Nino (ニノ, Nino) is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken. She is a 14 year old mage, who later on becomes the mother of Raigh and Lugh in Fire Emblem: Binding Blade. Nino has an exceptional talent for magic. Despite being woefully under-trained, Nino is clearly adept at the skill. Although never having been formally trained; she instead learned by memorizing the incantations which Sonia chanted.

I like using her to kill Sonia. One of the most satisfying things to do in FE for me. All it takes is saving all stat boosters, mega power leveling, and saving a guiding ring. Totes worth amirite?

Then after learning that Sonia killed her family, she uses her power to kill her as a sort of poetic justice. And actually, I don't think she actually kills her which fits with Nino's innocence.

Mangs is one of those people who thinks that the hardest mode is fire emblem and that casual play is inferior. Games are made to play and have fun/relax, but the fire emblem community has people who just look down on people because of what characters they use or how they play. It's ridiculous

Most of the enjoyment from using Nino comes from slowly training her up, and then watching her obliterate the 100+ enemies in Victory or Death. I got her from a Level 13 Mage, promoted at 20, to a Level 20 Sage in the same chapter because of this. The carnage was just glorious.

I don't know that "value" is as objective as it may sound, without getting more specific. This is a video game, and arguably, the value of any part of it lies in how much enjoyment you get from that part. Someone trying to speedrun or optimize the game isn't going to value the same units as someone pursuing some other goal.

Nino, is my favorite character, because all of the crap that has happen to her. Anyway, i always train her everytime i play FE7. She always turns out better than erk or pent. Sure, i usually can't get her staff level up no more than C but i already have Serra and/or Priscilla. Nino always maxes out her Skill, Speed, Resistance, and sometimes Magic or luck by level 10 for me. I guess it's all in personal experience. I never had trouble leveling her up. To me she's always worth it unless you just want to use up time training her. All im trying to say is that she never disappointed me.

I'm not saying she is good. For me, she is just fun to use. Promoted to sage by the end of the chapter where you get Vaida. Those Knight and General reinforcements are delicious: 3 Plus she is story important, and gets loads of special dialogue in the final chapter.

One of my recent playthroughs had me give Nino a whirl. She turned out better than I thought. Give her an A Support with Jaffar and she'll do just fine. There's also the fact that I make sure after some leveling I give her a Guiding Ring to promote her so she reaches Sage class. Her appearance in said class is a bit unique. Unique as in she doesn't have the "long hair" despite wearing the outfit. Not to mention how well it works with the boss fight against Sonia. Also used the Afa Drops on her. I know she's got good growth rates but I could've sworn I noticed an exp boost on whoever it's used it.

Without Zephiel, Desmond would have continued a rule of bern, and possibly could have done even worse than Zephiel. And let's be honest, the fire dragon would have destroyed elibe without the help of almighty pre promote jaffar, and best est Nino.

Afa's drops aren't all that really useful to most units, since by the time you get them, most of your units (should be) very strong and very high leveled, meaning that Afa's drops may maybe increase 1 or 2 stats for the character that gets it, but for an Est character who starts at level 5 and has so much to grow, Afa's drops are perfect.

Fuck the haters, I like Nino for her potential, even if I have to babysit her. The return on investment is well worth it in my opnion. I never gave a shit about turn counts because I'm also an arena user. And there's not much reward for minimizing turn counts outside of a very, very minor boost to units and bragging rights.

You can actually get Nino to promote by the end of Sonia's chapter by surrounding her with four characters, including Lyn with a bow, Rebecca, and any reasonably evasive healer. Give Nino a few Fire and Thunder tomes, and she can potentially do damage to Sonia in that same chapter.

I actually find training Nino very easy, as the next chapter has tons of easy choke points. Just put a high defense character in front of her and she can safely hit enemies.

I used Nino and Jaffar my first time playing because i wanted them to have an ending and I wanted to unlock their supports. She did come in handy though when I needed an extra stave user since I had a hard time training Priscilla and Serra my first time playing the game. XD

Your right about Nino. Sure she is not the best unit and not worth investing but who cares right? You can play Fire Emblem the way you want and have fun. No can take it away from you. But don't tell that to the community though. In Heroes however, she is really great and outclasses other mages. Too good in fact that she is common in the Arena. Guess that's why she has her catchphrase "Do my best!" quote. Blazing Sword, not the best. In Heroes, complete 180 in a lot of ways. Also Julia and Sonya are great mages in Heroes as well. So I wouldn't say she outclassed them. Not by a longshot. They are tied with her.

She will end up better than Erk and Pent for two reasons (if you don't get RNG screwed). One, she has better growths. Two, she is a female. Not to be sexist, but female sages in the GBA games have higher stat caps than male mages.

In my personal opinion, Nino is very random. With her growths being mostly 50%, she can either be good, or terrible. Her low Hp growth is a huge problem for her, as even in the late game, she will have merely average stats. Some early stat up items might help her, but for pure utility and ranking, you're better off using Pent. All you need to give Pent is an Angelic Robe and he should do fine. On Hector Mode (or Hard Mode) i'd rather give Afa's Drops to somebody like Farina.

u know u say that Erk is better than Nino and yet Erk's growth rates are honestly pretty mediocre (how bout that 30% Luck growth), Pent on the other hand I can at the very least understand since while his growths are not much better, he at least has high enough base stats to where u can stick him there and he'll be fine. Plus he starts out with an A-Support Honestly I've played Blazing Sword plenty of times and in my experience with Hector Mode, it only took me 1 chapter of babysitting Nino before I upgraded here. From there she was on her own and with a support with Jaffar will boost her evasion quite nicely, she became a force to be reckoned with. Overall I completely disagree with the fact that Erk is a better unit with Nino. Pent I'll admit is the viable option because you get him a bit earlier and unlike Nino u don't need to baby him for him to be a solid unit, but Nino is by no means a bad unit like u claim

