Find EVAP Leaks with a Halloween Fog Machine??

I try to find Evap leaks on my Nissan Xterra using a fog machine I picked up, the same machine you would find in a Halloween store. Will it work?

Use the fog machine to fill up the gallon can and valve off then air pressure on can to push fog.

I know I'm late. But that's because fog requires air for it to move, otherwise it goes nowhere... So you'd need a way to "push" the fog

The issue is likely too much obstruction with the line's edges. If you beveled the hoses that you're pushing inside the bigger hose, so that the inner hose has kind of a "ramp" all around, I would think that would significantly help. Also, this is only a 1500 cfm machine, which is particularly low for a fog machine. I've seen another video of a guy getting one of these to work and the one he used was a 3500 cfm unit.

It's just condensing, the hose reduction acts the same way a metering device ( fixed orifice ) does on your air conditioning system, it's where refrigerant changes state from a high pressure vapor into a low pressure liquid.

If you pressurized the intake side of smoke machine with your air compressor should work

I really want to thank you for posting this even though it didn't work. This helps us other views out big time, I was wondering if a fog machine would work for this test and this save time on my end from buying a machine. Again thanks so much for posting this video. Did you ever find a solution? I have a 2005 Nissan Altima that has a rough idea while in drive stoped. I think I have a vacuum leak somewhere, no codes running. Anyway thanks again.
