The title of the video is "Finally no compromises, yet from beginning to end, the review is riddled with compromises in almost every department. I like Moto's, but you're far and away over selling this phone in your general analysis when your detailed analysis is much more humble and correct.

I might agree with you, except for the fact that capacity is less important than time in use. I'm not a gamer and I easily get 6.5-7.5 hours of screen time during a heavy use day on my Moto G7. That is *plenty* for many users. If you're seeking a larger capacity (for gaming or if you actually need multiple days of use between charges), try the Moto G7 Power. Same processor, smaller screen for higher frame rates, virtually same camera. And it's cheaper.

You have similar taste in hardware to myself. I use a Motorola G7 and Ticwatch E2. I like the similarity in design...both companies try to make budget products that offer a good experience, with near-stock Google software with reasonable improvements (Moto Actions and Tic Health.) I love Google software, but the ability to gear near-stock yet improved Android on a device cheaper than the Pixel is very appealing.

To people saying the phone is not worth the price, could you recommend any better phones for US/T-Mobile? Some of the Chinese phones have better hardware but are basically non-functional with US network bands

This is an excellent general use phone IMO. The only unlocked phones that come close in value for money in the US IMO are the Moto X4, Moto G7 Power if you crave long battery life, or used phones. Google Camera app can be installed without rooting as well, which significantly upgrades the photo quality in all conditions. And the screen really is gorgeous.

@@harrissardino5025 I came from a G5 Plus to G7. IMO it's a very solid upgrade in every way. I would not consider the X4 an upgrade to the G5 Plus - the phones are almost identical except for the cameras and display quality (in fact, my G5 Plus had more RAM). So I could not recommend moving from G5 Plus -> X4. However, the G5 Plus -> G7 is a noticable upgrade. Better phone in every regard, especially the display which is rather stunning. Camera with Google Camera is really good. If you want insane battery life (multiple days) and a bit better gaming performance than the regular G7 (lower res display/faster frame rates) you could also go for the G7 Power. It's also cheaper. But it's also thicker/heavier and for general users the G7 is the slightly preferable model. Can't go wrong either way. Good luck!

@@harrissardino5025 Yes, in particular if you're willing to stretch to $400 the new Pixel 3a could be a great option for those who want an unlocked all-carrier compatible phone with great specs. I don't think the display or build quality will rival the Moto G7 devices, but in other ways I think it will be a subtly superior device, especially camera and OS upgrades. We'll see how the reviews for those devices pan out. That said, the G7 phones in the US I think still offer good value for the money.

What's the maximum screen on time for the Moto G7 Plus phone? I am having unsuccessful attempts for installing and creating the homescreen/launcher/icons you have posted the link about, I am also using Moto G7, could you please shoot a quick video on the G7 and upload the correct steps please? In the last step in Nova Setting - Backup Import settings- the apk file from Downloads tab is not launching due to which the HomeScreen is not changing the way it is here on the G7..is there any step which should be included to troubleshoot this.

As far as the speaker goes, I think it's ridiculous for it to be Mono. There's already another speaker in the ear piece. How much extra would it have cost to test it and turn it on to also play media sound, $5 ?

One question and sorry if it seems stupid. What quality are you using for the videos? It almost fills my note 8 screen. Other videos at the same 1080p are filling only let's say 70% of the screen and not 90% like your video. Thanks

That has nothing to do with resolution, but with aspect ratio. Normal videos are 16:9. Your phone's screen is 18.5:9. Hence the black bars. Because most phones have taller screens these days, I and a lot of other KZbinrs have started making their videos in 18:9, or 2:1.

Basic features are either difficult to reach are not working in this phone. Within 3 months of purchase the GPS stopped working. If we want to attend or disconnect a call we need to unlock the phone first and dig in to all the notifications and find the current call and attend or disconnect. This is a nice feature in this phone... Ha ha... I am a Moto G5S Plus user. hope Moto improved on software to fix it...

It's a mid-range SOC, Motorola devices usually hold up pretty well over time though. That's said, long term reliability is hard to judge only about a month in.

You received a case with your phone which is not offered on Motorola website nor anywhere else I have looked. The current way phones are marketed plus, power, play, fi, Alexa etc... is confusing to average customers as one will have nfc in one market say Europe but not in US. So much time has to be spent investigating what each version offers and if it will work with your provider I really don't feel confident with the current marketing as many websites specs are just not accurate or leave out features.

Better screen durability, wireless charging, expandable memory, dual sim, and decent camera. The only thing the pixel 3a has going for it is the high quality camera the pixel 3a is locked at 64gb of storage. No gorilla glass screen, no wire less charging, and no nfc at its almost $150 more with a slightly if not same processor and the screen cracks way to easy

It's available in the Moto app, but disabled by default. It's Motorola's take on Gesture navigation, which allows swiping left to go back, rather than the magically appearing back button that defeats the point of gestures, used in the Pixel series.

This phone seems great. The display and size are very attractive, but I'm admittedly worried about the front camera quality when using the phone with Snapchat/Instagram Stories. Maybe I should wait for the Nokia 6.2, since it seems to have everything this phone does but with a bigger battery, android one, and a hole punch display.

Gosh a mighty!! I just got my Moto G7 in the mail today through Boost Mobile.. So, did I make a bad decision in buying this cell phone? All I enjoy doing on my cell now which is a 4G Android ZTE. I have had my ZTE for around 2-3 yrs and since the battery needs to be charged more often, and with technology moving at a fast pace, I thought I'd buy a newer cell... you know, make a change, but the question still is.. Yeah Or Na?? btw- I didn't get a case with mine either.. and Why do they give you such little books to read over the directions for? Yes, I know I am older than most, but so far the tiny booklet don't tell me as much as I would like to understand it all... Guess I will ask one of my kids to help me...lol

In my opinion the g6 is better i bougt it for 200$ and it still holds up, i think its too soon for a new motorola phone, there are to few improvments. I don't like the notch and i hate that the finger print sensor is now on the back its a big downside, its simply more intuitiv on the front. Sorry for the grammar i am a native german speaker.

Moto need to beware , Brands like Umidigi are catching up , adding usb c is great but others are catching up quick for similar prices , good for the consumer, Moto's since g4 4th gen have been servicable but always feels cheap because of things like loose volume rockers (still not addressed here, and this isn't ann expensive fix) and the plastic feel of the screens, The phone reviewed , looks like its a modern competitor , but that edging around the screen makes it look bulky imo. Looks like theyve cheaped out on the external speaker as well, again this isnt expensive as previous versions have , as you say , had better quality external speakers , use the older , better ones ... Simples
