Chara didn't try to kill asgore. They and asriel were baking him a treat and accidentally used poisonous flowers instead of the ingredient they needed because they had similar names (i think they needed a couple cups of butter and instead used buttercups or something like that)

As cool as the Chara butterfly effect theory is it has a lot flaws, the biggest flaw being about Gerson. If this theory is true it means that the first war still happened which would then mean Gerson is considered a war hero by the monsters and yet nowhere in the game of Deltarune is gerson referred to as that. Not even the memorial bench dedicated to him says it, it only says he was a historian, a teacher, a writer, and maybe few other stuff but nothing about him being a war vet.

babe wake up a 2 hour long deltarune video just came out 22:19 when beginning chapter 2, u have that black screen where toriels talking and says something like "kris? Is that a knife? noooo!" this theory implies that this scene is a flashback kris is having to a time in the past where they were carrying a knife for whatever reason and toriel was screaming, because why would toriel's reaction to a knife in the pie pan be so dramatic and out of place ?

I think it's definitely possible that the Toriel line is a non-sequitur to the scene that follows, but I could also totally see it being an intentional red-herring. After all, we all expected Kris to be doing something bad with the knife between chapter 1 and chapter 2 releasing, so the reveal that they just used it to eat the pie is meant to subvert our expectations.

My first thought seeing "Angel's Hell" was another video by SpookyDood that I swore had that phrase in the thumbnail. Fortunately, I wasn't misremembering! It's a video from about a year ago named "SOLVING DELTARUNE'S BIG TWIST" if you want to find it. In short, the theory is that Gaster is The Angel in the prophecy because he wrote it to trick the player to free him from The Depths™ through completing a Pacifist playthrough, and only by completing a separate Weird Route playthrough (which will...connect you to Dess?) can you defeat him and banish the Angel's Heaven. It's mainly attempting to solve how there can be multiple routes, but only one ending. PLEASE NOTE THAT I SKIMMED THE VIDEO TO MAKE THIS SUMMARY since it was a while since I watched it, so don't take my word as gospel. Because of that (and a video about "Devil's Heaven") I can't be certain if SpookyDood still agrees with his own theory anymore.

Oh damn, that's the tier list I created. I didn't expect someone to actually use it lol. I made it during one evening where I was endlessly bored and tried to store the highest number of Deltarune theories I could find. This process, however, led to the creation of a tier list so packed with theories that most people won't even know what 60%/70% of these theories even entail. The evidence for Ralsei working with Gaster is that Ralsei heard of the prophecy from somewhere since it was “whispered through time and space”, and the first piece of Deltarune we got was Gaster saying on the Deltarune website “Three heroes appeared to banish the angel’s heaven”

I get your point about ralsei gender theories, especially back in the early days of the fandom there were a lot of people who acted like because ralsei isnt stereotypically masculine he cant be a guy, but we have to differentiate here, there is a difference in acting like a character cant be their gender because they do not adhear to restrictive gender norms (eg. Saying rasei cant be a boy because he doesnt "act like one" and therefore must be a cis girl), and headcanoning a character to have a different gender identity than in canon For example the transfem headcanons around ralsei are "ralsei seems to be very prophecy minded, a rule follower and someone who is either too scared to stray from the path paved before him or he doesnt even know that rebellion is an option, but because of that, he doesnt understand who he is or who he could be beyond what he has been told he should be, so wouldnt it be interesting if when he started trying to explore who he could be he would explore his gender aswell?" Its basically a what if scenerio, one that seeks to find the potential story beats that could be explored in deltarune Queer headcanons like these are often a way for people to see themselves in the characters that they like Now some may ask what the difference in seeing ralsei as transfem to seeing kris as a girl/boy. Easy The difference is that ralsei transfem headcanons seek to bring him outside of the norm, meanwhile treating kris as a girl/boy is trying to bring them into the norm. Its people who are typically transphobic treating them as abnormal for not using gendered pronouns and therefore force gendered pronouns upon them. Again, not too disimilair to people, typically big youtubers like matt and steph on gtlive back when deltarune first dropped, acting like ralsei is abnormal if he was a boy who acted girlish, so they treat him like a girl Which is from my perspective wildly different to seeing him as transfem, as being a feminine guy, while seen as abnormal by quite a number of people, is not seen to be as abnormal as being transfem Tldr Ralsei=girl stems from gender essentialist views that come transphobic roots, while ralsei=transfem is a headcanon originating from trans people with links to the themes of the game Tldrrr: Idk its complicated I dont even like the ralsei=transfem theory I just think about this stuff a lot and have a tendency to ramble for WAAAAY TOO LONG, sorry about that

Arguments about mid theory : Papyrus is the egg man : In the date we can see an egg in the interface. In a merch of deltarune we can see Papyrus behind a red tree. If we meet the egg man in chapter one we can see him in one of the car in the traffic that means it's a lightner. After pick the egg the man disappear and who can teleport in Undertale ? Sans, the brother of Papyrus ! Rouxls Kaard is important : in the shop his face look like the mistery man. He has theme of Gaster in background. His anagram "RK" is like Roaring Knight.

