I love your style, I love mid century too, with a boho twist. I gasped wen I saw some of the items you highlighted in your video.

We love the teak lamp with the cylinder shade! Please share when you clean it? Maybe splurge on one of those ceramic tiled plant stands...you only live once. Go for it!

I love the small lamps but I am honestly drawn more to the warm wood with turned base lamp, 80’s or not. Love it! 🤷🏻♀️

Your music is so relaxing. I have a big Día de Los Muertos project I've been working on for several days and I was putting the last components together before the installation in my college this morning. I played your video and just listened to you chat and the music vibe was perfect. The project is installed (yay!) and I came home and re-watched your video and actually watched this time. So many nice things to look at and crave. I'm excited to see the finished video. Your squatty coffee mug is gorgeous and a perfect fit for you home.

Wow! Your antique stores are amazing. The prices of things show that though. I’m in Washington. Our thrift stores have always been incredible. I’ve never walked away without something great. Our antique stores, not so much, though if I went closer to Seattle, I’m sure it would be a different story. I absolutely don’t have the budget to spend 200 dollars on a lamp. Those stores you took us to though! Man, so much good stuff in one place!

I keep hearing Washington is thee place for thrifting! I can't wait to check out some stores there. It seems cheaper up there too from the videos I've seen! California is expensive no matter what it is, so.. there's that haha -- but I am obsessed with these stores now! They're the best I've found in SD to date..

That mid century modern lamp was gorgeous! It'll look great on top of a small stack of heavy books, or on the floor next to that large plant:)

I like the lamp you already have the best. I have photos I hang instead of art. They mean more to me since I am older and live by myself now. Replacing the metal blinds with the wooden ones is a good idea too.😊

Great video. You have such fabulous shops in California. But pricey! Loved so much of what I saw in the video. That bird would've gone home with me. About the rattan lamps. You can stain them darker but what I especially love about them is the contrasty nature of the tones in the rattan. It adds so much depth and texture to the lamps that makes them seem unique. They're a really great find.

I love watching your videos in-part because you gravitate towards many items that I typically don't, and seeing how you style them so incredibly is very fun and inspiring to me~ All the items you snagged were so cute, and the little rattan lamp is gonna look so good! 😍 Putting a mirror above the coffee bar could be so cute, too~ You could even personalize it with white chalk marker to put the favorite coffee recipes you guys are currently using, or seasonal drawings, etc. ☕ (The clock at 10:36 also produced the most soul-escaping gasp from me in the best way)

On those rattan lamps...find a crochet doily to put on top of the shade. That is what I do to my lamp shade tops. Don't attach it, just lay it over the top. It also helps filter the light

Amazing job on the coffee bar redo! Consider using a wall mounted fixture if you need additional light. The top of your coffee bar next to your kitchen perhaps could be empty for a prep area, or perhaps have a serving tray for carrying multiple items between the coffee nook and the kitchen.

Antique malls are fun, I've always found them to be more pricier than thrift stores though. I think a couple of open shelves above the coffee bar would work nicely.

I absolutely gasped when I saw that Showa-era Japanese lamp. It's almost certainly too expensive in the US but I would have bought that in Taiwan, where I live, in a heartbeat (that sort of thing is not too pricey here). But to each their own I guess.

Just found your channel, and I am catching up with all of your videos! Love your style and how discriminating your taste is. Great job. But....girl, you need to hit up the thrift stores! I know California can have some high prices, but you will get much better deals, especially since you have such great vision for items.
@livingwithlk2 ай бұрын
Thanks! I have a big playlist on here of all the thrift stores I’ve gone to and you’ll see the prices aren’t much cheaper! And the selection is much more general. The options are just not high quality in terms of style. It’s rare to find a good piece there as they’re very picked over in California. If I’m looking for specific statement pieces I only ever find those on Facebook Marketplace, estate sales, or the antique malls. As you’ll see from my secondhand shopping videos!

Stop saying LIKE. Very distracting. Love your ideas!😉
@livingwithlk2 ай бұрын
Funny you mention it! 'Like' actually isn’t just filler for young females (who are often the recipients of such critique)-it’s 'an incredibly versatile and dynamic word' that helps bring, like, nuance and connection to conversations. As linguist Alexandra D’Arcy explains, it lets me tell a story 'without promising complete accuracy,' making it easier to convey the feeling of what I’m saying. It’s also a handy way to check if we’re, like, on the same page. So, I guess I’ll keep saying it, thanks for noticing!!😉 Source: www.theguardian.com/science/2022/may/15/why-do-people-like-say-like-so-much-in-praise-of-an-underappreciated-word
