club usually wears platforms and 2 risers. But has really long arms for his height so he looks deceivingly tall.

the truth has been spoken! i wish i can pin this response from the actual tallest puller from the OHH, matthias!
