Finding the unexpected in abandoned mine while exploring alone.

This was a strange end to a even stranger mining district. Although, we will return. This explore was going as usual, the usual mine stuff etc. Then I turn a corner and see something concerning. I was spooked just a bit, to say the least. Being alone in these abandoned places can really mess with your mind. This one did a little. If you watch past 6 min then you'll see. Most people just watch about 6 min of my videos and tend to miss the best parts!

Great video! The many branching tunnels, the occasional stopes, and the interconnectedness of it all is very interesting and a bit unusual. You might have to go back and dig out that collapsed portal you came across just beyond where the sleeping bag and bed were just to see where it comes out on the mountainside! A couple local explorers here where I live explored one of our local mines up in the mountains about 15 years ago. It went in pretty far and eventually they came across an area where there was a flooded vertical shaft in the floor that was full of crystal clear water. Next to the shaft was a sleeping bag, pots and pans, clothing, and other implements from someone who had been obviously living in there. Nobody else was in the mine, though. A couple years later when I finally made it to that mine, I found that a huge collapse had unfortunately occurred in the meantime about 80 feet in from the portal that effectively sealed off the mine and all those extensive workings beyond. Always wondered if the person who owned that sleeping bag was in there when the collapse occurred and got trapped behind it. Happy new year!

Ohhhh man, that's a crazy story. Yeah, that would've been horrible if it did collapse with that person inside. One will never know I guess? That dirt was definitely loose enough to dig out for sure. Happy new year to you as well sir!

Whoa! Great discovery! That's one I don't recall ever finding. Those passages going down are something to investigate... Those sleeping arrangements must have been eerie discovering! I think I heard the "ON" switch being activated for your safety tool, lol. Great edit man!

You didn't go in that one? That's the one on the south side way up on top to the west. Yes, on switch was definitely activated. I didn't show it on the video but I was definitely freaked out. What's weird is the fact that the bed was closer to that collapsed portal so I am wondering if whomever came in, came in that way, there was trash scattered towards that way than the other. Thanks bro!
