Ive been making beats since 1986! Wow....32 years bro. Since LL was rocking the bells and run dmc was raising hell. I was using a casio sampler and a yamaha and alesis drum machines. The good ole days when "you gots to chill" was brand new. And blastmaster KRS One was dropping knowledge and Rakim wasnt "No Joke". Peace bro ...i really dig your videos....and God bless!
@Marvin Bennett yea bro. They had one shot samplers in the late 80s and Casio keyboards with like 1 seconds on Em. We used to speed up the records to sample longer loops👍

since 1984 (34 years) making beats, tape loops, chopping and truncating samples. It is said that great minds think alot. What you are doing is a wonderful thing. You are for me "The iron that sharpens iron" I am constantly inspired and reminded by your videos of what technical steps to make my production more clever than ever. Your principles on the mpc I apply the same ideology on FL Studio. You are genius. ..pure genius.

S'up brother! Started in 1993, working out ideas with a DJ & turntable, saving up my money for studio time to find out which of our ideas would work out with a decidedly NON hip-hop engineer. Then In about 2001 I got a copy of XCool Edit Pro (later turned into Adobe Audition) and started sampling my CD collection. In 2003 I got Reason and worked on that until about 2009, when my hard drives gave out and I lost all my song files and samples. That was hard to take and I quit for a while, considering I didn't have the money to replace what had broken. Then kids happened. Got back into beatmaking lte last year and just got the latest version of reason, so now I'm trying to regain and expand my knowledge and get to that next level!

Ive made beats for 3 months using only my iPhone and my first sampler the sp202 and a year and couple months later ive upgraded to a maschine mikro mk1. Im trying to get as close as I can to a mpc2000 as cheap as possible. I still use my sp202 for some nice sounding drums. It aint a mpc but I at least got 16 pads plus 8 more. Im only 17 and I have always and will forever love the boom bap style. Especially if its some original stuff, not just a simple loop. Its not bad to loop every once in a while but for it to be used on most beats can get pretty boring. We will be here forever!

Similar history to the last user. Making beats since 1996. Started with rebirth 808 and 909 software beatboxes, and a few old Roland, Alesis akai and Casio beatboxes/samplers. I'm new though to the school of chops. I got a few MPC consoles to take the abuse that had nearly worn out my old beatboxes, because vintage akai gear is easily maintainable, and parts are readily available.
