I had go home and die cancer. I did mediation. I meditated on peace during radiation. Surgeon had to do another cancer surgery and said I would have scar tissue from radiation. I told him about meditation. Surgeon said I don't believe in that stuff. After surgery he said it is a miracle. I had no scar tissue. At five years he told me I was cured. No one knows why I did not die from 90% death rate cancer. Who can explain the power of the mind? I am thankful to survive.

The way to let go of a mobile phone habit is to find something more important to do, that you like to do, that you find MEANINGFUL. The search for meaning in our lives is the most important thing we will ever do.

@@y9w1 No, you simply do nothing. Ego must find its meaning, and that's fine, but it doesn't mean you have to pay attention to the false agent in your mind

As a nurse the poop story really hits home. Excrement is a huge indicator of health and not many people outside of the medical profession value this. Nice to know others appreciate and get excited over a great bowel movement!

They do have a way of purifying the soul...Freud had some ideas on a good shit...but those thoughts were probably more of an indication of cocaine or heroin abuse...freud a spokesman for merk...I myself find complete here and now in the moment...no past no present...just living in the hererand now...cleaning the soul with a good old fashion shit...

There are three signs of getting old. The first sign of getting old is dementia, forgetting things. The other two are, are, ....... At my age, I forget the other two. LOL. Thanks Ajahn Brahm. You are the best.

Yes, its weird but had happened many occasions in Srilanka too.. During the civil war, a soldier had visited his home unexpectedly in the middle of the night and his wife was so surprised. After awhile he wasn't to be seen inside the house and next day morning she was informed her husband passed away the exact time he visited home due to injuries from a bomb blast. But these are very rare incidents.

You are talking rubbish regarding the losing of loved ones and being at ease with it,that has absolutely nothing to do with being a monk it believing and accepting that nothing is forever and we all return to nature to eventually be reborn that my friend is Taoist Buddhist etc but don't put yourself or any other monk on a pedestal because Christians mourn the passing of a loved one or another religion or set of people don't do it the way you do,there isn't a person alive who knows what is after this they all have a theory but that's all it is,you sit and advocate your position of poverty as though it brings you closer than the next person to your nirvana and my answer to this is if you have the ability to earn and help another who doesn't would this not be seen as more admirable in the eyes of god rather than trying to emulate Buddha, even the Buddha said he passed a begger who said he had nothing and the Buddha replied you have arms and legs and your health in other words go and earn a living or go and help someone who doesn't have the same as you.if you see a hungry child do you say a prayer give a blessing or go and buy the child some food.

A good monk can help people in different ways (akin to a psychologist but minus the at times exorbitant fees they charge)... A life as a monk is not "easy" too...

Poop and fertilizer is that guy's metaphor for being dumped. He's dead inside so hides out being a monk. Don't take other people's sadness. It's their karma after all right. Lololol
