Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Hey Dan 👋...what a great video! Beautiful scenery...good company...I'm so happy you make these adventures available to us who can't get out and do this stuff! So interesting too...very educational. Say hello to Bellingham for me...I lived up in Birch Bay for 12+ years. I sure miss that area....So beautiful! We had an eagle arie in our backyard...I miss hearing them chortle in the spring. Now I have buzzards in Michigan....but I tell myself they're just eagles with alopecia! Lol!!

I just love watching your collaboration with Jason of MBMM. I have a buddy who got his prospecting license in Ontario, and he had a small silver/gold claim right here in Eastern Ontario. We may do a bit of prospecting just for fun this summer. But you west-coasters are so lucky in this regard--there's just more/easier gold out there....

Hey Dan, I'm fascinated with your channel. I could watch it for hours. I prospected enough gold to build my wedding band set. I hand made it entirely by hand. I commented on your sapphire video that I have dug diamonds in Arkansas and proposed to my wife with a stunning diamond I found. I would like to get back into gold. I started a Lake Superior agate channel, which is my favorite rockhounding avenue. But gold prospecting is what I would like to do when my kids get bigger. Super awesome channel.

@@erikmull4684 I visited Austin, Nevada once, since I live in Austin, Texas, and there is a lot of silver there. It's in little black veins about half an inch wide, separated by a foot of rock, all over the place. You can see them on the roadcuts. But it's simply not practical to tear down a whole mountain of rock to extract it. There's an amusing story about some Mormons who started a lead mine just north of Las Vegas, Nevada. They were trying to smelt out the lead on-site, but they couldn't get it right, because they always ended up with this black stuff contaminating the lead. They gave up. Twenty or 30 years later, someone else visited the site to explore it. The black contamination was silver. Lead and silver often go together.

I've lived in this house for over 20 years and about 2 months ago realized there are 2 illegal gold 'mines' about 100 meters from my front door. I had always wondered what all those box shaped digs are around here. Turns out to be some sort of Surface Mineral Classification from the 1900's. Well, this old river bank/bar beside us apparently is flush with gold. Old rocks that crumble in your hands and have lines of flakes beside them. Speaking of which I am off to get some more material to crush and then it's blue balls...oops I mean Blue Bowls all day long. :D

It took us 3.5 minutes to pick up all the debris Guess I could have spent 3 minutes spreading out a tarp and saved 30 seconds, but then folding the tarp after would have taken 60 seconds....... And the crusher and shaker tables don't care if there is a bit of rubbish in with it.