This is gonna be a really long comment while I comment on every theory I have something to say for, so be prepared for that! Noelle killed Dess: if this turned out to be the case, then I think it would go like this. It was an accident, Noelle repressed the information in a similar way to what she does in Snowgrave, and Kris is the only person who knows and they helped cover it up. So the rest of the town thinks she just ran away/disappeared. This could be cool, but it also feels too similar to another indie rpg inspired by Earthbound so I don't know. It could happen, but I'm not counting on it. Naked Ralsei Theory: if I remember right, a big part of this theory that you didn't bring up is the fact that Ralsei removes a new article of clothing in each chapter. His hat and then his glasses. So the theory also suggests that this is a pattern that will continue. Still, just a funny joke. Gaster Fanboy Theory: I'm pretty sure that this one is heavily connected to the Gaster fanfic theory, but with extra focus on the fact that he likes the main cast, and treats them as fictional similar to what we do. My favorite way to describe this is Gaster saying "I LOVE THIS FUNNY LESBIAN WITH ANXIETY, SHE'S MY FAVORITE CHARACTER. I'M GOING TO REACH OUT AND SHOW HER HOW MUCH I CARE ABOUT HER" and this unintentionally leads to all the weird shit in Noelle's life. Transfem Ralsei: it is weird that Ralsei gets all the gender theories, but transmisogyny is a subtle bias in a lot of people's minds, so it's not entirely unexpected. I actually do have some stuff to say on this, but it'll fit better with the next Ralsei theory. Ralsei is Kris' Ideal Self: so my personal theory is that Ralsei is everything Kris wished they could be when they used to wear the red horn headband. A goat monster, a member of the Dreemurr family, nice, considerate, and smart. Just like their older brother. But I think it can also go deeper as a reflection of their feelings about their gender. Kris is nonbinary, and I think that is a specific choice on Toby's part. A great video by Tiger Bear digs into every instance of Kris being referred to by gender neutral pronouns, and she discovered something really interesting. The first ever instance of Kris being gendered is after we come back from Susie and Lancer, specifically after "...so that's why..." from Ralsei. It's a brief moment and then Kris isn't really gendered for the rest of the chapter. This changes in Chapter 2 where Kris is referred to by neutral pronouns constantly. Tiger Bear suggests, and I agree, that this was intentionally done to have a player project their own gender onto Kris at the beginning of the game, then foreshadow their independence both with their conversation with Ralsei and starting to gender them correctly, before the end of chapter 1 fully reveals that Kris is a distinct character from the player. And once that is revealed the story doesn't hold back on using Kris's pronouns because the player should already know that they are not a self insert. And since I do believe that this was all done intentionally, I do think it's possible that Ralsei and Kris' desire to be a monster could serve as a parallel or a metaphor to gender dysphoria. When Kris was younger they wore the headband to fit in, but now that they are older they don't rely on that as much. They got rid of the headband and are working to like themselves. This could also explain why Kris doesn't heal as much from Ralsei tea, Ralsei is a reflection of a part of their life that they tried to leave behind. And the implications of this for Ralsei could be really interesting here. Ralsei already talks a lot about how he doesn't know how to be himself, and his entire existence is centered around Lightners so I think it's very likely that he has an arc where he moves away from purely being a representation of Kris, and part of that could be him "transitioning" in a way. Maybe not in the way people envision when they say he's transfem, he might keep male pronouns for example, but I could see him changing his appearance to be less of a copy of Asriel. This last part is all speculation obviously, but I can see the line to lead to that point. Ralsei is working with Gaster: the only evidence I can think of is that the prophecy he knows was whispered across time and space, and was quoted by Gaster on the Deltarune website. So I think it's entirely possible that Ralsei heard the prophecy from Gaster, but anything beyond that is up in the air rn Ralsei Theory(Daisynose): I like this one! If Ralsei isn't the horned headband or an extension of Kris then I think this is my next best guess! Kris is DR Chara: in a literal sense, I think Kris is literally the DR equivalent of Frisk. I think if they are an equivalent to an UT character it has to be them. But it's also a really low stakes theory. Susie is from a human community: the only other pieces of evidence I can think of is that she's self conscious about her tail and that she singled out Kris to bully when she arrived. Weird Route with Toriel: I'm not sure. I could see it, but I also feel like the weird routes might be Noelle exclusive. She's just so unique in that way Sans' brother isn't Papyrus: could you imagine if we meet Sans' brother and it's just Sans' sprite but scaled down to be smaller? Honestly I could see that being a short gag before we actually see Papyrus. DR is an UT alternate timeline: Deltarune is clearly post-scratch Undertale Skies Forever Blue is connected to DR: at most I can at Skies forever blue being a continuation of a theme Toby likes exploring, what is video game character reacted to a human player in a realistic way. Like, the things in it might end up being similar to Deltarune, but I don't think it's at all literal. Kris has trauma related to Dess: I think Kris playing the piano like Noelle described in her blog is hinting at Kris having some sort of trauma response and using the piano to process it. The timeline is a bit hard to figure out though. Was Kris going over to play piano after or before Dess disappeared? I'm not sure Chara/Frisk is Asriel's college roommate: this one is just cute and funny, I like it The Depths: another piece of evidence is that the background image in the Goner Maker segment is called IMAGE_DEPTHS. Papyrus is the Egg Man: I don't believe this is true, but there are a few decent scraps of evidence. 1. In Papyrus' dating hud there is a single, white egg. 2. Papyrus' favorite food is oatmeal with dinosaur eggs(this one feels weak to me but I always see it get brought up). And 3. There is merchandise of Papyrus peeking out from behind a red tree. I know merchandise shouldn't be considered canon, but there was also a Noelle sticker that hinted at the Weird Route before chapter 2 even released so it's possible for some concepts to leak through. Overall, I don't think it's true but I felt like I needed to at least give it a fair chance and list what evidence it does have. UT's underground is a dark world: I think this is implying that all the monsters are still Lightners, and that the "barrier" trapping them underground was a dark fountain thing. Of course, that would beg the question of why there aren't and Darkners, why the barrier is depicted as light, and went 7 humans were needed to escape rather than just one. Idk, that's a weird one Device Theory: DEVICE THEORY MENTIONED. LET'S GOOOOO. Fr this is by far my favorite theory. Even if it's not true, I desperately want someone to someday make a game with the idea Gaster=Letter: my best guess on the valentine letter is it being whoever is IMAGE_FRIEND. WandyDoodles' theory on Image_Friend is the only one I've heard on the topic that really stuck out to me Asgore had a hand in Dess' disappearance: a joke theory I had was that Asgore hit her with his truck(he cast Bergen-Trückung or Truck Grave) since she's a deer and that's funny. But in reality, I think if Asgore knew what happened to Dess he would've told everyone. He's never been the type to keep secrets, even to the children he's intending to kill. So even if Asgore accidentally killed Dess or something I doubt he'd try to cover it up. I think he legitimately had no idea how to find Dess, so he stopped looking

