Boey (ボーイ Bōi, Boowy in the Japanese version) is a playable character from Fire Emblem Gaiden and its remake, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. He is 16 years old.

I didn't bench him either unless I was training other mages. Boey was my first tier 3 mage. Did his job surprisingly well, and I got very lucky with his speed growth. Still didn't double dread fighters, but, well, dread fighters.

I liked Boey’s design too much to bench him. I ended up giving him a lot of speed boosts and the Speed Ring. He doubles almost everything and crits a lot because of it; I know that other mages could do the same, maybe even better, but none of them could capture my attention EXCEPT SONYA.

I feel like Boey's usefulness depends a lot on how lucky you get with his level ups. I know in my first and third playthroughs, he was an absolute beast. That second playthrough though.... Well, I think he could do about 4 damage to enemies

Just a complaint. Do what you will with it, but... Your speech patterns annoy me. I know this is not actually how you normally talk as I've seen you in your LP's. What am I referring to? Well, essentially, the second last word of every sentence is of a lower tone to rest of the sentence, which is a build up to the elongation of the last word in the sentence. There may be more to it, but it's easier to just give an example. If I can try describing it into text form (even though you can just watch the video and hear for yourself - he does it multiple times), "It'd *voice gets slightly higher* be *quick pause here* _something like_ *fade into the next word for elongation* _thisssssss."_ Funnily enough, this is something a lot of KZbinrs do when they read off of scripts. Maybe I just hate it for how generic it sounds? Either way, I really can't watch your spotlights anymore. I like the content enough (though it could be better, but you already know that), but your speech patterns... again, can't take it. (This isn't to be confused with your natural accent. That's completely fine.) I'm not sure how many people share my sentiment so I COULD just be a minority, but I implore you to take heed to my words if you can.

This is the sort of feedback I really love. Precise, to the point, and with good reasoning. This is actually something I have thought about myself, and I wonder if I should take another approach to it. You are right that I make my voice different on purpose when reading from a script, kinda similar to a news anchor acts when reading the news. Maybe the trick with these spotlights is to add a more personal touch on them. To make them more Mangs-like, and less like a neutral voice. I guess I am trying out different things to see how it works, but I am very grateful for this comment, it definitely inspired me to try out a few new ideas. The next spotlight which comes out next weekend will not only have a different format, but I’ll try to take a bit of a difference approach with it in terms of how I talk as well. If you can, I’d like you to watch it and leave me a comment on how you think it’s changed, and if it’s for the better!

I really don't get all of the archer hate. Their growths may not be amazing but they have soo much utilitiy in this game (they make so many levels incredibly easy, especially if you have more than one). Their range increase makes them so useful at taking out high priority enemies and abilities from bows often help patch up their hit rates. Overall I tend to find that Echoes easily has the best archer system (if not making them a little bit too broken).

Archers are traditionally not very good in fire emblem because they have ranged physical attacks but typically low hit rate and not enough raw damage to be meaningful, whereas mages can attack similar range and usually able to counterattack adjacent enemies while targeting the typically lower resistance stat. Archers aren't really bad though, just overshadowed by the existence of mages. They can be amazing like in Echoes where they can get insane range, and some archers have enough magical bulk to shutdown mages. It took me years of playing games in this series to finally understand why the hate on archers because no one would ever actually explain it

When I played through the game at first my thoughts were if it wasn't discount, shittier Camus, then Saber was related to Celica and was Conrad. I mean...
