3:09:08 i just want to mention that these are indeed the lines we heard at the fountain of lucine when we first arrived in fontaine. back in 4.0; and do you guys remember that the fountain is where all the waters in fontaine go to? yes. when we arrived, it already marked the 182375th scene in furina's performance. the cries of furina we heard at the fountain back in 4.0 was happening in REAL TIME. man,,, the details hoyo put into the story-telling of this game is AMAZING.

If Furina told Aether her secret, Paimon's fat mouth would spill the beans. I never hated Furina, but knew something was up with how "dramatic" she presented herself all the time, but the emotional rollercoaster we got in this finale was a punch to the gut. I wanted to give Furina a hug and let her cry it all out.
@plvto19 ай бұрын
Honestly that's probably why she didn't tell them lmao, she's seen as incredibly talkative and quick to react to everything. If Furina said anything (especially since we know the box they were in was surrounded by people) paimon definitely would've been like "GASP YOU'RE THE HYDRO ARCHON OF FONTAINE..?!" "Whoops.. Hehe.. Sorry.. Paimon's fault.."

@cheesepuffsthings10 ай бұрын
I think you're kind of missing the point here. No one is doing any of this to be cruel (except maybe Lyney who is *definitely* enjoying himself a little too much considering the circumstances). The sole purpose of the trial was to get her to reveal what she was clearly hiding, not to get a conviction. If she confessed what she knew in that box, which had been placed in front of the entirety of Fontaine, there would be no trial to be had. Remember, as far as the main cast knows Furina, the supposed god, is visibly doing absolutely nothing beyond posturing all while Fontaine's people are dying around her. There are people's lives at stake. They don't know it's part of Focalors' master plan, because Furina is keeping it all from them as part of said plan. It's horribly tragic, but this is the very trial she has been looking forward to for the past five hundred years. It set her free.
@TheSilverHermitMage10 ай бұрын
@@cheesepuffsthings @cheesepuffsthings for me it's not what they're doing, it's their attitude while they're doing it. Even The whole "hunting and prey" thing during the meeting felt wrong and they definitely sounded like they were having too much fun explaining their grand plan of capturing furina (at least to me) and they way everyone talked about furina during the trial just seemed a bit condescending/ malicious? "We know you always run away from your problems" or "there's no way furina can win now!" Or "it's better if you just admit you're guilty already"

They did a good job with this quest. The more I see the Traveler act in certain situations it shows how they actually feel about things. Especially the part with Furina in the magic box and during the Trial. The Traveler didn't feel bad for even a second for Furina after the trial and never apologized. Which I think is an interesting direction they're taking the Traveler. They're gradually becoming like their Abyss Sibling, indifferent to things that fall outside their goals and motivations. His goal was to stop the prophecy and was willing to destroy Furina mentally for it. I'm excited to see if they follow up with this behavior or act like it didn't happen in Natlan or future Archon Quest.

20:02 I like how this theme is called back to with Furina and Focalors. When told about the prophecy, Furina immediately considers her pain to be a necessary sacrifice to stop it before she even knows in what way she will suffer, and carries this for the next 500 years. Even when given the chance to share her burden with the traveller she refuses because her pain is not what’s important. It’s her people. And with Focalors it’s more literal, she literally had to sacrifice herself to save the people of Fontaine but that doesn’t mean it should’ve happened. They should not have had to suffer to prevent a disaster that never should’ve happened in the first place

Remember how eager Furina was to put us on trial as soon as we entered Fontaine? She must have thought that the traveler known to cause massive upheaval everywhere they go would surely be the subject of the "magnificent and wonderous" trial she's been waiting for. Just thinking how eager and desperate she was to find an end to her performance really makes my heart ache. WHY couldn't we at least end the archon quest with a simple apology to her before she goes to do her own thing! BRUUH we've done NOTHING in this archon quest except make shit worse. Like think act 5 - what did we actually do that helped the situation? Fuk all. I wish we could at least apologize (even though yes, there's no way we coulda known or made a different decision given the info we had). Like, we still wronged her did we not!?
@cheesepuffsthings10 ай бұрын
I disagree about us only making things worse. Not only did we solve the serial murder case, something that wouldn't have happened otherwise, we revealed the truth about the Primordial Sea to the everyone. While Focalors would have saved Fontaine regardless of our involvement, the Traveler's interference likely saved a whole lot of Fontaine's people from being dissolved in the long run. If it weren't for us, just how long would it have taken to put Furina on trial? A trial that, no matter how hard it was for her, needed to happen to set Furina free. Even if it hurt, even if it was practically by mistake, we still saved her.