​@@bagaboo4746 if what jevil has is confidence, i don't think it's led him to a place where he's having a good time. maybe he does have fun laughing crazily to himself in his little cell, but it doesn't seem like a very fulfilling fun to me, and i don't think it's one the game endorses. the way he taunts the fun gang about being in "their cell" also seems prideful to me, bc he's lording his own "freedom" over them. i'd also argue for him representing pride in a more biblical sense, which is basically an act that puts your own desires above those of others. and fulfilling his own most basic surface-level desires is kinda jevil's whole deal. after talking to gaster, jevil became completely obsessed with himself, probably stopped seeing his peers as people, and seemed fine with being locked away with only himself for company. "seeing the world as a game", right? sort of implies he saw himself as a protagonist, and those around him as NPCs. (though maybe you could argue that's wrong, and he went insane bc he realized HE was one of the NPCs?) sorry for text wall haha

Asriel must be at least 100 years old at this point, that's pretty low considering the time difference between each human falling underground, and I doubt anyone with 100 years later I would still be in college, or that Toriel and Asgore would still be alive. Furthermore, there is no evidence that deltarune's monsters came from the underground, and the timing makes no sense. The timing doesn't make sense because the last human fell (frisk), the monsters from Undertale already existed, so if this theory is true, the monsters came out of the underground very recently

Dess is the knight because Asrial, Batty, Catty and pizzapants. Were the previous generation of Deltarune warriors. They had their own adventures until thay too closed the roaring and saved everything. Dess was tragically trapped in the dark and asrial left to look for and academic way to bring her back. Dess is going mad and is opening fountains. FROM the dark world side to try and bridge the two worlds.

Yeah, pretty much. Though I feel like the Valentine had the tone of a character that's going to be more relevant to the story than I feel the egg man will be, so it kind of depends if you think the egg man is a big player or not, haha.

