It was a great afternoon to finish off a wonderful day at Hervey Bay; the sky was determined to rain in the end, but I grabbed up a bunch of moon snails before that happened! I was really surprised by how many Calf Moon Snails were on the beach this time, and there was a plethora of Sordid Moon Snails too!! Which ones were you favourites?? Thanks for watching!
Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

I didn't even realise that Hervey Bay and it's surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admired him a lot, and you can also check out his videos here:

Hey Maddie 👋🏼 What a beautiful Commercial Scallop right off the bat!! I’m really liking the first Calf Moon Snail. Reminds me of the Gaudy Naticas we find in Florida.. 😃 I love ALL the Moon Snails 🐌 😍 LOL Whoa 😮 a cute, chubby, mysterious Wentle Trap you found 🥰 My favorite was the Spiny Murex, holes and all! Second is the baby Balers! The first one is the smallest one I ever saw 😮 Shoutout to the Thorny Oyster! They are so cool looking! Thanks for a great trip to Hervey Bay Maddie!! Take Care out there! TTFN 👋🏼 ❤

G'day Mimi 👋🏻💖 Oh my goodness, this Hervey Bay video was just lovely... I miss this beach; hopefully I will get a chance to go there again next week while I avoid all of the crowds closer to home, yikes 🙄 Anyhoo!! So the Calf Moon Snails remind you of the Gaudi Nauticas!! I think(?) they might be in the same genus (I will need to double-check that), but that might be why they look so similar! Oh! The mysterious wentletrap! It's actually a subspecies of a wentletrap that I have found before, but it's appearance is a lot different due to being a subspecies 😮 it's very cool to think about! I'm so, so glad that you loved the shells from this trip. Thanks for watching 🥰

Hi Maddie, hope all good with you. The cardita and mud arc very lovely start. Hard to say with the scallops both flats and curved shells have their plus points, just collect any that catch your eye! Haynes turban, one of my faves. Baby baler so cute! I love the drupe shell too.🐚 Some of those bladder moon snails had unique markings. And of course a strombus - I hope it was stink free 😂. Final display, work of art! Thank you❤xxx

G'day Alison 👋🏻💖 Everything is all good here; I finally a sunny day after so much rain anf cloud cover! I shouldn't complain though...I think you live in the cloud capitol of the world 🤣 I hope you're having a good day and staying warm!! This beach trip was a lot of fun with a nice mix of bivalves and gastropods 🐚🐌 I'm glad that you liked the Hayne's Turbans; I think you're the only person who's mentioned them so far! The scallops and balers were fabulous, but gosh, that final bladder moon snails really appealed to me 🤣 and the Strombus didn't stink 😉 only the really fresh ones with their original lovely dark markings are the smelly ones!! I know you want my hands and bucket to smell bad, but not this time!! As always Alison, thank you so much for watching 🥰

The wentltraps were gorgeous even broken. 🤩 My favorites of the day are the baby baler shells!!! 💗 And right on their 👠 heels, the flats!!! 🪭🪭🪭 Such beautiful colors in the flats today! As always, I truly love all the shells. We went to Matagorda Beach today. Did not find much. I was so disappointed. 😢😢😢 Thank you for another amazing video Maddie! 🥰🥰🥰

G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 The Wentletraps are lovely even when they're broken 😂 but hmm, I think the Wentletraps bring me back to this beach a little more than the moon snails these days 🤣 Oh wow, the baby Balers and the Flats at the favourites for you this time 😲 they were lovely, weren't they? OH NO PAM!!! What a big trip to find not much 😭 I would have been hugely disappointed too, I'm so sorry that you didn't have any luck this time. You just can't predict these things sometimes 😕 Don't let that get you too down; the next time might have massive wracklines and shell piles. Again, you just can't know for sure 😬 but I hope the trip was a nice day out for you and Lee, even if the shells weren't there this time 🥰🏖️🐚❤️

G'day Trudy 👋🏻💖 All is well over here: not much changes 😀 just the weather and the tides. The shells that wash ashore change too, I suppose 🐚😲 the Baler shells, Venuses, Moon Snails, and Wentletraps were so lovely, and even though there wasn't a new shells in this bunch, I'm still glad that you enjoyed watching the adventure 🥰 I hope all is well over there, I know so much for your time goes towards supporting your lovely husband. Stay strong, Trudy 💖❤️🙏🏻

Hi Maddie, I really love your channel, ya make me smile❤ I really think that the "noir" moon snail is my favorite by a smidgen, But I really think the baby bailer is adorable! As for scallops, the flats are cool but I love the peachy,pinky,purply pastel curved half of scallops. ❤