@sadiaferdous596810 ай бұрын
She didn't fight her puppet for 500 years. In the Plane of Euthaymia, the concept of time doesn't exist, hence, she THOUGHT that she was fighting for 500 years. Furina's case was the real deal. She actually acted for 500 years.
@Oscarus425010 ай бұрын
@@sadiaferdous5968Just the fact that the "concept of time doesn't exist", it doesn't mean the "passage of time" was falsified. For Ei and Shogun, it could've really been 500 years, even though in Teyvat only a few hours have passed. Time could stand in place in there, but living beings sure didn't. Still, I'm skeptical about the "non-existent concept of time" as Plane of Euthymia IS Ei's consciousness, her "mind". And as far as I'm aware, time is an aspect present in everything bound to the natural world, including living beings. So even though not really the 500 years have passed, it is safe to assume that for her, it was indeed something like that. Regardless, even I have to admit that Furina's 500 years were a lot harder to bear for a few reasons. But, I'll just type out one, the biggest one - she's a human. Well... not exactly "human" as she's, kinda, "divineless god", which could make her human as they are in many medias and religions to be the "reflections of gods"....... Anyways. The fact that she's a human, and has human body, mind, emotions, etc. (what she doesn't have is human lifespan, though), she's experiencing things differently. Add on the part she was born around the same time as Egeria had perished, that means she's spent nearly her ENTIRE LIFE acting, being "not herself", while also having human mind and consciousness, which aren't exactly the strongest... Ei is a god, or "god-like elemental being", so the machinations of her mind were stronger/more persistent. Add on the fact that she had already had the experience with "extremely long isolations" and that she was focused on battling, as she was fighting Shogun, who knew her extremely well, could match her might, and wanted to kill her, so no mistakes were allowed. Ei's 500 years of constant battle were truly impressive, but let's be honest - Furina's 500 years of "Never-Ending Spectacle" are on completely another level

@@Oscarus4250time is indeed something bound to existence but if you can break through existence or go into a space where NOTHING exists including the concept of time then you could possibly avoid it like the plane of euthymia. Ei could have been in a space that broke through the reality and defies the laws of existence meaning, that world could have been made from literal nothingness. Time is a dimensional concept, you can break through it if you manage to outrun time, exactly like the idea of returning to the past or going to the future, if you manage to revert everything to the past including yourself then you're essentially beating time and outrunning it hence controlling it. The concept time of time is something that exist but not everywhere, if one possesses the divine power then one can also control time to its will. Im just trying to say that ei thought it was 500 years but in a world where time doesn't exist then the concept of 500 years didn't exist neither, we could technically say that ei was fighting her puppet for infinite years, since time never started to move but in which case, time also never stopped moving, one hour in our world could be a infinite repetitions in one instant

What i think is worth mentioning about Childe's part here, if you remember when someone is robbed of their vision they will start going literally crazy. It's like stripping someone of their ambition. I’m an actor myself, and let me just say, every actor has their own special, “ticks,” and these are meant to keep 10% of the actor grounded in reality while the other 90% is committed to the role they play. When I saw this scene, I could feel the amount of recoil Furina was accumulating for herself because she was committed to her role as an Archon at 100% instead of 90. She’s a normal human whose been doing this charade for 500 years. I don’t blame at ALL for wanting to give up. Yet she didn’t. Edit: messed up the stamp lmao

To just highlight how incredibly foolproof and ingenious Focelors' plan was: She came up with a plan to bypass the prophecy within approximately four months. The created and inserted an unseen message into the four stone tablets we found, chucking one into the sea for when the time was right, knowing that Neuvillette would eventually stumble across them and decipher them, and someone would seek out the last tablet. Or, if she didn't create the tablets themselves, she still created the message within them and used the first tablet as inspiration for her plan, leaving it in the sea before finishing her preliminary steps. She invited Neuvillette as the Iudex of Fontaine, counting on the immense time it would take for the prophecy to occur for him to begin relating to and coming to love humans and life in general; more than enough time to assure such given his nature and duties. She split herself into divine and mortal forms, storing herself away into Oratrice to continue her plan, leaving just enough of her within Furina to pass on a final message. Said message was intentionally vague, leaving out key details such as how much time and suffering she would experience, but most of all, implying that "Mirror-Me" would be the one actually BREAKING the prophecy, instead of letting it happen. As such, Furina believed her duty was to bring hope to the Fontanians and continue on her show, not realizing she would be the catalyst of Focelors' deception to the Heavenly Principals. Additionally, by stipulating that the reveal of her identity would bring about the prophecy, she intentionally set up Furina to fail, only telling her to watch for a grand trial, which would force Furina to be center stage within Fontaine at all times. No hiding away like Ei did. Furina would never imagine that such a trial would be her own. Focelors knew that Fontaine needed a strong Archon after the cataclysm, and intentionally told Furina to act like the god people wanted; her complete opposite. During her speech, any hope of Furina looking for companionship or friends was dashed as she was forced to realize that she couldn't be herself. However, we also know from Neuvillette's Story Quest that Fontanians have changed over time. The strong Archon the people wanted could have changed over time after the cataclysm, but Furina's fear of exposure traumatized her so much that she couldn't see what was happening in front of her; that she could relax her act. Focelors knew that time and pressure would lead to Furina's trial no matter what. With the waters rising and seals breaking, it was only a matter of time until Furnina's lack of actions and power would be called into question. While any normal prosecutor would do, Focelors ensured that Neuvillette would be the perfect candidate, as his position would have him constantly beside Furina, able to observe her contradictory behavior. If all else failed, the duty within Neuvillette would force his hand to act as her prosecutor, in turn revealing Furina's humanity. After 500 years, Neuvillette's nature would not allow him to pass a guilty verdict on the Fontanians. From the first day of his position, his fate was sealed in Focelors' plan. No matter what, even without the Traveler being conveniently involved, everything lined up perfectly according to her plan, and only a huge miscalculation could possibly disturb her plan. Four months was all it took to plan all of this out.

Imo, the archon quest just seems like a win for her in the sense she's hitting two birds with one stone. She wants to save Fontaine from the prophecy since it's her homeland and also get the gnosis for the Tsaritsa. What she did is definitely something long-term since their organization contributed to aiding Fontaine overcome a major crisis, which opens up for them having more resources should they ever need something from Fontaine. It really isn't that smart to act antagonistic here when collaborating with them has more advantages.
