I am so thrilled to be publishing this game, and think the Henry Stickmin fans out there will love it!
The long awaiting finale to Finding the References for the Henry Stickmin Collection! In this episode I cover all the missed references in Completing the Mission, as well as expanding on a few that didn't previously cover things comprehensively enough.
I always knew this video was going to be a LOT of work. I even tried to make it a few times over the last year or more, and kept getting overwhelmed. So we all need to give Fruz a BIG thank you for taking on the editing duties on this. Please PLEASE go check out their channel!!

I'd still love to do what I've done with Gaster Eggs, and compile everything into a final "Director's Cut" of sorts. Then ALL the references can exist in 1 massive video, minus any redundancies, and with all-but-1 intro/outro removed. I need a Stickmin break though. I feel like the insta shield thing is more a refrence to how super sonic is activated in sonic games as you have to do the same input for super sonic as the indtashield. The difference is obviously henry doesn't have all of the emeralds.

In Pressumed Dead's costume option, the guards shoot a snowperson who they assume is Frosty, however, in the song it's mentioned that Frosty has a button nose, and arms, 2 things that the other snowperson is missing, this could be referencing the fact that sometimes people will take a random snowman and refer to it as Frosty

During the toppat king route, if you choose to abandon Reginald, a toppat says "We've got a bogey inbound" which could be a reference to star fox where Falco refers to enemies as bogeys. It's also almost a direct line of Falco from super smash bros ultimate. If you hit 2 or more enemies with Falco's final smash, he says "We've got multiple bogeys inbound"

16:45 there is more to this reference. Both going super and the insta shield are activated by pressing jump while in the air. So if you dont have the emeralds/ enough rings, but still try to go Super, you just insta shield, which is what happened to Henry here

I commented a missed reference on a previous video and I was SO anticipating seeing it in this video but it wasn't. It's a part with Henry and Ellie (I think), in this location (25:15), where Henry fires a controllable rocket, the motions of which look identical to Snake's Nikita in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As someone who plays Smash it was really obvious to me and it's just a shame it wasn't in this video. Great video though, and great series. I'm glad to have kept up with it.

Putting blåberd into Google Translate for Swedish-to-English initially shows "blueberry" and brings up the suggestion of "blåbärd" which it translates to "blueberries". Typing "blaberd" (only English alphabet letters) gives an initial result of "blabbermouth" while suggesting to translate from English. Typing "bluebird" for English-to-Swedish gives a result of blåfågel. I don't see a direct translation for the name itself so it's probably a spin on something rather than a common word.

There’s only one thing I can think of that you missed - RHM’s “Time In A Bottle” or “Bottled Time” stand likely references how every main villain in parts 3-6 of JoJo has a stand that can manipulate time. DIO can stop time, Kira can rewind it, Diavolo can skip it, and Pucci can fast-forward it.

When henry uses the pew pew gun on camera, there is a few frames where a white box appears on the toppats. That is a reference to how the nes light zapper works in games it is used on, where the screen for a bit turns black with white boxes at the targets, and the zapper checks for the white box qnd if it sees it, it registers as a hit.

I believe there's a couple of Star Fox 64 references tied to Mr. Macbeth. First, the stage Macbeth features a long train that travels through the level so Mr. Macbeth being the Toppat's train conductor is fitting. Secondly, when you speed up the train and crash it into the Toppat base, someone yells "I CAN'T STOP IT!", that being a direct quote from SF64 when you change the train route to send it roaring into a facility

The "Underbarrel Grenade Luancher" in the Free Man path might also be a reference to Half-Life's recurring SMG weapons. A theme among Half-Life's SMGs is that they have underbarrel grenade launchers, but are based on guns which said grenade launchers cannot be attached to. In Half-Life 1, it's an MP5, and in HL2, it's an MP7. In the Free Man path, the gun the launcher is attached to is an AK-47, another gun which is not built to carry a grenade launcher.

I think the thing with Henry being held captive and being held in place reminds me of a spinoff madness combat episode where a grunt gets his hand trapped in these boxes thing as an experiment and then they get pulled away, then the grunt just starts to fly around and break the physics of reality. Also the whole thing with the shooting an arm, it actually doesn’t appear in the normal Megaman 5. It appears in the Gameboy Megaman 5, which is actually called Megaman V. And if it didn’t come after, then it’s first appearance is actually Megaman 7.

