Finally, NOT a TRD front grille 5th gen 4Runner

This has got to be one of the easiest installs we have ever done. The Trail Standard Off-Road 4Runner Grille Cover that we got without any of the letters was clean and looked good with its somewhat satin finish. I am so happy Brenan decided to go with no letter on this, I think so many people are choosing to go to the TRD style that the clean, blank look makes it stand out as different.
You don't need any special tools for this install, just some tape, a few screwdrivers, and a 10mm socket/wrench. The entire project you could do under an hour, its that easy.

Yes, as the Toyota emblem cuts into that section and there is a cutout for it on the upper grille.

I originally ordered one on ebay and the grill fit fine but the black out cover was not even the same design so I ordered one from the link on this video. Does anyone know if i can install it without taking off the upper grill again? I feel like its going to break while taking it off then im back to square one.

Does the OEM Grille piece under the emblem come off? Mine is broken and I don't want to buy a whole new bumper for my 4runner.

Yes, you can buy those separate. Might want to check a wrecking yard or search Craigslist for somebody that just changed their grille.

I'm not sure there is any plastidip on the front, grille. It might be a good idea to Scuff the paint before you stuck the adhesive on. We did clean it with and alcohol to remove any oils.

such a nice alternative. so much cheaper than the OEM pro garnish/upper grill. jimmy jet, what would you suggest for the lower valence? is the only option to get the OEM pro lower valence? (i don't want to dip)

There isn't really another option that I know of. I know you can go OEM black or silver. But, I don't know another option.

you could wrap it black, lasts longer than dip. i got mine gloss black now but i think i am gonna try and color match(magnetic gray) with my valance and garnish

For the front lower valence I brought on Amazon and the rear i plastic dip 10 coats of black and 6 coats of clear plastic dip.

Great video as always! Would you happen to know if there would be any gaps on the ends of the garnish on a ‘19 SR5? My cheap Chinese version has about 1/4” gap on each side.

There was a slight gap on each side with this version l. But it was much smaller than a 1/4 in. on each side. Maybe 1/8th?

The paint on the new valence looks more of a flat matte than the lower bumper. Is there an difference in paint sheen on the new part?

It's definitely not glossy, and I don't believe there are different paint options.

I wrapped mine- wasn't a big fan of the flat matte look. If you wrap it Satin black looks more like the TRD pro valance color.

I might just argue that making any change on your 4Runner would count as customization. Now there could be different levels of them... Remove the Toyota emblem, TRD Style without the name, sleek style that is different than most everyone out there. I would count that as customized.
