I would rate Jakob high because he is the best support unit in the game. If he can somehow get Wyvern Lord either from Corrin, Beruka or Camilla, and then reclass to Strategist: He gets ALL the defensive auras. By level 20, he can have Demoiselle, Rally Def, Rally Res, and Inspiration - on female units that's +8 Def and +8 Res which also stacks with Sakura's personal for +10 Def and +10 Res from two tiles away! Revelation is a game where the difficulty comes from enemy stat creep, so I think defensive stacking is incredibly valuable especially for Rev maps with low deployment. Suddenly these obscene crowds of great knights and paladins are only doing 5 DMG to Camilla, Velouria, or Corrin.

I've recently been playing through Revelations and because I'm Zoran-pilled, I built wyvern Elise. It actually wasn't that bad to train her up to somewhere around level 13 since her join chapter is essentially a simpler, care-free version of cq chapter 10. Most of my characters were already pretty far ahead of the level curve, so feeding Elise many of the kills on the map was pretty much of little consequence. It's nice because she gains d axes by the end of the chapter as well. If you really wanted to, you can opt to give her the early arm scroll to get her bolt axe access by the following chapter, which somewhat improves her matchups on the next map (i didn't do this personally, so training her on this map was significantly harder here). Essentially, her training arc lasts for around three chapters until she gets bolt axe access, then she begins nuking things as expected. In general, many of the earlier units are actually not so bad to train up due to the very bait-and-switch nature of Rev maps. Sidenote: I'm playing the ugf patch, so I had Hana support with Mozu. Hana takes heavy advantage of 2 range access with her insane offensive growths and weak defensive ones. I'm not there yet, but I can't wait to get the two of them into moa for lnd to make two player phase nukes. Makes me wish that they had a+ support in the base game (or yknow, made more gay supports)

Reina is really really bad in the draft race where she just can't carry :) Great c14 unit tho, and she's great in the normal game

Unironically having benny marry rinkah for death blow for his insane skill with blacksmith and then greatclub and sol just demolishes. It doesn't take too much investment and he gets access to axes and clubs at A rank for brave axe. if you put more investment into him axefaire from beserker means almost nothing can kill him. His great Hp and amazing resistance means mages aren't a death sentence something armours from any other game dream of grab wary fighter and he is basically unkillable. He can also friendship Hayato or marry oboro for rend heaven. Oboro also gives lancefaire which helps pick up kills and salvage his mediocre strength stat. If you marry oboro and pick up lancefaire a plus 1 Guard naginata benny is just stupidly bulky.

he won't be anywhere near game defining but he can be more than a tank. Sadly you need to really push him to get him there and while I enjoy taking units and doing really weird comboes benny has shown to be able to work. Blacksmith Benny has a growth rate of 65 skill and while 55 strength isn't winning any awards it strong enough to kill most mages. benny is able to either crit or weaken everything without taking much damage and healing with sol making him a perfect tank. Despite him being my second favourite unit I won't defend him in conquest ever but his Rev apperance is far better than people give him credit for. getting benny to marry Rinkah may take a bit as he joins a mid game and they don't have a fast support. While I don't do optional scouting missions for grinding that could very quickly build support rank. when benny changes from knight to oni savage he loses 2 strength. if he is still level 15 which is unlikely he will have 13 base strenght. A bronze axe plus 1 has base 8 might meaning benny will have 21 base damage eneough to deal considerable chip. E rank weapon hell is harsh especially considering benny's low speed and the inability to crit. However due to taking multiple hits to defeat some enemies ranged healing rods and benny high mixed bulk he can very quickly get to D rank. If benny and rinkah grind support rank outside of main story missions by paralogues, scouting missions online battles, inside my castle etc he can really grind against the heavy armoured units in chapter 17. Benny can hold a chokepoint in the moutain. Lunatic Generals have 29 defence. Benny as a knight and oni savage has a 60 percent strength growth rate. Benny won't be able to damge them at E rank axe however if benny get's to D rank axe equippes a Iron axe plus 1 has a strength tonic and a strength meal and has rinkah paired up he just barely damages the General. Now Blacksmith benny takes a ton of investment but spear master doesn't spear fighter or knight benny has the luxary of having a decent weapon rank to start. C lance means benny can wield steel lances will be able to damage the Generals and while he won't double on lunatic he can deal with them solidly. It allows beny to grind to B rank lance rank easily and get to level 20. after that he can easily hold the line for other ranged units to gain weapon and normal experience. If benny manages to get to level 20 he can be promoted great knight which works for both Blacksmith build and rinkah build as he can grind Axe rank on the cavaliers and paladins as a bronze axe plus one will deal decent damage. Benny as a spear master while not great long term does have interesting stats. his speed is unsalvagable but 65 skill 65 defence and 50 resistance plus lancefaire and the seal abilities means he is great at just picking up kills. Seal speed means even on the harder difficulty he won't get doubled by everything. Benny has a base speed of 11 as a spear master which means slower enemy mages such as dark knights and sorcerers which will have 16 on chapter 19 and 17 on chapter 21. a speed tonic means benny won't be doubled by these mages and physical damage doesn't matter. Blacksmith also has a base speed of 8 same a spearmaster meaning it's the same situation. Malig knights have extremely low speed even on lunatic which means they will never double benny. On lunatic even at the final chapter dark knights and Malig knights won't double benny with his base speed as a Blacksmith or spearmaster. while greatknight benny is slower by 2 speed a speed tonic means he still won't be doubled. the big issue is getting benny out of E rank weapon if he marries rinkah for blacksmith. However a if he choose to weild lances that won't be an issue. While I don't want to say everyone is wrong benny without investment will just be a tank he can be a incredible offensive threat with a bit of a push. I also don't mean to insult you i just really like this character and think he can be better than most people think.

