We had a tether ball pole in our backyard. I used to climb it, and just hold myself up there for the longest time. With my arms wrapped around the pole, I used to suck my left bicept until it bruised. I can still hear my late mother yelling "Roger, stop that!" from the screened in patio. LOL

To stop the rope coiling around the pole, make an S bend from thicker wire. Insert a long end down into pole. Outside end fashion into a loop. Attach rope/carabiner and then it can free spin.