Can't remember if this was brought up in the original video or not, and also maybe the quote IS from Dragon Ball and I haven't seen it, but I'd like to add a possible reference to the fusion scene. In it Kabbitz says "You think just 'cause your fused you're a match for me." To me this always felt like a nod to Jasper from Steven Universe, who has a bunch of similar lines including the infamous "fusion is just a cheap tactic to make weak Gem's stronger." Like, everything else in that scene is 100% how Dragon Ball handled fusion (the mirrored dance, the midair fight, the screaming, the crazy hair, the crater impact) but for a line that was memed so heavily during the game's development I feel like it could have played a part in how cocky Kabbitz is over their strength. You don't see single-entities bragging so confidently about their strength over fusions in most media that has them, so it really stood out.

The instashield is specifically a reference to how you activate super sonic in sonic 3 (and technically 2 but that didn't have the instashield) where you press jump midair with 50 rings and all the emeralds, however pressing jump midair without the emeralds/rings is how you do the instashield. The joke is that henry did the input to go super but didn't meet the requirements for it to actually work, thus instashield.

Difference for valiant hero and the end of chris chapter 5 in RE6: Charles was forced to sacrifice himself to save henry. Piers willingly sacrificed himself to save chris since he had to inject himself with the virus to kill the HAOS B.O.W. which while it tried to perform a last-ditch effort to kill Chris, Piers sends out one last burst of electricity to kill the B.O.W.

When I saw the thumbnail for this video I thought there was going to be a reference mentioned about that scene from the ending of Pardoned Pals, just like the previous Missed References video has a thumbnail of characters dancing and includes discussion of the Distraction Dance. But after getting to the end of this video, I guess it's symbolic of you celebrating the completion of your mission explaining the many references found in the Henry Stickmin series. Though one note about that image at the end of Pardoned Pals: during the developer commentary stream, Puff said "orange juice" at that moment, just to mention what beverage was in the glasses. Nothing really fancy.

16:40 Extra layer to the Insta-shield joke: Insta-shield was introduced in Sonic 3, and could be used by pressing a jump button while in mid-jump (like if you attempted to double jump). The same button input is used to turn into Super Sonic when you have all 7 Chaos Emeralds. The joke being played out here, of course, is that Henry tried to turn into Super Son- er, Henry, but since he only has 1 emerald he just used the Insta-shield.

If you haven't included them already the JoJo fail for Spirit form has a few more JoJo references. Going on from the localised name reference the characters say "Standoh" it means stand while the subs say "spirit". A rendition of DIO's theme is played when RHM stops time. The time stop is also grey and has white streaks of wind as scene when Jotaro or DIO stop time and finally RHM monologuing during his time stop is a reference to a common trope of how JoJo characters who can stop time speak long monologues that go after the actual duration of frozen time.

Another thing about the Super Henry fail: In Sonic 3, you activate the instashield by pressing the jump button while in the air. The same inputs are used to transform into Super Sonic if all 7 Emeralds are collected. However, if you are missing said Emeralds, like Henry, trying to transform will only result in an instashield.

I can help a little bit with the Spirit Form option on Revenged: 1) Reference, or should I say Tribute as a reference to how fans tend to refer to Stands by their unaltered names, yelling "Failure", coupled with Reference's color scheme, is actually a reference to Star Platinum yelling "ORAORAORAORAORAORAORA". 2) Bottled Time, or should I say Time in a Bottle, slowing down time and then outright stopping time, could be referring to how Dio, and later Jotaro, slowly gain the ability to stop time for longer periods of time. 3) the sequence where Reference is punching Right Hand Man is kinda funny, since that moment references Part 5, but Reference references Part 3, the only part where the JoJo's Stand didn't get its name altered. (Star Platinum, unless you count Hermit Purple.)

I think the max gravity boots option on the solar panel section (22:40) might be a reference to the gravity suit from some of the metroid games (most recently metroid dread). In that game, the gravity suit gave you normal gravity under water, and the max gravity boots give normal gravity in space.
