For anyone wondering what his actual score is I have deduced that it is a 5.8/10. The method at which I came to this conclusion is as follows: Assuming 1 straw kills one turtle and you have 9 turtles and 3.8 straws that means you have 5.2/9 of the turtles left which in decimal form is 0.57777 repeating which can be rounded up to 0.58 for simplicity. You then convert this back to Fraction form Which is how you come up with the score 5.8/10

3:08 You are kinda correct about the mines. The fuses on the outside of the mine need do be impacted to detonate. However, I do believe the torpedo was the source if detonation. This is because the torpedo, as well as the mines are from WWII and the explosives would have become very volatile and an explosion would have been easy. My guess is the torpedo fuse went off and exploded which caused the mine to explode which caused a chain detonation of all the other mines. Another key thing to note is the submarine itself, I hypothesize that the submarine was conducting mine laying operations and was sunk either due to a detonation of one of the mines or coming under fire from enemy forces. The damage to the submarine explains why the mines were so close together. If the sub was not damaged the mines would be more spread out to prevent chain detonation. This is my take on it, if I am incorrect, please correct me in a comment below.

You’re right about the mines except for they are extremely unstable so sometimes they randomly go off for no reason hence they don’t really do anything with them they just mark it as a no entry zone because they can go off at anytime due to the water damage

okay so, he WAS correct when he said the stuff about the mines, where they explode when pressure is applied to the pins, but... that is a sunken battleship. sunken battleships typically dont have torpedo primer removed from the torpedoes, which means they'd still go boom, and since those mines are also active, they go boom too.
