Dirk is a real name I’ve seen a few times, but I’m pretty sure it’s mostly in like Central Europe so maybe a little odd to some? I think part of why Erisol works for people is that he is the sanity in Trickster Mode, which is notably devoid of sanity. The PesterQuest Dave sprites has big “I just graduated High School and I’m taking a gap year” energy and it fits him imo, I remember when I was that age. Jade’s sprites don’t quite communicate that she is a nerd who happens to be a jock at all which is exactly what she is (at least to me). My favourite part of Nepeta is how her hair makes her horns look like cat ears, which is adorable.

the people writing pesterquest fs had an eridan bias and a sollux hatred it was a little weird. The person who did roxy, nepeta, gamzee, and vriskas sprite is haven, an artist i really like who definitley put some of his personal biases in when designing thme- hes a huge black strilonde champion- and hes actually an artist for the New post cannon content!

The pq tier list is roughly where i place it I haven't played pq in a long while but generally remember what happens Still wish callie and calliborn got an entry they deserved it the most out of the characters left out They aren't main characters but theyre more main characters then like 4 of the trolls (but if youre gonna do multiple trolls you kinda have to do all of them)

This might be controversial to recommend without playing friendsim or reading the epilogues but I do totally think you should play pesterquest when you have the time!! As someone who played it before both of those things it didn’t feel like it hindered my experience at all. (Then again I don’t really care about friendsim so maybe that’s just me lmao) it’s completely non canon and imo just a very fun read. Plus I’d love to hear your thoughts on the characterizations. You were right btw- it takes place before the game :)! So it’s all those characters at their earliest.

nepetas name is not a "huh" tier. nepeta is part of the scientific name of catnip. if i didnt know hokestuck and heard nepeta as a name id be like "well not an english name but its easy to say"
