Most of the time, our dental experiences outside the US are superior to what we had back in the US. Not just the cost, but the service. The days of the single-dentist office in the US are dwindling, "factory" style chains where you feel like you're only there to be rushed through while being pressured to buy all sorts of add-on services are dominating the market.

All of healthcare in the US is turning into factories. It is how providers can make money, by seeing as many people as possible in as little time as possible, and any elective options (not covered by insurance) can be bring them huge financial gains. I don't blame the providers, they are just trying to play by the rules the insurance companies and shareholders have set up. The last time I made an appointment in the US the next available appointment was 5 months away. Here I called and made an appointment for Monday.

@tendegreeswarmer it's mostly not the providers' fault, the core problems are the laws that made profit the primary motive in Healthcare. Patient affordability and outcomes are very far down the list of priorities, if they even make the list.
