I think it was super smart to test that counter top sample. Reminds me of when we were looking at flooring during our remodel we would get the flooring samples and scratch them up with our keys. To see how well they would hide the scratches. Because of kids and pets and just general living. By doing that we were so happy with the flooring we picked. Even the contractors said they would want that flooring in their houses because it hid the scratches so well and it was such a nice color. Glad you guys are back can't wait for your newest videos in your beautiful kitchen.❤

My dream kitchen would have a wall with DEEP DEEP counters, and all the appliances would be there on pullout drawers with a large pull down to hide them all when pushed back and not in use. And extra deep cabinets above and blow for Extra storage.

My home was renovated a few years ago. It went from 1978 to 2018 in 6 months. I not only left a note on the studs, I included a time capsule with photos and finishes from the original. We're talking, burnt orange carpet & Formica, linoleum flooring made to look like old-world tile, rough cut cedar paneling and some hardware from the walnut stained cabinetry. I left a note that said something like this " You think it needs updating now, just look at the original finishes". I do wish I could be there in the future when the capsule is discovered behind the kitchen wall.
