Pay attention to the guards face's... They are NOT happy, they have likely been told not to shout unless the horse is stressed & getting nervous.... If a tourist gets bitten, kicked it stamped on it will have been their own fault Those lines on the pavement shouldn't HAVE to be there, our military shouldn't HAVE to be telling moron's not to pester the horse..... This footage is absolutely sickening 😱! When the white lines were first introduced ( a couple of weeks ago…?), the troopers and the police officers insisted that all visitors should not enter ‘ the box’ - and the difference was immediate…the horses, at last, were left 21:16 in peace and calm prevailed…! But, unbelievably, it’s now obvious there’s no consistency of approach from those troopers! Some ( from both regiments) seem to have no interest in enforcing the new rules - whilst others do ensure that their horses are unmolested throughout their shifts! Senior officers need to instruct these soldiers to guard their ‘boxes’ effectively- rather than ( as the featured trooper in this video footage did) simply sit on their poor, agitated horses, throughout, whilst observing rude, ignorant, selfish, disrespectful visitors moving into the ‘box’ area, quite deliberately and sticking their hands into the horses’ faces…!!! It’s very clear that the role of those troopers is to ‘guard’ their assigned zones assiduously - and to control the visitors’ behaviour, when necessary! As they will be very aware ( hence the new white lines painted on the pavement), far too many visitors are motivated only to achieve their photos and video clips - regardless of the horses’ welfare or the troopers’ authority! So - it IS the responsibility of the soldiers to insist that the new rules are followed, at all times! Anyone ignoring the rules should be taken aside by the police officers ( alerted by the troopers’ loud instructions to the transgressors) and given an ‘on the spot’ fine! That immediate punishment would, incredibly swiftly, be noted, worldwide ( via social mods) and, I’m certain, visitors would, very quickly, choose to ‘toe the line…!’ I’m sure that one reason for those new white Lines must be the increasing number of horse bites suffered by the visitors ( due to those poor animals’ raised ‘stress’ levels when unable to escape the constant unwanted physical attention)! So, should a serious bite occur nowadays ( with the white ‘boxes’ in place), I wonder who would be deemed ‘legally’ to blame for any injury to a visitor - the trooper who failed to enforce the new rules or the visitor who chose to ignore the obvious white lines…? A legal point - what is the significance of those white lines if the troopers ignore visitors’ incursions and the ‘touching’ of the horses with no verbal instructions to desist and to ‘move back’…? I agree, also, with others, here, who call for additional ‘Warning’ boards to be displayed on BOTH sides of the ‘boxes!’ Visitors coming from inside ‘ Horse Guards’ and then turning right, towards the horses, will not pass a ‘Warning’ board! Neither will those exiting left - as, in each case, the boards are displayed only on the far sides of the troopers and horses…🙄! I’d be happy to donate two wooden boards - if our British Army is short of funds…😋😂!

You are losing people's interest. I don't want to continually see videos advertising that these people are supposed to be following rules not to harass the horses. But they're still harassing the horses and even most of the guards do nothing! What is the point of the signs and the painted lines if no one does anything to enforce the rules. My lord. Don't touch the horse! I was taught as a girl not to just touch other people's horses without permission. Like touching another person without permission. It's rude and might get you smacked, kicked, or bit. It's just common sense. I love the mounted King's Guard. I have for years. This is not an ‘official’ Kings Guards channel. It’s a private channel which records and displays genuine footage filmed at Horseguards, in London. It is not the fault of this channel’s owner that certain troopers choose, astonishingly, to ignore, completely, the shocking behaviour of far too many visitors! I’m going to email the senior officer in charge of these troopers, pointing out the laziness of those troopers - and their apparent lack of concern for their horses’ welfare! I suggest that everyone here who is concern d should do the same…!

This channel obviously posts these videos for views, and I've enjoyed them in the past. I would think they would want to know why people are not viewing their content as much anymore. Several titles have advertised action about people breaking the rules when there is not. I don't post often on KZbin at all anymore. And I hate complaining. People, take a look at the guard about 16:57. The guard takes a deep, resigned breath. I'm not thinking that the guards are being lazy or incompetent or anything like that any more. I think they are demoralized. It may be that their job, like many public jobs, is a no win thankless, stressful situation sitting even for just an hour in front of a load of chattering trolls. And the bosses, chickencrappers that they are, have set them up for doing a job that may not have any real reason for being, other than its tradition. They may be in the worst position any soldier can be in, a position without control, powerless and demoralized. Telling them it's their duty does nothing if they don't have any investment in the tradition.

@@samjones9539 After watching quite a few of these vids, I would suggest the guards don't have standing orders at all. It tells me that guard leadership is indecisive, vacillating, and weak, possibly too political and elitist. This can explain the many well known failures in British military history, Balaclava, the zulu wars, failure to relieve Gordon, the American rebellion and many more. The guards may be highly disciplined serving military, (though it does not express itself in these videos), but guard leadership may not be.

The guards are doing their jobs proficiently which is to protect the king. Look at the guard as he scans the area from side to side looking for any potential problems. Their job is not to reinforce who steps over the white line. If the tourists pose a potential problem to horse and guard, the tourists will be dealt with immediately

I used to think that until I noticed the large number of horses that didn't want to be out there with the tourists anymore. They would start fighting being put in the box. Even once they coerced them to get into the box, it wasn't long before they were trying to get out again. I find it cruel to put the interests of the tourists ahead that of these magnificent horses! The humans have a choice to go out there, the horses do not. So why make them choose fight or flight, which we've seen from a few of these horses?!
