I can't believe I've done 50 of these already. My first spotlight of Louise came out little over 2 years ago on the 13th of July, and I had no idea how popular this series would get. I am very grateful for all the views, likes and comments, and to everyone who shares these spotlights around. They have become a window into my channel for a lot of fans, as I keep hearing how the spotlights were what drew a lot of people in here to begin with. I am very grateful to Mina who with her amazing artistic skills, have added so much visual beauty and structure to the spotlights as a whole. However, since I am always interested in improving my craft. Are there any features or things you think would be interesting to see added to future spotlights? And are there any aspects of it you feel could be removed? Let me hear your opinions in the comments below!

As someone with a little bit of knowledge on ancient weaponry, the Wo Dao is likely not a katana. It's probs just a Dao. The Dao is the ancestor of the katana, but it's chinese. Most japanese weapons appear to descend from china anyway.

I'm surprised that the Karel vs Guy theory didn't come up. After Blazing sword Guy was known as the Sword Saint just as Karel was in Binding Blade so it is theorized that Karel killed Guy and took his title as the Sword Saint.

That never happened, Guy becomes someone who rivals the sword saint in strength (Karel) not the sword saint itself. It was just a localization error, check the wiki or translate the original japanese text.

I consider Harken equal since both are rather good units, and Harken's lower Speed is made up for by his better, non-speed bulk stats (Luck, Def and Res). Also, Brave Sword.

I like the theory that Karel's family sword is actually not the Wo Dao, but that he's descended from Odo and Shannon and he has the actual Balmung. He doesn't use it in FE7 because he either doesn't believe any enemy worthy of it, or because he believes he has to settle things with Karla before the sword's true heir can be determined in his eyes. In FE6, he has no desire to use such a sword anymore. Some evidence for the theory is that he says his family/clan emigrated to the Sacae from another continent only a few generations ago, and he notably has black hair similar to the heirs of Odo as opposed to the stereotypical Sacaen green. The way he talks about his sword makes it seem more special than just a wo dao, especially as it can easily be broken by the time he talks to Karla about how the winner of their duel will win the right to use their family sword.

I think it was Lucius that got him to change. Lucius/Karel's A support shows that their interactions have brought him peace. I had forgotten about Karla throwing down her sword. That likely played a part as well. "Why would she do that? I don't understand." Lucius may have gotten him to understand.

4:47 In Karel's support with Guy he, Guy challenges him to a fight. Not wanting to kill him, Karel says that he will fight Guy exactly one year from then. We also see in the end of Blazing Sword that Guy gains the name "Sword Saint" (the name Karel uses in FE6) It's implied that Guy gained the Title of the Sword Saint before his fight with Karel and soon died in that fight. Karel, now having gained a change of hear and killing Guy, then took the title of "Sword Saint" for himself. This is also supported by the fact that Guy is nowhere to be seen in FE6 where Karel is.

Guy shares his title with the swordmaster, Karel. This is due to a translation error for Guy's epilogue, as in the original Japanese he was said only to be able to match "The Sword Saint" in strength, rather than becoming the Sword Saint himself: "The Sacaen swordsman followed his dream and continued his journey to perfect his sword. Eventually, he was said to be able to rival the “Sword Saint” himself." Karel didn't killed Guy, it was just a translation error.

It's also suggested that his talks with Lucius calmed him down or that Guy came and challenged him. Since Guy isn't in Binding Blade, it's possible that Karel murdered Guy which would have left Karel distracted as Guy was probably the nicest guy (pun not intended) that's Karel ever killed.

His sister, the person that broke his edgy demeanor, got sick after they reconnected & died after Fir was born. Everyone Karel knew personally (except Bartre & Fir) died. He was left with immense guilt and shame after the loss of Karla, and he regards his earlier days as a demonic trance that he will never return to again.
