I had a friend who wanted to body double with me, low stakes, no talking necessary and I couldn't even manage that. The negotiation of social situations can take so much energy. Finn, I want to thank you so much for this video and for your content in general. First of all, as a person who became severely disabled last year due to long COVID, I have been struggling to figure out how to live this newly restricted life I suddenly find myself in. Your videos have helped me tremendously in making peace with where I am and learning how to make my current life richer and more meaningful. My husband and I are currently trying to plan a move that will hopefully get us to a place that takes less energy to upkeep, leaving me more spoons for doing the things that make my life worth living. Fingers crossed! Secondly, I am an American and my mental and physical health have taken a turn for the worst since the results of the election. I am trying to keep myself from complete despair, knowing I live in a country where hate has taken such a strong hold. I am straight and cisgendered, but most of my best friends are in the LGBTQIA+ community and I am terrified for their safety and well-being. I also was a trauma therapist until having to quit work earlier this year. I had several transgender clients and I am terrified for them. The frustration I feel at being too sick to effectively support and advocate for my loved ones and former clients is immense. All this is to say thank you, again, for your videos and for speaking out about these very distressing events. I can’t understand what you’re going through right now, but I can understand that it is a difficult time for you, physically with the move, mentally as you learn your new town, and emotionally as you see how hatred and bigotry are becoming ever more prevalent and celebrated.

Thank you so much for your lovely message. I am always so glad to hear my videos help. Navigating the shock and devestation of chronic illness is so hard, and what's even harder, is making yourself a new life from the ruins of it. So many people just give up and become dispairing and bitter, and nobody would blame them, it's cruel what these energy limiting conditions steal from us, BUT, we can find a way to still live and find joy. It's taken me a long time and I still have to work hard at acceptance and dealing with frustration! Like you, I also get frustrated that I can no longer do the work I used to do to support my community. I used to love my speaking work, my mentoring work, but I just don't have the mental capacity or the energy resources. My videos are much more simple than they once were, but I am always so happy to hear that even my simple sharing still makes a difference. Life throws some epic curveballs at times but we can get creative with how we bat them out of the park! Moving sounds like it's going to be really positive for you too. Im wishing you all the best with the move and here's to a better world for all of us!

Hi Finn, as an American I totally understand what you’re talking about Trump, yes it’s sick all the way around. We are, mostly, are devastated. The hate in our country has astounded me. He brought it out back in 2015 and his rhetoric hasn’t stopped. To think people in my country are okay with a sexual predator, criminal, liar, etc etc etc. I believe in the greater good and Karma I have to hold on to that, so I do t go down a dark path. Do I stay and support the fight for our rights not to be eroded? I don't know. I couldn't get out of bed for 3 days after the election. I live in a blue state, and for that, I'm so lucky. Stay well.
