The best advice I could give you is to start at the very beginning of The Beatles career and listen in chronological order. The amazing growth and change in their music are one of the most magical things about them. And they accomplished all of it in only eight years. "Let It Be" was during the last year.

EXCELLENT IDEA! ABSOLUTE GENIUS FROM THE "PLEASE PLEASE ME" LP ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO THE END OF "ABBEY ROAD". AND THE LEVEL OF MUSICAL INVENTION AND EVOLUTION WITHIN A 6 OR 7 YEAR PERIOD IS ASTONISHING AND UNPRECEDENTED.

If I may add to the previous comment.... Yes, the Mary in the lyrics is indeed referring to McCartney's long deceased mother. At the time this song was written, it was the beginning of the end for the Beatles. The relations between the four of them were strained and it was all starting to unravel. The turmoil was taking its toll on McCartney in particular because he, more than the others, had hoped the group would continue making music. Long story short, McCartney had a dream in which his mother appeared and said to him, 'let it be'. He woke up feeling inspired and immediately started to write this song. Love your reaction and I'm looking forward to many more. The Beatles, as a group and individually, had a lot to give. I am confident you will enjoy their music as well as their infectious personalities. Cheers!

@@richardhargrave6082 Autotune "ruined" the music industry fully 25 years ago. AI is starting. I get your meaning and I'm not in total disagreement. But I feel that what is dying is monster hits that are also artisticaly relevant. Monster hits will be worthless but popular. And artistic people will continue making good music. And never the twain shall meet.

Enjoyed your reaction. This is probably my favorite Beatles song. A bit of trivia: Many people think when he sings of "Mother Mary" he's speaking about the mother of Jesus. In fact, Paul's own mother was named Mary, and the lyric speaks of his own mother. This was 1970 - before music videos were a real thing -- so this is the official video.

That was a nice add, mother mary ahaha, now it makes even more sense

Music videos DID exist even before the Beatles did them. At the time they were called "Promo films" (as in "promotional films") They just weren't called "music videos" then.

Paul wrote this song after coming out of a dream, and he was going through tough emotional times and a little alcoholism, and in the dream, his mother, who died of breast cancer when Paul was 14, told him not to worry, Let it be Jimmy, let it be. (His name is James Paul McCartney). Never being all that religious, this is his version of a personal hymn. Paul wrote a few songs out of dreams, most notably, YESTERDAY. For weeks though, he only had the melody, and the morning he wrote the music, he was making breakfast singing "Scrambled eggs,....oh my baby how I love your legs, oh and yes I do love scrambled eggs oh I do love my scrambled eggs.". He later changed the lyrics to his biggest hit.

Wow thanks for the explanation.

Let people find their own meaning to songs, Pauls' songs are full of religious references.
@patticrichton11352 ай бұрын
Yes Paul's first name is James (after his father James) but he was never called "Jimmy" by his family, friends or any one. He was always called by his middle name "PAUL." Paul named his only son (but 3rd child with his wife Linda) "James." Paul didn't get into a bit of alcoholism until the band broke up and he and Linda "escaped" to their farm in Scotland where Paul then fell into a very deep depression and started drinking, that was how Paul explained it during later interviews. Thankfully, Linda managed to pull him out of it, by encouraging him and telling him he could STILL write and make music on his own. She was perfect for him. If she hadn't done that, who knows how Paul might have ended up. The breakup of the Beatles affected him deeply and having to sue his bandmates, in order to help them ALL get out of the contract, so that when they all were working on their own solo projects, the royalties earned would be their own, and not shared with the other Beatles.

This is one of my favorite songs. Love all the parts of it and especially appreciate George's lead guitar. I did not know I could get these alternative camera shots. I saw the new release on Disney+ but with this KZbin I can capture the screen recording! Thanks for finding that. Paul's song is truly inspired.

54 years have this song now , hahaha and if this is recorded is like a live performance no autotune pure talent , and let it be is only one of the best song of the beatles they no have gold records because they have more diamond and platinum records , The greatest achievement of the Beatles is to make rock and roll accepted by the masses. When it all began, rock was rejected like everything new, but they achieved that.Great reaction You would be surprised at how many great songs the Beatles have composed that were and will be used in many movies and things.

Wonderful reaction to an amazing song "Let It Be" by the Beatles Monica! I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to the song very much ... as it truly is one of the Beatles BEST, (which is sung by Paul McCartney). (BTW you mentioned adding Let It Be to your Spotify playlist. There are a few different mixes that have come out through the years. The one that has the harder guitar solo (done by George Harrison) in the middle of the song is the album version of 1970 (remastered in 2009). The remastered 2009 one is the most popular version on Spotify for the Beatles Let It Be with the harder guitar solo. (I'm not sure if you pinned the picture of the album cover- with the Glyn Johns mix to your post ...but his mix is definitely NOT it. Though the album cover is the same.) Continue to enjoy The Beatles ... and we will continue to look forward to more reactions! Other great songs by the Beatles you might like are: "Here Comes the Sun", "Hey Jude"-Performed LIVE on the David Frost Show, "Something", "In My Life", "Yesterday", "Oh! Darling", "Hello Goodbye", "Help!", "Come Together" and "Don't Let Me Down"(performed LIVE on the roof top of their recording studio! Which was the last time they performed LIVE. Let It Be was recorded during that timeframe too, but in the studio, as seen in the video you just reacted to).

❤, welcome to the club of beatles fandom:) ...i think if u continue to react to beatles songs youll find yourself saying "what?? *This* song is the beatles??!??!" quite a bit, theyre just one of those ubiquitous-type bands in the world culture ever since they existed, its why genration after generation keeps discovering them (i discovered them in 1994 a couple months before i turned 18 years old)....anyway, great reaction, liked, & subscribed:)

The single version of this song is what my generation heard first. The have superimposed the album version over this film, which is BS to me, rewriting history. They ha d Billy Preston, guest artist on these recordings. Not the Phil Spector overproduced one with the fancy guitar solo. Someone has infused the fancy guitar solo version into this live performance, this is NOT what the single sounded like at this point, it was a quieter solo. These were made in January 1969 but not released until March or so 1970. No orchestra and brass.
