There is a movie of "And the Band Plays On," as well as the book. "Long Time Companion" is another movie about AIDS and AIDS crisis.

Great interview and glad you guys found each other. I don't get the "God made me this way" thing. I know there are some Bible passages that speak of God forming or knowing someone in the womb. However, if I say God made me, then he made everyone else. Why does God make some individuals with missing fingers, or with weak lungs, a twisted limb, or a disfiguring blotch on their face? Is God just having a bad day when someone is born with some disability? I think reproduction is a bit of a crap shoot; with our physical bodies and personality characteristics AND sexual orientation, a result of genetics, hormones, etc. At the same time, I'd say God is pragmatic in how he deals with humans. When Israel wanted a king, he warned them it was a bad idea, but once they went that route God blessed those who followed him. Same with gay guys, I believe God will bless them when they choose a morally upright lifestyle. Touching of knees--cool! My first bf pressed my knee with his at an organ recital.