The Rogue Lord Erk joins in Chapter 14 and can be trained in Lyn Mode. Nino joins on chapter 28 and had shit bases. And you experience doesn’t mean shit.

meh. I find her extremely easy to train as long as you don't play too carelessley. most people's arguments to why she isn't as good as the other 2 anima users is her low con. Mage Knights fix this and giving her an added mobility would make her godlike. it really just comes down if you want to train her or not. which again, I find extremely easy. if she could promote to Mage Knight there would be any reason to use pent or erk. the only reason to use pent is because of his weapon ranks. at least that is what I think.

The reason people call Nino bad is not because of low constitution or because she's difficult to train, but because she's available for like 10 chapters. Erk is available for 25+ chapters.

those are just some of the reasons people don't like Nino. But availability really doesn't matter since she is easily to train so she is battle ready by cog of destiny and has already surpassed erk. I honestly think erk is the worst of the three. Pent having very good weapon ranks and base stats and Nino having so much potential and being able to easily achieve her max potential after her join time really makes erk only useful for the reason you mentioned. availability. that is the only thing he has over the other anima users.if you want a defensive magic user with good bases and ranks that comes with an a support already, choose pent. if you want someone who will definitely be a late game star and will be a monster on a player phase with good avoidance(despite her low con slowing her down a bit)and is pretty easy to play catch up with, choose nino. if you like erk, use erk, but he won't be as good as the others. (So yeah, that is my opinion, on Nino. sorry if I sound like a Nino fanboy, I not trying trying to argue, just stating what I think.)

for some reason i've always enjoyed the challenge of babysitting nino and keeping her alive, it just adds a lot of necessary difficulty in the chapters after battle before dawn. So I always end up using her and she can become insanely strong, I had her cap ALL of her stats except for defense once at lvl 20/16 sage. absolutely crazy. I did give her afa's drops though

I found that Nino levels up without any effort at all. She quickly became one of my higher leveled characters and is a definate go-to resource for more strategicly intensive battles. Maybe that's just because of how I typicaly use her to attack from spaces where short-range weapons can't reach her; or maybe I just tend to pick her cause she's cute. Either way she's an excelent character both in story and in gameplay.

Compare numbers to other numbers? I know why some people find that enjoyable, but if the base of the worth of a game is how much you enjoy playing it, then a unit's worth becomes very subjective. When I play fire emblem, I use only characters that I like and while sometimes that is a pain (especially because I really like the character of Rennac in FE8), it makes the challenging nature of the game more enjoyable

Nino sucks ridiculously more on Hector mode compared to Eliwood mode. In Eliwood mode she can take the Magic flank (i.e. the left side) in Valorous Roland (even on Hard Mode). Give her Fire, Elfire or Thunder, Vulnerary or Elixer, and Pure Water (or rely on the one that an enemy drops and she can get from level 5-6 to level 18. If you want give Eliwood a Guiding Ring so she can promote there. In Hector mode there is no chapter as easy to give Nino experience as that, and the system only really works if she gets at least 2 good levels up in the Battle Before Dawn, the Water Temple, or Cog of Destiny.

I say she sucks more on Hector Mode, but she still isn't particularly better than Pent except that Pent's A support is already taken by Louise where Nino can support with better options.

When I use her, she usually maxes out all stats other than defense and HP. Takes a LOT of patience and time, but totally worth it.

I like using Nino to support both Rebecca and Legault so that Legault gives her Avoid and Defense, and Nino gives Legault Crit (which is GREAT for Assassins), Attack and Avoid. I do it for Rebecca so that Nino and Rebecca both get the B-rank +1 Damage and the extra Crit, which, when added to Dart's Fire support with Rebecca so that Rebecca has AMAZING Crit. Seriously, Rebecca will have a Critical cap of 45 AT BASE.

I like using her. By this point you should have 2 or 3 mines to take advantage up to level her up. I give the afa's drop because at this point int the game, there really isn't anyone else to use it on.

I'd argue Nino is at best, lower-mid and at worst upper-low tier, mostly due to EXP scaling making it easier to level her up with the limited resources, and as mentioned, the late game for FE7 was easy and she ultimately has no impact. Using two characters on a map is also not exactly unheard of, so if she's strong by end game, then you got a very powerful unit to compensate for your potentially under trained characters. If she's weak, then the last two or three maps can help catch her up. Plus, if you are not doing a ranked run or are just very confident in your other units being able to handle the map without a healer or Ninian, Four Fanged Offense is only a few chapters away, which has an arena for Nino to abuse. But yes, optimal runs are not Nino's place, much like most Est-type units.

I like Nino. In one chapter (26x) she became worth it, and at lvl 15, I premoted her next chapter. I had her replace Pent, as he was too easy to use, and the relationship between her and Erk was probably my favorite in the game. If it was any other chapter, I wouldn't have used her, but 26x gives you so much experience for a bonus chapter, that if you spend it on Nino, it instantly boosts her to "best in class", although I totally understand using Pent and getting on with your life. That's exactly what I'll do on repeat playthroughs.

I know how to trigger everyone, and I'm serious. I used Nino in an LTC run. Yes. I said it. I did. I defeated Lloyd, Linus, Brendan and Nergal with her. Don't worry. It was still a normal LTC.
