Riba is such a huge deal in Islam, that I'm scared to even open a credit card even if it's to pay utilities. Is there a way to build credit without dealing with interest? Do buy now pay later 0% interest contracts like Affirm help?

You do not pay interest on a credit card unless you do not pay on time. You can use a credit card to build credit and get reward points through your issuer and never have to deal with interest as long as you pay on time!

I love the initiative. Once you learn the basics please teach our community how to navigate this but adapting it to east Africa. I am also a fellow Muslim Ethiopian just like you but sorry I am reluctant to follow blindly these organizations. Muslims in our communities need to stop looking up to Arabs for anything Muslim.
