I did NOT expect a Hclw video this many years after came out but it sure is welcome. Season 1 was easily one of my favorite webtoons of all time back in 2019, especially ethan gong's character Edit: I remember someone saying that only HCLW is the one who gets his lvl and stats reset after death due to absolute luck, but idk if that's true or not

to my knowledge the stat reset is part of the gambler class and not hclw's personal trait. its the reason why barely anyone else uses the class

Nope, Absolute Luck is his Personal Trait,and they don't have drawbacks most of the time, only conditions at worst and restrictions at best. It's part of the Gambler class.

5:51 Quick note The Lvl Reset is unique to Ethan’s Class, which is Gambler. It’s all about high risk and high reward. He has the best stats because his knowledge of the game and how he uses stats, skill, weapons. The best part of this story is literally the fact how ANYONE can be broken if they understand their player character and the fact that Hardcore Leveling Warrior is/was the player at the top of the Leader Board for a while with his unique class shows how much he knows about the game.

edit: actually just been looking through the wiki and on Ethans own page they state "Due to his personal attribute, Hardcore Leveling Warrior has the unique characteristic of having his stats and level reset when he dies." and even under the personal attribute part of his page they state that its part of his personal attribute "absolute luck" so i might just be very wrong here. and then on the page dedicated to the personal attribute itself they state "Despite the great benefits of his personal trait, Hardcore Leveling Warrior stats and Level get reset no matter how he dies due to being a gambler." this is very confusing. anyway in my mind it makes more sense for that ability to be part of the gambler class itself and not ethans personal attribute since it would be a sensible tradeoff for being able to permanently take other peoples stats. losing his stats upon dying isnt mentioned once with the only other gambler taht we ever encounter during the series (hungry ghost) so yea its very unclear.

Ah HCLW... This is one of the only few series where I accepted plot armor and "luck" so easily as it felt so natural. I guess Overgeared might almost be there but not as much as this. Been a while since I've last read it though and I paused reading at S2 bc it was just starting when I binged this. Great video, I’d def recommend reading Lookism, the first 150 chapters are definitely slow but it picks up and the whole premises switches into an amazing thrill ride. Everyone in the manhwa becomes likable and each goes through a unique arc that makes them special. If you need inspiration to push through the first 100+ chapters just watch edits of it cause they definitely will gas you up

HCLW was definitely one of my faves of the Korean sphere of that genre. Actually became most partial to Manhua Solo Leveling, HCLW, Tower of God , and The Gamer. are my favorites in the Manhwa Genre. Marital Peak and Apotheosis(both Chinese Manhua) are by far my favorite from the mangasphere probobly gonna need to reread some HCLW.

honestly, even though the writing was sloppy at time, and the system's consistency wasn't always there, hclw have such a cool atmosphere that it's not difficult to overlook the shortcomings, even more so with the cool story, it's a breath of fresh air compared to the slew of power fantasy with barely any story