On the whole theories regarding gender. A lot of those theories stem from the baseline belief that if Kris is enby then do other characters get a similiar treatment. Except... There has no been direct confirmation. On occasion, when being interviewed about this line of questioning, Toby has declined to comment/answer. He could put all this speculation to rest but he prefers to stay silent, implying there is more than what people assume. Let's start with Frisk. In Undertale, the main player character is designed to be ambigious as possible as to make the player assume the role. A blank slate is easier to write on than a full one. Which is why Frisk has a nonsensical name, that no human would have, yellow skin, child appearance (children are androgynous), obsured features (eyes/face), and even being able to name them your name. Undertale's early development supported this idea, as Toby made a joke post on Starman Forums calling the character androgynous. Which is not the same thing as enby. Keep in mind, Frisk is only a child so they aren't capable of being able to have that level of self-reflection about themselves. A book came out that shed light on Undertale's translations and it mentioned that the one who has the most DT in the Underground can use the SAVE/LOAD system. Who has access to this feature? The player. Not only that, but it mentions how there are 3 entities in Undertale, the player, humans, and monsters. Which is supported by the fact Flowey's in-game face changes to 3 circles rotating around a center axis when he says "Everyone". The question becomes, is Kris the same as Frisk? Or are they really referred that way by their choice? The reason why other monsters call you "they" is because they have no idea what member you are of your kind. (They lack knowledge) As proven from Toriel needing a book about "How to take care of a human" and other NPC monsters not understanding how human bilogy functions. The only case you could make for Kris is that their family knows by what they preferred to be called. However, its uncertain if gender even exists for humans in UT/DT, as these aren't your run-of-the-mill humans.

I suppose from the outside looking in that all makes enough sense, but you'd think after living in the town for over a decade Kris would have made what they'd prefer to be called known, at least to their friends and family. Especially if it was just meant to imply the player, wouldn't it be more effective to have someone like Ralsei (who seems to know about the player) call Kris they and draw attention to it rather than everyone? If Toby really wanted to emphasize the divide between Kris and the player by using gender, then giving you an option in the goner maker and then having Kris use something else would be more straightforward. I do agree with your thinking on the gender theories though. I don't think the game's theme is gender identity at this point, so it's more likely just going to be a fact that's part of the world like all the gay couples in Undertale.

@guiltyflygon I actually want to expand a bit more on this. I think the "they" (at least in Undertale) could be plural, not singular. It states in Undertale that monsters don't have physical bodies like humans do. Which is why they melt and are incredibly weak to physical attacks. Their "physical" form is linked to their SOUL. And the attack patterns they make is also from their SOUL magic This is also why I believe they can see your SOUL in Undertale. Because monsters are far more incorporeal beings. Humans are different, their corporeal bodies are separate from their souls. Which is why when a human dies, their physical body dies, but the SOUL remains. They aren't linked. Monsters understand they are 2 in one, so refer to them as "they". A soul and a body. This is why I believe monsters would call Kris regardless. I believe this is why Kris in Deltarune can take out their SOUL and still be alive. They function as 2 entities of the same person. Which is why both can act independently if separated. So maybe Kris's body upon separation is The Knight.

About the Suzie talking about bleeding thng- do we have any confirmation that monsters turn to dust in Deltarune? Or don't bleed? You could bring the same question back to Undertale. Maybe monsters can bleed and Sans is the only one we specifically see doing it- and we can assume he turns to dust given the noise offscreen after his fight. EDIT: I got to that part of the video 🙃 Also now that I've gotten further in I'd like to add that I have a theory similar to the "Undertale areas paralleled in Deltarune" theory- that it applies to all aspects of Deltarune (or at least its Dark Worlds) and goes both from the end & from the start. I don't think it has any lore implications, mostly just being surface level, but if it holds weight it could help up make some guesses about future areas or characters.

As a counter point, remember that the Computer Lab's doors were changed in chapter 2's update into a double door. This was likely done to accommodate the "jumping into a dark world" animation. So far chapter 3 is the only dark world we haven't had to enter from the outside yet, so it doesn't need a larger door to accommodate said animation. In the future, if we're not present for the creation of a dark world again, then the dark world's location will need a double door. Of course, the double door could just be added like the computer lab's was, so we can't say anything for sure... But it's the best direction we've got for theorizing.

Im not 100% sure But i feel like the idea of the ending of chapter 2 being kris' dream isnt really ever talked about I think its possible it could be a fake-out like how chapter 1 ended with it seeming like kris attacks torial ya-know? There isnt really any evidence of this though

Kris can't be the knight. Queen said the knight have long arm and Kris doesn't. The closet in the library say a big person can hide (checkov's gun). Berdly and noelle have put their stuff down so the fountain has been while the day, when we control Kris.
