This was indeed a heartbreaking (and disappointing) archon quest. They pulled a Greater Lord Rukkhadevatta on us again. But I did love the ost as always. All I can say, while other games still better and beat Genshin in many place, this game still win in term of story and it's clever telling for us. Plus, that ending is why this game still one of the best one.

Once again genshin players does not understand shit.i get its frustrating but thats litterally the point. The main point of the story is to experience "what doesn't exist" caribert whole point why the loom of fate is needed of catalyst and why it's powerful enough to even alter the mind of the descender and please pay attention. That specific information of the mind altering of those who suppose to immune is obviously for us the players NOT THE TRAVELER it's for us to learn ,like cmon guys the travelers reunion is literally a parallel to atossa and caribert Why didn't lumine say anything of them not remembering? SHE did the cutscene and CARIBERT himself said that plane is a just mere faction and temporary again already said.so i dont get why most people are suprise that this will happen the fact theirs a reunion between the two is already enough even if they "not' remember it ( and there's too many things that people take for granted for not remembering shit and really frustrating for us how to explain shit that's been obviously shown as a the narrative) there is progress the only thing that traveler doesn't remember is their reunion everything they learned about the loom is still on their memory just like how caribert planted it , why didn't caribert just made the twins remember? Yeah sure like the scene where he literally dissapates from exhausting his power doesn't explain that and he came in clutch with that picture shown even with little control of the loom and having to complete his mission,he truly does care for the twins and how important that reunion is between two of them. (Also remember he planed everything from the whole memory altering thing from the beginning with atossa and the others lumi getting in on the domain is out of that plan)

I raise you this: just because it’s the point doesn’t mean it’s satisfying or narratively interesting. Fundamentally, nothing happened. We have almost never actively used information to do anything. Even if the traveler didn’t forget *everything*, it’s still irrelevant and won’t come up until the next time the story decides we’re allowed to react to the next story beat. It’s a story without agency, setup without tension, and lore without heart.

I'm still pissed to why is it necessary for the Traveler to forget their meeting and the most important lore of Teyvat amongst all of irrelevant lores. Is Hoyo trying to make the Abyss sibling as unlikeable as possible? Or are they desperate for that player retention?

@@krumi_hazuki1440yeah but that removes any actual agency. It’s a case of dramatic irony but this irony doesn’t actually serve to bring any tension to the story. It removes any character from the traveler, his motivations aren’t allowed to shift or grow or change at all. Wouldn’t it be cool if the traveler wanted to see the journey to the end because of his own wishes? Not because he’s aimlessly wandering?

@@krumi_hazuki1440 i agree, traveler will straight up side with their siblings side without any question, because they'll believe their siblings choices. I think hoyo make them forget about the reunion, its to make traveler pick their own path without being influenced from their siblings.

I understand most people didn't like how they pulled off the memory wipe at the with the siblings after they met for a short time. I was heartbroken too, but allow me to explain and borrow a paragraph from another user in Doro44's video about why this is necessary. "[The reason being for the memory wipe to happen is] because the Abyss twin has mentioned about the Sea of Flowers at the end. The Traveler also know what the Abyss twin implies. The huge plot point wouldn't just reveal all now when we still have 3 more regions to explore Natlan, Snezhnaya and Khaneriah/Celestia,... The Abyss twin going out telling all the information knowing The Traveler wouldn't remember fits the narrative of the Abyss Twin actually. If the Abyss Twin tells you all things when the time hasn't come, it wouldn't fit the whole "we will be reunited" quest and OOC for her. Which means that the twins traveling to Teyvat is actually not an coincidence and the Heavenly principle may know the true identities of the twins so she want to divide them into separate paths" -by @chihaotran1568 I get that this game is a long, on-going narrative that keeps us going to enjoy the lore, but sometimes we may forget a little bit of the important details that we overlooked. In any case, we are more than half way through across Teyvat so keep your heads up on your journey, folks.

@@w7ndI the only thing that got erased, was Travellers meeting with the Sibling. Everything else that we as the player have learned, is still remembered by Traveller (including all the new Khaenri'ah lore). So i don't really get what you mean.

It's interesting that Lumine takes a sort of selfish route to hang out with Aether, before telling him at the very end that none of it matters, BUT there's some consolation at the end where Caribert gives us a parting sliver of hope with that photo, something that I think Lumine may not have anticipated.

Yeah it’s like they’re actually just allergic to telling a story that… y’know, involves its main character. Any semblance of agency is constantly being taken away from us in favor of hyping up another character or building lore reveals that only actually exist for the player. It’s very frustrating to me.