G'day Denise 👋🏻❤️ Oh my goodness, thank you for your very kind words 😁 I'm so glad that you're still enjoying my shenanigans over here 😂 Haha the "Noir" moon snail was a fun one - it really stands out a lot from the typical look of the other Bladder Moon Snails! Oh wow, the baby Baler and the wonderful pinky pastel scallop curved always get the mentioned today too ❤️ I'm so glad that you enjoyed seeing all of the shells 🐚 Thanks for watching the big adventure today 🥰

Hi Maddie, I love both the flat and curved side of commercial scallops. When you picked up the curved half of that commercial scallop I noticed an orangey looking shell upside down. Just wondering what kind that was, or why you didn't pick it up. So many different moons shells you guys have. Love the carditas shells. Nutmegs are much lighter than ours. The Wentletrap witch strikes again 😂. That very sotted dark Haynes Turban, gorgeous. Love the baby Baylor. Beautiful rock shell, some gorgeous moon snails. Spiny oyster. Yes yes having so much fun. Your energy is contagious 😂. Very interesting ark shells. Love the cross bared Venus. Sorry to see it come to an end. Just love your channel. Thank you Maddie

G’day Roberta 👋🏻💖 My goodness, thank you for your wonderful comment!! I think I like the scallops a little more…but then, some scallop curves have dotty patterns on them, and I love them the most!! Ahh, I just love them all too 🤣 as for the upside down orange shell, uhhh, I did look at that part of the video again, but I’m actually not sure…maybe a smaller kind of Mud Arc (I only show the very big ones that I pick up to keep) or it might have been a large shell fragment?? I honestly couldn’t tell you with any certainty anymore, but past Maddie must have thought it wasn’t a keeper 😅 As for the nutmeg, yes, ours are nowhere near as impressive at your Common Nutmegs! I have been given some more colourful nutmegs from Far North Queensland - like a browner Common Nutmeg; I might find some of them when I go up there later this year! Turbans, heaps of Turbans, Venuses, and a few Balers too! It was a surprisingly great day! I went out with my friend this time; but the morning was especially great because she set up a meeting with a shell seller to see what he had for sale, so I got a double dose of shelly goodness on this day! I’m sorry that this episode came to an end too soon, but hmm, I did put up a mini unboxing video on my Facebook Page about what I got from that shell seller in case you still want more today 🤣 Anyhoo!! Thanks for watching 🥰

Hi Maddie, it’s true we do have much cloud and rain here there is no denying it😢but in the spring and summer when all the plants come back to life it is beautiful. The definition of a strombus is the possibility of stink😂 only joking, I can’t resist I have a naughty sense of humour!!!!!!

Hi Maddie. I think the second wentletrap you found is Epitonium pallasi neglectum which is a subspecies of E. pallasi. I think it’s too big to identify as E. obesum or liliputanum.
@SandCoffeeRocks
@SandCoffeeRocks 6 ай бұрын
G'day friend 👋🏻🐚 Oh my goodness, you are much more knowledgeable about Wentletraps than anyone else I've met 😲 I had no idea that I picked up a subspecies of E. Pallasi (I have found one in the past, and knew it didn't look like the one I picked up from this trip) but to think that was the link I was missing when it came to identifying it! Thank you so much for setting this straight; I really wasn't sure about it being E. obesum or liliputanum, but no other Wentletrap species from my search looked even remotely close to a possible match 😯 Thank you again for the info and giving me a chance to nerd out about this 🤣 and thanks for watching 🥰

Hello! Beautiful abundance of seashells. I was wondering, what do you do with the seashells once you take them home? I absolutely love collecting them, but am unsure what to use them for or how to use them.
@SandCoffeeRocks
@SandCoffeeRocks 6 ай бұрын
Hello Fluffy 👋🏻🐚 Someone else was asking me this recently too! After I take them home and clean them, I put them into my display case so I can look at them and enjoy them that way. I have a video of my display case tour (forgive me, I cannot link it to you right now), but you can search for Episode 200 yo hopefully find it in my videos list. As for what to do with your shells; a lot of people like to make them into crafts; maybe you’d like something like that too! In the world today: shells are almost always used for decoration. Maybe you’d like to decorate picture frames, mirrors, boxes, or statues. You can also turn them into wind chimes. Actually, I see a lot of businesses that turn shells into jewellery like pendants, necklaces, and bracelets. I don’t know if that helps you, but I hope it does 🤔 maybe you can search the Internet for “shell craft ideas” and maybe find even more inspiration!

I've also seen people embed their shells in candles that have clear wax (gel wax?) so you can see the shells at the bottom... like a mini tidepool that you can melt?? That's another cool project to try!
