What a gorgeous family , cabin and kitty. I love the minimalist aesthetic and how simply this family lives. I love that they have future-proofed their lives, because they can build another slightly larger cabin when their child gets older, and AirbnB this cabin and the guests will basically pay for their new build. Who wouldn't want to stay there, with that incredible view? My husband bought 11 acres and each have our own little cabin and it is a wonderful lifestyle. Much happiness to this lovely young family.

We bought land in Hoodriver OR just a few minutes away, our 1.5acre lot was 280k so this is reasonable. If I was this couple, I would build a regular size home on the same lot and rent this one out.
@GaryMiller-z6t12 күн бұрын
that is as much as my house, and my house payments are almost too much. How does one afford 280k for just land and then have to build a house on it? I make 100k a year and I wouldn't be able to do that.

I’m over in western Montana, and currently in the market for land to build a primary home. It has felt unattainable because land here is $250k minimum (!) for very basic uninteresting property, and then I was thinking at least 450k for building a simple 1,000 sq foot home with today’s costs. And it just seems so impossible! But it was Inspiring to see what you could build for $350k, minus the land. You really got a good deal for that area!! Thanks for sharing your story! I’ve been following Here/About for awhile and love her plans!

Our 🏡 2floors +basement +attic dormer is too big at 2640sq ft for two people. We’d like to downsize, it’s just too cheap to let go considering the $117k purchase price in 2015. The simplicity of a small home would be great, we clean so much😑
@DeeDee-fi4kq12 күн бұрын
Finding Financial Freedom by paying $200,000 for an undeveloped 2 acre lot + an additional $350,000 for a minimalist small house build. I guess the downsize was parting with over half million in finances in order to obtain the financial freedom that comes with owning a small house on a heavily property taxed 2 acre lot.
