It also weighs 1,000lbs more than the Model 3, so it's unlikely to have better cornering. I'm already not a fan of the pumped-in audio, but even if you were, $10,000 for a few .wav files is a steep ask. I'm so confused to see car reviewers saying they enjoy the pumped in audio. Your review is on point. I traded my Elantra N, which I tuned with a Stage 2 ECU, for the Ioniq 5N as soon as I saw it sitting at the dealership. The Elantra was no slouch, and seriously a fun car to drive, and this Ioniq 5N is an absolute dream come true. It's practical, it's quick AF and super fun to drive without breaking a sweat. Heck, I even got it to fishtail on a turn and the car didn't skip a beat. I've never felt this zen driving this fast. With commerical electric rates in the US, it'll cost me 4 cents per mile, as Im currently getting around two miles per kwh - and I'm stepping on it like there's no tomorrow. In comparison, my 2023 Elantra N got 13mpg with my same insanely heavy lead foot driving. Another thing that's pretty impressive - there is not a single rattle or shake on the 5N. The car seriously feels solid. In my book this 5N is an absolute winner, and the retro futuristic hot hatch look is super fuckin' cool. I personally actually like the stiffer suspension and will likely lower the car when I can get my hands on a set of suitable springs. Anyways, best review of this car so far & 100% lines up with my impression... I spooled 1k miles in a week. Keep up the good work!

Hey Yuri, just a heads up, it actually wasn't your circuit breaker tripping when you tried plugging it into your wall outlet, it was the GFCI (ground fault current interrupter). The reason is that all of these 120V "chargers" (EVSEs) have their own GFCI protection built in, and they run a self-test of it during their startup. If they're plugged into a GFCI outlet, they have no way of telling the outlet that they're doing a self test, so as far as the outlet knows, a ground fault is occurring. Just like if you pressed the "test" button on the outlet. For the vast majority of these 120V EVSEs, you need to use them on a regular outlet/circuit that does not have its own GFCI protection. Unfortunately, GFCI protection is required in recent homes for outdoor outlets on a porch, and I believe maybe also in garages. Some people who own a PHEV or EV just replace the outlet with a non-GFCI model, but of course the vast majority just install a hardwired Level 2 EVSE, like the Tesla Universal Wall Connector. Hope that clarifies!

your charging issue is with Electrify Canada... not the car itself. EA here in America, 80% of the time, we get 200-237kwh speed most of the time. Maybe try other DCFC stations that is not Electrify? Like any ICE sports car, its the same with range how they aggressive they use their car so for an EV that is a sports car... it is still a very efficient car compare to ICE. if you drive aggressively on a gas car... you get like 12-15mpg

It’s just a fun car that just happens to be electric. This car seems to be so fun and combines the best of ICE and EV into a nearly perfect package. Can’t wait to test drive one, though I am quite happy with my current EV.

Credit to Hyundai for really going all in with their N brand, across several areas of their lineup. Between the Elantra, Kona, Veloster, i20, i30, and now Ioniq5, has there been a bad N product so far?
@aethrus6 ай бұрын
12:20 whoever programmed this... So the name you are looking for is Albert Biermann. Ex-BMW M and has basically created what N stands for at Hyundai. This is his last car and there are some videos where he very openly talks about his ideas for the car. Basically, he pushed the ignition mode and got the guy who actually chief engineered the DCT to tune the fake gears. For example, he also talked about how he had the mindset of getting engagement instead of performance. That is why in fale gear mode, they do not go full power, so they have some left for the faked "shift kick". It is amazing and this car is basically his legacy, since he is going to retire after. There is an amazing video with him and a German influencer (JP) where he talks a lot about the development. Maybe auto transcribe works fine for it...
@joec.50096 ай бұрын
Biermann didn't really contribute much to this project beyond giving it his approval. Hyundai has been leveraging his name to enhance their brand image. The real contributors were a group of young engineers in their late 20s and early 30s who grew up playing Gran Turismo. These talented individuals are implementing significant engineering changes at Hyundai. Trust me, I have firsthand knowledge of this.

I think the genesis gv60 performance or whatever has the sound and shifting option too from a review i watched. might only be available in certain markets but i think that one sounded like the v6 tt they have iirc
@JohnLee-db9zt6 ай бұрын
These reviewers don’t realize you only get full 600 hp (640 hp with NGB) when at default 50/50 torque distribution. If set to 100% RWD torque, you only get the hp of the rear engine. Same for FWD.