This video I find you are really underselling orochi. Her performance in chapter 11 is atrocious yes, but I find it’s really easy to catch her up in chapters 12 and 13 and she can really start to put in work with some very impressive damage output. I find attack stance to be incredibly important in rev and her dual strikes really push a lot of orko thresholds. She has incredibly impressive ceilings as well through reclassing but even if you just leave her in onmyoji and throw a lightning tome on her she’ll kill many of the harder enemies to deal with.

It's funny how this game went from Hayato being a bit of a meme choice to unironically one of the best characters for at least the 1st half of the game. Guess that just shows how much some units have changed in Rev

I managed to train Elise in her joint chapter, though I will admit I don't remember how I did it exactly. I know I paired up Arthur, gave a Str tonic, forged Bronze and maybe a Skl tonic (and a Secret Book I think) and probably only had her kill off weakened enemies. It was worth it though, because I now have a Bolt Axe Elise flying around. :D I've done a lot of weird things (and used the map encounters as well, shhh) like training up Hana with aura bot Jakob behind her in the same map. And I made a cursed Dark Knight Felicia with Vantage Life and Death Levin Sword strats (Leo as her hubby). Oh, and I made Orochi a Sorc with a cursed Hayato Onmijoyi pair up. And Shining Bow Nyx of course. It's definitely the game I probably care the least about (though it still is a lot of fun). Great video!

I don't have a whole lot to add to the unit discussion of Rev as I've played that path twice total, I just wanted to see my man Silas in Meta-Defining among all the royal siblings, right where he belongs. Also Shining Bow Priestess Sakura goes hard.

The thing about Rev is that almost every map is built to feed kills to your scrub units, and Fates mechanics like dual strikes, shuriken debuffing make most units more accessible than I think people give them credit for. Hana isn't actually that bad, she does 0x2 damage on her join chapter, but the following chapter is the snow-shoveling map which breaks enemies into digestible chunks to feed kills to her. By the end of that chapter, she'd have caught up to the rest of the party. Hana's a pretty good growth unit - will get lots of speed, skill and strength. She'll get so much speed, that enemies will have no hit rates on her when she has WTA or sunrise katana. She can marry Keaton to reclass to Hero, and be a player phase delete button with lots of skills to passively restore HP. Plus, she provides female Corrin myrmidon, which is a great damage stack to one-turn late game maps.

In my most recent run, I've been using Nostank Camilla and she's very good. With bulky pair-ups like Beruka or WL Selena she just takes little damage and can survive so many hoards. This build also gets a ton of Weapon rank, so she'll get S-rank tomes naturally. The damage isn't too hot, but the defensive profile is insane, and eventually you can go back and get trample to boost her damage by 10.

Honestly Hana was pretty clutch for me on my latest Lunatic Playthrough of Rev early game. I think I gave her a strength tonic for some levels, but she got a lot of clutch crits and dodges and got some kills when I needed her to, but I acknowledge that's pretty luck based.

Great list. I just think it's a little silly to pretend you can't just grind on Revelations. And I'm not even talking about insane grind. You're telling me you can't grind Arthur 1 level on a challenge so he can promote to become a better backpack ? Alright then.

Old video but Hana and Subaki i found the best way to get them going is use paralogue 1. Now that is arguably not worth but at least Subaki gives a good kid
